I also have/had a z3, x1, and looking to get a z4, but the F30 is the GOAT for the exact reasons you covered. Hats off to you and the research you did for this video.
2016 328i N26 Msport (factory installed) here. You forgot to mention how early in the RPM band the torque is available. As early as 255 lb-ft @ 1,250 rpm. That makes a big difference when comparing it to other brands with similar power. Not to mention it's perfect to get around traffic, even in Comfort Mode. Averaging 26 to 28 mpg isn't terrible either. That said, I want to sell it and get something a couple of years newer. N55 or B58 msport would be nice.
im late to this but the 335i isn't bad, bolt ons, dp, 17t turbos with supporting mods and a proper tune they can go upwards of 700hp for less than 10k on top of the car
@markroden well. I have to since my Oldman had a 1994 730i.. was a really rare face-lift one before the big face-lift.. plastics gave in, oil leaked into the gearbox or something and screwed something. Had to sell it for 200bucks.
@markroden and you know what? I moved to mitsubishi's 😆 Edit: well, I dailied es300 for almost 10 years.. now I'm going to replace it with a stagea wagon. Looks cool as haha. P.s. I own a fto and a gto - this one needs rust repairs.
I would say get a 340i xdrive, it had be switched to rwd only using xhp and u can still switch it back to awd if u need to drive through snow or want to put down high power and drag race it
i hope to own an f30 340i, it has such a nice design and doesn't break the bank only problem is they seem to be pretty rare.. like in my city there's only 5 available and they are all over 100k mileage

One of my friends has a 6-speed m sport rwd 328i, I can’t imagine there are many of that spec that exist, amazing drivers car tho and you can use every bit of the power band
0:17 you're getting a BMW next? I thought you were getting a q50, ngl I'm glad you're most likely getting this instead, I like it a lot more than the q50 idk why I just don't like the way the q50 looks, smth about it is weird in my opinion.
It’s not that simple but possible ! First, the N55 is a six-cylinder engine, while the N20 is a four-cylinder, so you’ll need custom engine mounts to fit it properly. The transmission might not handle the N55’s power, so you’ll likely need to swap it out for an N55-compatible transmission. Electrically, the N55 requires its own ECU, and the wiring harness will need significant adjustments or replacement to ensure everything communicates correctly. Cooling is another challenge. The N55 produces more heat, so you’ll need to upgrade the cooling system to prevent overheating. The exhaust system will also need to be replaced or modified to fit the new engine layout. Plus, the N55 delivers more torque, so you might have to strengthen or upgrade the drivetrain, including the driveshaft and differential, to handle the extra power. Since the N55 requires more fuel, you’ll need to upgrade the fuel pump and injectors to meet the engine’s demands. Finally, after everything is installed, the car’s software needs to be coded and tuned to ensure the engine, drivetrain, and electronics all work in harmony. This isn’t a simple swap-it’s a big job that will need both mechanical and electronic expertise.
Man I was going to comment on the info you got wrong in this video but honestly after watching the video the mistakes would be too long to list. It was an entertaining video to watch though, good attitude

n55 and b58 is twin scroll turbos not twin turbos
Yes 👏👏👏

Both n55 and b58 are single turbo, just twin scroll turbos that's where the confusion comes in

All BMWs are twin scroll turbo. Most modern vehicles are. That’s where the confusion comes in… it’s simply a marketing technique. (Twin power turbo)

If an F30 328i N26 engine blows up, can it be replaced with a 335 inline 6 engine? Or, is the B48 better than the N26, and compatible for a swap?
