“Mostly mood” haha. That was a great response!! What a great review; your daughter for the win 🥇 I look forward to incorporating the writing component next school year. Thank you for suggesting this review collaboration, friend! Let’s do more in the future 😊

This looks great! We love Brave Writer, but I like the structure of this.

I can see how they would be pretty similar! We really loved Lightning Literature this year. We have used an arrow guide from Brave Writer before and really liked it! I could see us wanting to use more of her stuff in the future!

We are also using LL level 4. Only one book completed, but enjoying so far! I love how you incorporate spelling and will be adding this to our language arts days. I also have a reluctant writer and prefer to skip over the composition piece, using the WriteShop Jr. program instead - It has been a great combo for us. Here from Tasha’s channel. I really enjoyed hearing your thoughtful review.🙂

Thank you so much for coming over and watching! I’ve heard good things about Writeshop Jr. that’s great that it’s working so well for you.

I would love to hear more about how you incorporate both Lightning Literature and Writeshop. Do you use both everyday? Do you alternate?

@@theselittlesprouts Hi there! We don’t pull out WriteShop as much as I would have liked, but my son still enjoys it when we do. Even with all the prepping ahead of materials, I find the teacher’s guide to be pretty wordy and I just began to dread pulling it all out. I love LL, him not so much. We are looking into Fix It Grammar and Writing & Rhetoric now, though I will be using LL with my youngest soon - I think it will be a better fit for her learning style and personality.☺️
While we hadn’t perfected our routine, it worked pretty well to do LL 3 times a week and WriteShop the other 2 days of the week! We keep things pretty flexible for the most part as we school year round, and would have been content to complete half of each curriculum this school year, leaving the rest for 5th grade.

@@brenkm955 Thanks for the response! I have a very reluctant writer who I feel needs more handholding and direction when it comes to writing than Lightning Literature. While I love how gentle and spaced out the approach to writing is, I’m finding instruction lacking a little. I’m looking to add in more guidance for writing next year. I have looked at both Writeshop Jr as well as Writing Rhetoric among others. We really love Lightning Literature but writing is just always a big struggle always.

Thanks for the video! Would you say the grammar concepts review? Or is it once it’s taught you don’t really see it?

Yes they review and it is reviewed and built upon in further levels too.

Does it tell you the pace or a schedule the student should follow?

Yes everyday has the amount of reading and the lesson. Very open and go
