Love your take in not pruning into the brown. I've seen so many do that or it becomes holy and the hedge looks like crap and your left thinking it probably should all be removed so I love that you took care. 😂

Thanks very much. This is a garden I've started looking after, so we're trying to get things squared up without going too brutal. I'm not sure if there's anything worse looking than a brown hedge. Maybe briars just!

Enjoyed the clip. Love the editing and the "sling-gizmo". The hedge is in good hands, Mate! Nicely done.

Thanks very much Mark! Still trying to get the hang of all the editing and camera stuff, so a bit of encouragement has given me a lift - thanks for that.

Hallo.

Well Noel! Its a great job, for the right job. Wouldn't really use it for facing (Except for tall stuff where you'd be holding the machine up for ages). Mainly use it for topping. Great for wide hedges that you're straining your back to reach the far side. Harness takes a lot of the weight out of the machine, so you're able to be a bit more relaxed/comfy doing the wide stuff. Even for some lower stuff, like a sharp/square privet (If you look at the wee hedge along the driveway in the tree topping video) its great for it as the harness holds the weight of the machine and you can really fly up it just rotating the machine and get a nice line without needing popeye.
It's not something you'd use at every hedge, and its not something you'd use for the whole hedge either. Takes a bit of getting used to, but does make certain jobs way easier. I tend to face the hedges, then stick the harness on and do the tops, so you're not on and off with it. Only really use it with the long reach.

An apprentice might be cheaper than the harness...
