Welcome to our series of vlogs where we will be renovating our early 1960's converted bungalow in the beautiful Kent countryside. This renovation will involve a lot of #DIY as we do like to get stuck in however we are not professionals in any way so these are not tutorials 😂. From experience renovating previous properties we know that we learn from our mistakes and pick up new tips, tricks and skills along the way. This is not going to be a quick turn around, we'll be doing this over the course of the next few years so thank you for coming along for the journey, hopefully we'll still have all our limbs, fingers and toes intact by the end of it 🤞🏼

The room looks absolutely beautiful. You’ve done an amazing job. I always admire how much DIY you and Simon can do. I’m hopeless. I moved flats in May 2022 and I definitely need some repairs done and I don’t have a clue.
The internet will show you how 🙌🏼 We learnt most of our skills from internet tutorials/advise over the years and some we both picked up from DIY savvy parents when we were younger. There are some things we won’t attempt like serious plumbing jobs, plastering (such an art 🙌🏼) and major electrics but most things we’ll have a crack at and I’m sure you could too 😘

Just what I needed on a chilly Sunday - an Emma and Simon DYI video! Great job, as always. Can’t go wrong with Joanna! I love how you’ve layered all the colours and textures. Very interested in the blinds, must check them out. Elegant, sophisticated and still welcoming and cosy at the same time. And there’s the black for contrast and grounding the room. Really enjoyed this one, guys! Well done, and beautiful result. Lovely to see Simon, however briefly, and hugs and pats to the doggos!

The result of your renovation is amazing ! I really like the neutral colours, but at the same time the addition of natural wood for the dresser and the baskets warms the atmosphere. I also love the bed linen with that cushions . Simplicity is perfection💕 lots of love from Italy💕

So so good!!! Perfect! I did the one night table because I also dislike matching things but I now feel I do need a table on the other side. I have little space so I am still looking for thin and fall night tables.
Yeh I’ll probably get something else for the other side so both sides have something to put their phone on or a glass of water but I’m in no rush. I’ll keep my eyes peeled and if something comes up and we can afford it then I’ll get it x

4 years a go I painted our brown upvc front door with zinsser All Coat in black. IT IS AMAZING!!! Best £20 I’ve ever spent, there isn’t 1 mark on it and even trades people often don’t believe I’ve painted it. There was plenty left and I used it on our garage door too. Just an idea if you want to paint your windows frame x
I’ve considered it but I don’t think it’s worth the time and effort because there’s no way to remove the leading, it double glazing so the lead is not only on the outside but also between the two panes of glass. The leading bothers me more than the colour so it just seems a bit pointless in this case x
