Leaves make moderate anti-inflamatory as well. A particular acid in the leaves is a natural pain reliever, which was later synthesized into a purer form which we know as aspirin.
@crazymanstephen PS don't be confused, crazymanstephen is my other youtube identity, don't always remember who I'm signed in as when I post. Yeah, there are some nice willow basket videos on the right, better than any I am likely to make. more later
I am just starting out with willows and I have some I planted as sticks this spring. They are growing like crazy and are very pretty. I have some Purple something ( don't remember the name) but they are green. Maybe the color changes later? About how many years can I expect out of my plants? I see your root system looks many years old. Also can I select cut to harvest to leave canes in winter or is it best to cut it all? thanks so much for the video, really helps answer some other questions I had
Looking forward to seeing the basket.
Looking forward to seeing the basket making.
You could make a yurt and spend your summer nights in the orchard :)
Magnificent piece of nature. Its properties made their use quite easy!
What variety of willow are you growing?

I want to get willow for its benefits in mulch for my fruit trees. Susan Poizner has talked it up & it seems worth trying.
