- This is a 1.5KM long traditional commercial street, and all the architectures are ancient Chinese style.
It called the Changde River Street.
There're hundreds of restaurants and shops in this area, and people love to visit here at night.

The area of this city has been inhabited by humans since around 8,000 years ago.
In that time, the city has changed names several times, but it has been known as Changde since the 12th century.
The city is well known for the Battle of Changde during the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937-45) and the atrocities committed then by the Imperial Japanese Army.
In the past decade, the city has seen a massive construction boom.
New high-rises have sprung up, roads were rebuilt and new schools, parks and museums have opened.

It was a breathtaking ride. The mood was perfect. I love Changde. It seem to be a very romantic place. The illumination was just right. Loved the architecture of the buildings and the windy streets.
I could see myself living here and walking down the c streets and shop.

I love these commercial ancient city streets. The Chinese are so smart to preserve their rich architectural heritage while building state of the arts modern structures as well. Love it. I wish that Chinese homes are also build with this cultural sensitivity in mind. As an overseas Chinese, I have a very romantic feeling about ancient China due to its place in world history as one of the great civilizations. Are the majority people living in China interested in preserving that ancient architecture. I get the feeling that the overwhelming response is YES!
Yes, many Chinese homes have traditional cultural decorations, it's very common in China.

Oh that's a lovely walk :O.
It remember me what i see when it's christmas XD, lots of houses with store in them, many peoples, lights, nice music and all.
This whole place feel like its a christmas day or some kind of festival thing, very nice.
I like the whole old chinese style and when the light is all gold colored with the red walls and all, it look 100000% chinese XD, the two colors of China, the red and the gold , hahaha XD
(wich is also a bit the colors of christmas, the red and the gold for stars and all decorations.)

I m extremly surprised that the classic restaurant price is super cheap :O, usually when it's a place with lots of tourism and all, the price are very high. that restaurant must be super popular , a nice night, with beautiful style around and cheap price... a dream ! :D

15:08, i laughed with the man playing the bike game XD, i love this kind of game and on a cool night, that must be soo nice to play .
16:30 what is the thing with the big wheel ? is this like the traditional minigame where you launch the wheel and it give you what you win ? i remember have seen similar thing in some asian countries where you launch the wheel to know what you got and you can for exemple, get 1 food or 2 or 3... :D
When i see at the end the reflections of the city on the water, i think it must be super awesome to be on the opposite side of the river and look at the reflections in the water of this whole small old traditional city lights :O

Guess what? that's a famous soy sauce brand in China. We call it National Treasure Soy Sauce. It's very expensive and nice.

I love these traditional Chinese buildings and towns. China should build more of these in the cities. I really dislike the European styled buildings spread all over China especially the non colonial ones.
