Thanks Motters. It's been a while since I've had a contact with Tom. I think he travels a lot for his work. I believe he was working on a cruise ship at one point. Really like that radio. Shame I had to give it back!!!
@@AmateurRadioUK morning mate. Yeah you are right. Yeah it's a shame looks a great radio and fantastic for SOTA I guess it's only missing a ATU. Then it would give the KX2 a good run for it's money 💰 I managed to speak to Callum yesterday got a 57 which I was happy with. 👍🏽
general question, on your typical SOTA activation, what would you say is the average amount of time you spend walking from the car to the summit ? has it improved your health ? :)
Brutally honestly, I don't really climb summits often enough for it to make much difference. In terms of car to summit walking time, that is heavily dependent on how far it is. I used to manage many of these summits in around 30-45 minutes when I was younger. Unfortunately I'm not as athletic as i used to be and I also have a minor knee issue, meaning that I have to take it much more slowly these days. Quite honestly, it probably takes me twice as long as most other people to get to the summit but I keep telling myself that slow & steady wins the race.....it just makes it feel like a far greater achievement when I do get to the top! There's plenty more summits left in me yet!!!
Great video James…
Must give 10m a go on SOTA too..
Some lovely audio out of the radio too. 👌🏻
Well done James, like the ending. Keep'em coming. When you can!! 7
Well done qualifying the Summit on 10m James. Judging by your QSO total for the activation that must have been some pile up on 20m.

Yep! I did do a short stint 40m as well but only made a few contacts on 40m. Most contacts were on 20m.
Another nice video James.
Thanks Kevin.
Great video James nice activation. Good to see to see Tom in the list.
👍🏽👍🏽 That little radio did well 👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thanks Motters.
