Honey Lee I can say this comment is true, I haven’t been to a Korean resteraunts where adults slurp (kids do but their kids and that doesn’t bother me, well, slurping in general doesn’t bother me) but yeah. But I’m in America so maybe it’s different in Korea
Completely untrue, the idea that it's kinda rude to not slurp is only true of Japan. Having lived in both, table manners and eating styles and etiquette are very different. In Korea, many places will actually cut your noodles so as to make them small enough to bring them all to your mouth without the need to slurp. Mainly only children do it and are scolded by their parents, but manners can often fly out the window in restaurants. In addition, when going to ramen places in Korea, people will often slurp because of it being "the Japanese thing to do", but if you are to go to say a kalguksu place, slurping heavily will be seen as bad manners. But, if you go to a cheap restaurant with salary men drunk and yelling at say 10 pm on a weekend, then slurping is probable, because no one cares. People not caring about slurping in certain situations is very different to "assuming you're not enjoying your meal." I don't know who told you Koreans like slurping, but they were either misinformed or were trolling you. I hope you stop slurping soon, because you might be seen as the loud foreigner in noodle places you frequent and the Koreans prefer to talk about how rude you are and laugh rather than tell you about what you're doing. It's the same thing with on the subway, when you're on Line 6 with all the foreigners going to Itaewon and they are super loud, koreans tend to not say anything or talk in Korean about how loud the rude foreigner is. Please don't be a stereotype, while watching what the Koreans are doing, make sure to ask a korean friend if that's actually the right thing to do or if they're being rude. Just because we see Americans cutting people off in traffic doesn't mean it's not considered rude here, be careful of attributing rudeness to cultural differences and make sure to get someone to clear things up for you.
You have made a mistake, introducing poor Ryo there to the TH-cam populace. 😂😂 He has fangirls for dayysssss now. Great video, as usual! (: Loved the illegal censored ID ramen part bahaha.

@@thesaltygamer1204 Yeah, that's what they say but that's not what they do. Or maybe only the ones who are around "gaijin" a lot tend to use this word less than other Japaneses, idk.
I like the editing, it's really funny sometimes, but at the same time I think it's "too much" of it. Like make pauses between the funny parts to like give people some time to "breath"
It is funny that you commented on the editing. The style reminds me a bit of how Ruby Rod segments in the Fifth Element are cut, particularly with the music. I love it :)
if you don't drop anything (spilling, crumbling) and hold tight to your garbage (don't have wrapping waving in the wind...), you should be fine. Keep looking for a bin, although they are rare, or bring your garbage home.
Sylvain Piche yeah, my friend dropped her garbage because she couldn't find a bin and a lady started yelling at her. I told her before she shouldn't take a drink out.
When one sneezes - we sometimes say Odaijini (お大事に Take care). Slurping noodles - I do not think slurping for showing that you're enjoying the meal. It is just the way to do so. Bringing bowls up - You should do it unless they are flat plates or dishes. You cannot crouch down onto your bowls. Ring-cutter - I had that experience. Most Japanese don't know that the fire stations have that service. I had to have a MRI, so all rings had to removed. One wouldn't go. The people at that station said they used their ring-cutter once or twice a year at average. (Of course, the ring was totally destroyed.)
Hi! We have the same name! YAY! LOL.Actually ,slurping noodles looks tasty to japanese ( the sounds of it ,they find it appealing! I don't,but do understand). So,they are right about that!Though, they do that naturally as well.Again not me.lol. Your story of ring cutting service at a fire station is the 2nd one I have read on you tube!!! Bummer that you had to go through with that & destroyed your ring! Did you try soaps & oil? Just curious! 💜
When I was younger, one of my babysitter was this really pretty Japanese girl (I had a slight crush on her... I just now realized I’ve been bi since I was a child...) who would slurp noodle every time we had take out. We (my sister and I) thought it was cool so we copied her and it annoyed the crap out of my parents and a lot of other people lol. Now, we still slurp noodles. I honestly don’t see anything wrong with it (don’t people groan when they eat food... I feel that’s more inappropriate than slurping noodles).
