      I’ve been lots of places, but it’s the most amazing attraction I’ve ever seen. Video doesn’t do it justice, just an amazing sight with high fidelity music pumping through the cavern. I had to mute the music, and add my own, as it always triggers a TH-cam copyright violation! 🙂

    It’s like being in another world! We have been several times but did not go this year. It’s really a wonderful light display!

      It’s the best Christmas display I’ve ever seen! I seem to always go on New Year’s Day: traffic is minimal, sometimes only a few cars, and you get a discount!

    Wife and I went once before and enjoyed it. But not to this degree as we were in the back row of a mini van. This is Super nice. Thank you so much.

      It is extremely cool. I couldn’t replay the music they pump into the cave, due to copyright, but it makes for an incredible experience you’ll never forget.

    My son moved to Bloomington in November and drove down to see this with his fiancée over the holidays. They both really enjoyed it and hit up French Lick on their drive home. Some big hotel or casino in that area.

    • @AdventureswithRoger
      @AdventureswithRoger  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah French Lick has the casino and historic hotel. A minute or so across town is the huge West Baden hotel, once the largest domed building in America. You can get on a free trolly that travels between both.

      @@gamebredduramax71 Went to TOL once, when my company had a building overlooking the George Rogers Clark bridge. The view was amazing, but traffic, at the end of the day, was pretty much gridlock.

    Each year I plan on going, but then I see the line of cars and that cures me of it. But after your video, I will have to go!

    I love Louisville. My entire life ive hated the nearest big city, be it in Florida or Texas or Washington state. But I moved here to Indiana and fell in love with Louisville. It has its issues but something about it never makes me feel the same oppressive, yucky feeling I feel driving into 95% of major cities. I avoid Indianapolis at all costs, it ruins my day. I don't know how it manages to be so much more grim and dreary as Louisville only a couple hours away. Maybe it's just the beauty of the KY landscape.

    • @AdventureswithRoger
      @AdventureswithRoger  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I lived just south of Indianapolis, for over 30 years. Indy has great museums and restaurants, I even worked downtown twice, but I never wanted to live there. Louisville has its riverfront charm, history, and the great outdoors never seems far away.

    • @geraldmeehan8942

      Indy is much flatter and laid out on a grid

    • @AdventureswithRoger
      @AdventureswithRoger  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      MUCH MUCH flatter for sure! People come to Indy for sporting events and conventions, then leave thinking the entire state is just as flat and predictable. An hour and a half south, and it’s a totally different landscape. Southern Indiana is so much more like Kentucky, that the area is commonly known as “Kentuckiana”.

    • @angelmartin7310
      @angelmartin7310 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @AdventureswithRoger Yes, I thought it was flat when my husband moved us here to his hometown. Little did I know I happened to luck out because he was from the bottom what, 1/4th, 1/3rd of Indiana that is truly beautiful

    • @AdventureswithRoger
      @AdventureswithRoger  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      In northern Indiana, Parke, Fountain and Warren Counties have some great rocky areas, much like southern Indiana.

    Great video, Roger! I did this once a few years back and thought it was really neat. The whole mega cavern in general is a cool place. One of the workers I met there at the mountain bike park told me that they expanded construction on the mega cavern back in the 60’s after the Cuban Missile Crisis. Supposedly, the entire cavern extends from its entrance off of Poplar Level to another opening on the other side of the airport, which isn’t accessible to the public.

      @AdventureswithRoger  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There’s a cool tram ride tour, that goes deep in the cave, and shows the historic bomb proof area. It’s a little spooky, with a ton of mannequins set up to look like the survivors. Some kind of lottery system chose who could or could not survive.

    Wow! That's super cool. What a unique venue. I love that it's underground. It feels like a mine/cave but it's also a modern wired spectacle of light and color. It's not spooky but it could be. I would love to host an event there. I see many possibilities. Happy New Year.
