You aren't wrong, but just because it's an Epiphone doesn't automatically mean its cheap or not a quality guitar. A high end Epiphone will easily match a lot of Gibsons. Same goes for Squier.

If I had $120 to buy a guitar I'd go for a Squier bullet strat or mustang before I even considered some no name guitar for the same price. I've got a more high end Squier that is better than my Fenders

I toured the Gibson factory and they explained that Epiphone was really it's own company, just owned by Gibson. They said that Epiphone had actually made a lot of advancements that Gibson was just starting to implement at the time. This was probably five years ago but the Gibson employee straight up said that Epiphone had better electronics than Gibson.

+LshowKnows he usually has a Gibson Les Paul Jr, they were originally made for kids in the 50s. He actually has his own signature juniors, single cutaway in 3 colorways, they were produced from 2005 to 2012, then Gibson made TV yellow double cutaways in 2012. He almost exclusively uses vintage ones though, from 1955 to 1959, which are... pretty expensive (I'm talking about 5000-10000$), he only sometimes uses the 2012 signature BJ one. For old songs he of course uses Blue, a Fender stratocaster replica by Fernandes (they don't make them anymore). He has some more, like a Rickenbacher 360 and a Gretsch, not sure which though. Was bored so i though of just listing everything haha
