  • In this video we see some afternoon peak hour action at Tarneit on V/Line's Geelong line between 4:42pm & 6:36pm. We see a variety of V/Line diesel passenger trains including modern Vlocity DMU's, Sprinter DMU's, N Class locomotive hauled trains and P Class push-pull trains. Not everything goes to plan though as heat restrictions and (then) ongoing issues with the Vlocity trains mean that a number of services are delayed or cancelled.
Tarneit station is one of the newest in Melbourne, opening on the 21st June 2015 on the Regional Rail Link which is the cities' newest rail line. Being located in Melbourne's growing western suburbs, Tarneit station has quickly grown to become the second-busiest station on the V/Line network with only Southern Cross being busier.
    Date: 4th March 2016.

Edward Gosstray thinking of moving but I hear crime is too high and see news of gangs robbing homes. Is it safe now? And what areas and estates do you like for safety

do these trains have to abide by the stupid 25km/h entry into the station rule? They seem to take a very long time to stop and depart again.

I'm not aware of any such rule. Keep in mind that there was temporary speed restrictions on the day I filmed this due to the hot weather so some trains were delayed and driving slower than usual.

I don't think so, all the trains take a while to stop and depart but I've seen trains blaze through Tarneit station as an express to Geelong/Melbourne
