This scene and Kengo's words actually make so much sense after Kyousuke confesses everything. Kengo was opposed to Kyousuke's plan of growing Riki and Rin stronger from the very beginning. He just wanted to recover his now invaluable time that has been lost to his competitive ambitions and spend his last fading days playing with them. Therefore when Riki and Rin prove strong enough to beat him, he simply breaks down seeing that all that effort did not make him invincible and he should have just spent his childhood playing instead of training, and that it is too late now to recover that lost time, and that all that's left to be done is seeing them off with a smile.
I have always thought there is a special bond between Kengo and Rin, just like there is between Masato and Riki. He sacrificed his life for her after all
Kengo and Kyosuke's confession that they had been happy and don't wanna disappear while crying maybe the saddest moment of this anime,along with Kurugaya disappearing. I cried a lot when Kengo said of course I had a happy life,I had friends like you..what more could I ask for? And also when Kyosuke said why reality is so harsh? Best moments!

jun maeda is so amazing all his works are so amazing and sad btw this anime is my favorite anime among his works. I remember watching it as a kid and it always felt magical now it feels even better:)

Visual Novel fans can tell the rushed scenes and alterations and tend to not like it. Also JC Staff was given a crap budget so the tv broadcast version looked like crap (they sort offixed it a bit for the BD's). That said the producer in charge of the project was prettymuch a fan himself. In fact,it was only because he pressured JC Staff's management that the project even got a second season.
@@LeonGun8 having played the visual novel myself, after watching the anime. Yeah you can tell it's rushed, and filler is a thing. But imo this show is amazing for what it is. The filler helps make the friendship of everyone more believeable and you really do get attached to the characters!
Guachi mingo In the ending that becomes the anime ending, it's implied Riki creates his own world where all his friends survived, even if they actually didn't - or something along those lines. It's not clear if it's all in his head or not. I was personally a lot happier with the anime ending.

Then he awoke with Rin and found out everyone did die. He proposes to Rin mentioning that he'll get stronger blah blah blah. Then they create a artifical world where Riki cures his narcolepsy and was able to save everybody. So was the world where Riki saved everybody a real one or a fake one? Cuz Riki created an artifical world to "cure" his narcolepsy.

OR you could argue that because of Key's fantasy logic, he somehow actually remade reality/went to a parallel timeline where he didn't have narcolepsy.
I never understood what the anime was about cause I was young when I watched little busters, now I feel like I wanna rewatch it but at the same time I dont wanna cause its so sad… :(

Their bus during school trip got into accident, all except Riki and Rin are presumed dead. Kyousuke asks the others in other dimension to prepare Riki and Rin in a world where they will be taught to face the harsh reality ahead of them (which their friends might die). During in that world, Riki and Rin are facing difficulties prepared by Kyousuke and friends so that if they manage to solve them, they are expected to be strong enough to keep living without their beloved friends. But at the end, Riki and Rin successfully saved their friends from the bus wrecked before it explode.
