Love that man! and when I watched the Documentary I was glad to hear he was just as shocked at what they were covering and unveiling. That being said, I'm sad the producers treated him that way. I'm so glad my childhood was filled with people like him instead of the later years of Nickelodeon.
16:40 When he so casually says he was a regular at the Comedy Store with "Dave and Jay and Robin" - he's talking about David Letterman, Jay Leno, and Robin freaking Williams. This guy is a national treasure.
Great interview, guys and dolls! Thanx for bringing in such a great personality in Marc Summers. He’s an inspiration to always keep going. Stay safe everyone.
Quiet on the Set stands completely on the side of those who are preyed upon by Nickelodeon execs. But they’re ok with making it seem like someone is associated with Schneider when they didn’t work together at all. Classy. I hope Marc’s 3pm phone call was productive and it isn’t the last we’ve heard from him concerning this.
“Triple Dog Dare” with the adults 🤗🤗🤗 It’s absolutely genius!! Count me innnn 🙋🏻♀️ Edited to say *** he’s absolutely awesome, I grew up watching him and just his voice brings me comfort! Always will! Brings back so many great memories! I thank him for that & I hope he knows alot of people feel the same!
Marc ‘s interactions with us kids in the 90s is how a base my interaction with kids today. He’s right, it was the fact that he didn’t talk down to us, and included us in on the conversation. I see the appreciation and admiration from kids today because I don’t treat them like “just a dumb kid,” because these kids are far from dumb. A lot of parents say to me, “you don’t have to do that,” but to me, yes, yes I do, because it gives them the confidence to go interact with other kids. P.S. I always wonder what are the agendas with “documentaries” like Quiet On Set. Always makes me think something’s off.
Hear's the thing Mark Summer's was revealed years ago that he was the first person not to trust Dan Schneider, and he wanted him to leave. But since Dan was Nickelodeon's golden boy, the network said no, so Mark was the 1 who left Nickelodeon. So why is being quiet now something isn't right?
I'm on the side of Marc, clearly there was a demarc point between the slimy, game shows lots of us grew up, to the Dan Schneider era (of which I grew up on his shows too) and taking over the studios to produce those sick shows in retrospect. If the producers were more honest, I think Marc would been a great subject to show his days at the network and how it went the other way to the shallow end. That itself would've told an interesting story. Lots of kids who grew up with the Schneider shows probably dont' remember Nick Arcade, Family Double Dare, etc.
Where is his sympathy and empathy for what the kids went through? It's all "me, me, me, me, and more about me." I used this like this guy but I have lost ALL respect for him. So what if the interview wasn't what he expected. All I see is someone trying to save his ass for what, to work with pedophiles again?!? Disgusting.
I understand but at the same time though they should’ve been up front with him about what the documentary was about. He didn’t know Dan nor did he know the 2 guys that went to prison. So what does he have to add.
A lot of journalists are not honest when it comes to this stuff or do all their investigating. Kevin Spacey, not saying he's not creepy, but in every court case he was found innocent, as the "victims" stories did not line up, Aziz Ansari, it was a bad date. And then you had Amber Heard.
@@DrVVVinKyeah it's always to fit the narrative of the show. Even if the narrative is true (like for real I hope Brian Peck pays for his crimes severely) the producers should be truthful.
@@mrm64They should have also known ahead of time that he was not there during those years and not even interviewed him unless it was to get some prescriptive of how the station was before the BP and DS years. But no. Instead they made it seem as if he was there, and it seemed as if the producers wanted him to bad mouth the network
I’m kind of confused here. Always been a Marc Summers fan through Nick, Unwrapped, and even Workaholics work. But does anyone else feel like he has a whole peanut gallery cheering for every single thing he says? It’s also so timely with the accusations and the fact that they get dismissed so quickly is weird. Let’s be clear; I don’t have any blame on Marc, but this seems like a really weird talk track of the radio show for the situation that’s happening right now…and they’re all using it kind of as a publicity opp?
I saw Dan Schneider in head of class , ( they even showed when he lost a bunch of weight ) he was in better off dead .you can be in a place of work do your job and not know whats going on . my mom had the same happen to her .she had know idea a boss was flirting and grabbing at women .he didn't grab mom because he knew she wasn't like that . She testified she had heard what he'd done but was never witness to it and it never happened to her because he knew she wasn't that way . You clearly have no idea who marc summers was .
He talks about quiet on set at 24:26
Thank you!
Again, Mark was the first person to see through Dan Schneider he was vocal about it years ago. So why is he being quiet about it now
Who cares, the entire interview was fantastic!!
@@kaylariggs5188 because it’s a clickbait title and a lot of us want to hear him spill the tea lol
@@mayflower7811 I'm sorry the interview wasn't dramatic for you, and that Marc Summers had a positive experience working at Nickelodeon? Sheesh.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned "What Would You Do?"
I know! I used to watch that when I was a kid as well.
oh my god 40 years old and don't remember that like Helga from Hey Arnold saying once you get older the brain cells are the first to go?
OMG my favorite of all time!!! Seriously!

I know right?? I loved that show! That’s what I think of whenever I see Marc Summers.

WOW! Thank you Elvis Duran for visiting MArc Summers on your show. That was an awesome interview. I loved it ❤
Omg,Thank you for interviewing Marc Summers who represents Nickelodeon in the 80s when I was a kid!

"Bad puppet shows at 4 in the morning." He is talking about the show Pinwheel, which was also the original name of Nickelodeon.
I can play the theme song on the Piano! Creepy show though

I literally grew up with Mr Summers! When we first got cable lol!!! God Bless this guy wow❤
Marc and JD Roth having a meal together warms my heart. Would love to be a fly on the wall for one of those meals.
I see a lot of similarities between Marc and Elvis... well spoken, encouraging, honest, positive. Very cool dynamic between the two.
Hopefully not a pedo like Elvis.

He said he never met Dan Schneider at 25:46. Not everything is a conspiracy.
you need to edit again your last question made no sense .I've never heard him say he knew Dan Schneider you are talking outta your rear .
Great interview. Seems like a genuinely good guy.
i just love Marc. this was a wonderful interview ❤
I always respected Marc
Marc will be on Broadway one day
Makes you wonder if the CLL was related to all the slime and weird synthetic products on Double Dare.
Never seen this program before, but can the red haired chick please stop yelling "WOW" every 3 seconds?

How was he there, and didn’t know?
Summers was there from the mid-eighties to the early nineties. That's probably when Schneider was on "Head on the Class."
