    Great video man. My favorite album by Flylo is definitely You're Dead, it's cohesive, well-paced, and so real. But every album deserves a listen tho

      @@emilioross243 This is true, as you mentioned cohesive earlier, Turles, Siren Song and some other dope tracks for me, were all so unique and yet so similar it really baffles me sometimes haha - super cool to see someone have such intricate knowledge and it's good to see people like you still want to know about FlyLo, it's why these videos are made

    Brilliant video mate, think you did a spot on critique of FlyLo's discog while making it succinct. Don't know how familiar you are with Laplux but I think he's just released, like so many of my favorite artists, his Magnum Opus last year in Amnioverse. Would love to hear your thoughts on this, peace ✌️

    • @RegalState
      @RegalState  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You see Lapalux is interesting - his music is similar to FlyingLo's but imo a bit less experimental - it feels more ambient. And by more, I don't mean a lot lol, just a little bit. Lapalux is definitely on the list, but will be a while before I get there, I have so many more projects to cover haha.
      I definitely think the sentiment of exploring producers is underrated. Only now because some producers are starting to sample is it becoming more mainstream recognised. Knxwldge is someone I need to cover too for example.

    • @JamilBousquet
      @JamilBousquet 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RegalState oh yeah just last night I was thinking to myself that following projects of producers is only now becoming mainstream, with artist like Metro Boomin, Mike Will, and Pierre B'orne for instance releasing solo projects that are well regarded and have a sizable following, and that's just in hip hop alone. Brainfeeder, Ghostly Intl. and Ninja Tune have definitely helped pave the way with the talent they've facilitated over the years, too.
      I can imagine how many projects you have down the line having a look at your channel. You seem to cover a wide range of genres!

      @@JamilBousquet There you go, you've hit so many. There is an endless amount of content I need to cover basically. I might be one of the few human beings getting value out of my streaming service lmao because otherwise i'd be so far behind.

    I saw Flying Lotus at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
