I'm a short, overweight white man. I worked hard and honest. I raised my Nephew from his birth while caring for elderly family and later on cared for my elderly mother. I was never able to get a college education and now I'm disabled and alone. No one gave me anything, including the government. I was never privileged and surely not treated equal compared to others. Who's going to help me now? You??

I am sick to death of hearing the phrase white privilege. I am a 55-year-old woman who has never been handed anything in her entire life nor do I expect anything to be handed to me. I was raised in a Blue collar, family, both my stepfather, and my father served in the military, and both worked in steel mills their entire life, which is laborious job, but they did not complain. They were tired and supported their family. Begin at the age of eight I had three routes what eight year-old kid do you know these days that would wake up at 5 AM to stuff newspapers on Saturdays and Sundays and deliver those papers on foot and every day after school when my friends asked me to come to their house I said I have to go home and out and then I started my first paycheck at the age of 15. I also served in the army reserves I’ve been working ever since I was eight years old. I’m a single mother who raised two daughters without Financial support from their father with this white privilege crap I’ve never been privileged. No one has ever handed me anything without my working hard for it and that is as it should be for everyone I don’t want handouts and no one else should get any.!

I laughed when my wife and I went to Ireland. She is of Irish descent but was born in San Francisco (first generation) and they always referred to themselves as “Irish-Americans”. But when we were in Ireland she was referred to as a “Yank”, even by her immediate family. They understand that unless you’re born in Ireland you’re NOT Irish, after that my wife started referring to herself (correctly) as an American of Irish descent.

The rest of the world cringe when Americans say this. Especially Americans when they go abroad telling random strangers they are irish or African etc..whilst all having American accents. It comes across as abit desperate and trying too hard. Unfortunately its normalized in America so they dont understand why it's weird. Its especially weird because Americans are obsessed with saying somethings cultural appropriation yet literally pretend to be and understand what it's like to be from another place. If lefties weren't so nuts we might find people saying their irish or whatever more endearing.

Just to be clear for anyone outside of Missouri. The GOP generally holds between 65% and 70% of the seats in both chambers. Also, the super-vast majority of introduced bills never make it out of committee, including those introduced by the GOP that again, control roughly 70% of the seats. So there are likely two issues. 1 - she's proposing bills that simply are contrary to the values of roughly 7 out of 10 legislators, so they aren't going anywhere, ever, and 2 - committees definitely focus on bills favored by each chair and by chamber leadership. Her party doesn't hold any of those positions. There's only so much time in about 4-5 months to work, and she's not a priority. It has nothing to do with race.

Sadly as a young girl in a park just reading I was taped by 3 black boys. One was my pastors son. Masks don’t hide voices. I went to Pastor Nobels home. Kenny was there. I spoke to his dad and mom they called him in the room. He said excuses but his dad brought out a strap. Apologized to me and prayed over me. I walked out with Mrs Nobel and all hell broke loose with Kenny begging for mercy. I was 16. I sat under a Pastor who invited a black church to worship with us. That Pastor walked around laying hands on our heads and praying for all in line. I had no idea how scared I was until that Pastor put his hand on me. His wife saw my reaction and stepped between us and some sweet sisters escorted me out. We spoke about my fear and they prayed with me till I just was cried out. Them Pastor Hightower came in the back room. He just knelt before me and wept. That broke that bondage of fear from me heart I didn’t even know I carried with me. Now I’m a grandma of moxies my daughters married and daddy’s are good men. I am so thankful pastor Hightower taught me humility and empathy without excuse or expectations. The fear on both sides is real. God bless the mama you had to raise objective young responsible men. I’m Now 70. Racial divisions are worse now than ever and my grandsons are being targeted by woke teachers to deny their blanco heritage. They won’t. Plus We had 22 foster kids run through our home. Only one was white and all were from single young mothers homes. But 21 became successful.

I’m just waiting for my voter registration to arrive in the mail (I’ve moved back to Texas) and I’m going to switch parties. I will no longer support the delusions and lies the Democrats are trying to spoon feed us.

