Hey guys, I bought the one peace drive shaft and I installed it... got that very nasty vibration some are reporting at speed. The cause is the transfer case shaft and pinion angles are not setup for a drive shaft using universal joints. I haven't measure the actual angles at the transfer case end and the differential end but it is obvious they are not equal. When I look at the 2 peace shaft installed, the transfer case to the hanger bearing is aligned, and then the rear section of the shaft is angle slightly down to the rear diff. In order for the 1 peace shaft with u-joints to work, the angle of the diff needs to be tweaked "down" to the same angle of the transfer case shaft. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an easy way to tweak the pinion angle of the diff because of the way it is mounted onto the rear sub-frame. I am going to look into this more as I want the 1 peace shaft as the new 2 peace I installed only lasted 6 months for me. I think I might be able to adjust the front diff mount to change the angle.
Yes I agree I got a slight vibration when I installed the one peace driveshaft. I’m not sure if it was due to the fact that it wasn’t balanced correctly but I had to go back to a new stock unit and my Car Has been great since.
Great video! Inheriting my father in law's 2013 with the 3.6 engine. He was a diesel mechanic. Wish he was still alive to diagnose as we know nothing about cars. It sometimes makes a clunk when pulling out. Reminds me of a bad universal. Took it to the garage he got his cars inspected at and they couldn't find anything. They suggested some software upgrade. I doubt it. Any tips to troubleshoot this?
@@Frank_tha_tank1 its still very intermittent. Sometimes pulling out, I think sometimes maybe a few seconds after pulling out, sometimes not at all. About 110,000 miles on it. I believe they checked the cv's and said they were good. Probably going to have to wait until it gets worse or more frequent. Sounds like the clunk is coming from the rear when it does it.
@@Frank_tha_tank1 that’s how mines is making noise when bumper to bumper at light or pulling off from stop sign. How much was this driveshaft you have ?
@Geezygotabag008 driveshaft was about 550 back when I purchased it but start off by looking and your front differential mounts and rear mines were in really bad shape

It's been holding up good. but as other have stated its a hit or miss because some have experienced some slight vibration at high speeds. Due to that issue if you can find a used oem one in good condition do that.
yeah, it cleared the stock exhaust, and all the stock driveshaft covers. please this driveshafts comes with places you can grease up, so it won't fail.
i recently bought this shaft installed the first one just like how the video was shown but then nocticed that at high speed (80+) it would get a vibration so i thought maybe it was out of balance contacted wellbuilt about the issue and sent me out another one no questions asked installed this one and is still doing the same thing has any one had this issue
Where did you purchase this from? My daughter's jeep is having same issue and im not going to pay $600 for something that will fail again. The ebay link didn't work.
sorry I think the seller stop making this part due to some of the issues ppl were having such as the vibration at high speeds. I have a drive shaft if you are interested probably needs to be balanced.
Bro.. this video shined a huge light! I see you had issues with the after one you got, but I thought I was having prob with cv axle or bearings.. I found nothing! This vid got me lookin in hopefully the right spot now. Thank you

Is the clunk only when pulling off ? How many miles does the car have ? It can be a bad differential mount or even bad cv axles

I just bought this driveshaft for my 2011 JGC Laredo 5.7. Hopefully this will solve the clunk issue.
It’s a great investment but make sure to check your diff bushings and mounts they can also cause the same noise
@@Frank_tha_tank1 I have this clucking noise when I pull off from a red light or a stop is the same noise you were having?
@Geezygotabag008 is it just when you pull off a light ? My was making a noice only when I was in bumper to bumper traffic and on lights
