Thank you for the detailed explanation. while making a snaptop/image if we reduce the volume size and from this image if we use the replace root volume option to reduce the root volume size does it work?
Hi, thanks for the question. AWS does not support decreasing EBS volume size. You can only increase EBS volume size. docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/requesting-ebs-volume-modifications.html This option automatically replaces new root volume of the same size as the snapshot. If you wish to increase the size you can do so after the replacement task has completed. It is recommended to always take a snapshot before you make any changes to the EBS volume anyways so you can restore if necessary. Please do subscribe for more similar content.
Thanks for the clear explanation dear comrade, do u have any plans to make videos on patch management using SSM? to push security patches windows servers? would like to know more on automation too if you have time .....thank u
thanks for this, really useful but could you perhaps share any thoughts on why applications on my windows ec2 instance would suddenly slow down? I've check CPU, mem, disk and all seem to be operating at acceptable levels. I replaced the root volume using a snapshot, changed instances and still applications are slow, note pad takes 1min to 2min to start. Any ideas as to why this could be happening?
Please make a video on event bridge to automate server start/stop when cpu utilization crossed the set threshold. Make sure to use the first rule i.e event rule pattern not scheduler.