I grew up in Detroit in my early childhood in the 60’s. My dad was brutally murdered when I was just under 3 years old. My mom had 4 children to raise all under 5 years old! We were poor, very poor! When we moved to the suburbs after the 67 riots, we were looked down on, and made fun of because we were poor! I graduated from Pontiac, Central High School where I was threatened, and saw fights at school turn into mob scenes and it was all black on white! I got married right out of high school, had one child and ended up divorced 3 years later! I had nothing! I took a job at a Cunningham drug store on the midnight shift that was within walking distance because I had no transportation! My mom wouldn’t babysit during the day! I struggled continuously! I then took bookkeeping correspondence course for 2+ years so I could get a higher paying job, and received no child support, but still could barely make ends meet and even living in an apartment with my sister! She was an alcoholic who would drink her part of the rent away at times! And back then if you were a single mother with a child you were looked down on, no matter what the circumstances were! I struggled and took side jobs that I could because I didn’t want my child to go hungry! I made too much to get help, but not enough to make ends meet! So I started to go to college 1 class at a time and paid for my own classes! It took me almost 8 years to get my associates degree! I still struggled! I am 66 years old and white and still looking for that “white privilege! I still have not found it!

The thing is, if her employers were racist like she is claiming, then why would they hire her in the first place?
Also, if racism is so rampant, this politician wouldn't have been elected into her position of power and privilege for 24 years straight let alone the vote for her even when she spreads actual racism towards white ppl.
If I were in that mans situation, I would have started by listing the stats, like the fact that white ppl rank 15th in overall average household income in America.
I would then point out how she, by living in America, is automatically in the top 5% of of the worlds wealthiest, most privileged ppl let alone the fact that she is in a privelaged position of power and has been for 23 years.
The fact that her daughter received a masters at a college and is likely in the top 30% in terms of wealth puts her in the top 2% of the world in terms of wealth and privilege.
Then there are the countless privileges her and her daughter obviously take for granted that they've enjoyed thanks to living in the modern age especially in America be it a doubled life expectancy, modern medicine like antibiotics, clean drinking water 💦, food in abundance 🥩🥡🥫, electricity 🔌, indoor plumbing, heating and AC, automobiles 🚗, air travel, telecommunications 📞, smart devices📱, and computers 💻, just a few on an endless list of the modern and American privileges they've enjoyed, 94% of which were built, maintained, protected and many of which invented by the "evil white man".

I'm primarily irish, white American. Single, straight, and male. I don't give a damn about skin color, never did. But I've known many people, including various races, and including friends, who couldn't help but turn any topic into a discussion about race. And you're absolutely right, the general thought process seems more and to be "white people bad, white people are the problem" and also "straight white males are the worst". I just try to live my life, i enjoy videogames, movies, coffee, etc. But everywhere i look, whether it's the media, or corporations like disney or netflix, and often in real everyday life, i see so much disdain towards whites, and even more so toward straight white guys. We're seen as the problem, the enemy, the creeps, just because we were born white skinned, also for being straight and single. From what i gather, we're seen as privileged. Yet most of the people who judge me and discriminate against me for my "privilege" most likely have better lives than mine, most likely have more finances than me, most likely own a vehicle or can at least drive. I rely on food stamps, I've never had a long term job or a long term relationship, or even a real relationship, I've been in and out of shelters and off and the streets most of my life, and i can't drive because im incredibly near sighted, basically legally blind, although i can see, just nowhere near as good as most other people. I'm thankful that i don't have any addictions and I'm clean and sober, i don't even smoke pot. But i also have been battling depression and anxiety since childhood, and no meds have ever helped. So i fail to see how extremely privileged i am because of my skin color, or the fact that I'm straight. And i refuse to feel any guilt for it because i didn't do anything wrong to anyone. And neither did my father, nor his father before him, nor his father before him. But my great grandfather did fight on Normandy Beach and other places during WWII against nazis for the freedoms we have today that so many take for granted and even spit upon.
