An alternative option would be to grab that lapel at the bottom of your ribcage with your free hand and pull it toward your waist while turning your head away from their body. It's an old school lapel choke defense and isn't perfect, but might work in this case as a last ditch defense. Especially since that grip is relatively weak and they might not be expecting it. Move, countermove? PS. I love this channel!
I think once the elbow hits the floor that, even if they pin their head to the floor, you can pull the lapel through and hit the choke. But I'm going to test that theory tonight