Klysee T It just sounds like "Bad manners" in other countries. Like, speaking with your mouthfull, not saying "thanks" to someone who held the door you, and other things like that. But manners are cultural that's what this video teaches you. Btw cool story ;)
Saphira Tamaki You should never go to Japan than if you think it ‘sounds gross.’ Also, what’s the reason for saying ‘because’? I didn’t ask for an answer or a mere response. You could have just stated what you thought.
I misread something, thats why I sead because. I just thik its sounds gross and unappaticing. Its just.. i dont know it gives me the chilles but in a bad way... i dont know.. i dont really like when people are smacking eather. Its just so irretating. And I never heard of groaning while eating? That really sounds weird. i´m really sorry if I misunderstood something, englisch isnt my mother thounge.
Saphira Tamaki No problem. Besides, a lot of Americans groan when they taste something really good. I find that more unappetizing and gross sounding than slurping. Actually, it’s more like moaning than groaning. In fact, all over TH-cam where people try food that they later come to love, they moan... a lot.
Off-the-wall editing is cool, but this video uses it way too much. Remember that people watch these videos to learn, so remember to not go off-topic too often.
I pretty much do most of this stuff right here in America actually funny story I once got completely drunk while fishing at a public lake an instead of driving I decided I'd go to sleep in the bed of my truck when the officer came he shined this light in my face an told me I wasn't allowed to sleep in my truck to which I replied... it's called a bed for a reason... I got arrested for it but when I took it to court the judge dismissed the entire case stating that I actually did the right thing by not driving
ddcs0s You were arrested because you told that cop that? Is that officer for real? Atleast you weren't driving! I bet he hasn't made an arrest in a while and wanted to do it so bad. Officers will arrest anyone for the smalleat reasons. Good people, they protect the citizens. But, that doesn't mean they aren't fucking annoying. Cops are retarded.
I think the reason you were arrested was because you were at a public place and it was most likely illegal to camp there (unless it was camping site in which case you need to pay for it and have verification forms) so you got arrested for that.
Oh boy... I new the moment I saw Ryo's bouncy hair people would react like that. Restraint ladies ya can't let the man know you're crazy yet! XD On another note it was a mistake to watch this without noodles nearby.
I actually really like the editing style. You guys are really nice and make real good videos who are so damn interesting. I watch all of you because I want to go to japan.
I paused at 12:51 and went to heaven - yeah, I have a huge thing for beautiful Japanese guys having their eyes cast down like that, and Ryo's face is like a fine work of art, the best angle ever! =)
Perfect lol. Same as Kat, it was adorable watching my ex-pat mom teach our british family how not to politely mangle their chicken wings and pizza with a knife and fork.
when i was a kid, i was told that you say “bless you” after someone sneezes because supposedly their heart stops for that short milisecond that they sneeze lol
Sky even so know one will die from a sneeze, the whole "bless you" thing started centuries ago people thought the devil could take control of you while your sneezing unless someone says bless you
Japan has different beliefs and different culture to other people. So they dont say "bless you" after someone sneezes because they just... didnt really believe the same superstitons
you can do most of this in portugal. we drink in public, there's always smoking sections in restaurants and shopping malls, you usually ask cops for directions if they're around, they wont have a problem helping you (unless they're holding assault weapons, you leave them alone. those are usually assigned for extra security in large events or certain government buildings). you can also read at book stores. there are even confy couches and even reading sections. you can sleep outside, though you probably won't be waking up with your phone.
Coroi Radu-Adrian Somewhere in Europe (I think it was Denmark), police are obligated to give teddy bears to crying children that in crime scenes, accidents, etc.
Just as a small helper to explain why some countries have a phrase to say when someone's sneezing: Sneezing was a sign that someone could potentially be getting sick. At these times even a normal flu could kill you. So they were just "blessing" them and hoping everything would be alright for them.
In Germany we say "Gesundheit!" after someone sneezed. It means we wish for them to stay healthy. The funny thing is, that a few years ago there was a big agenda to change from wishing health to actually apologize for sneezing and everyone got mad about it, because you can't really control sneezing and it's nothing that one should be sorry for. People ignored this advice and still say "Gesundheit!" ^^
I thought so too since there are those things that are done in Japan Edita. Pinching girl's bottoms and looking up their dresses on the subway. Prostitution by law in Japan means having intercourse and paying for it. All other sexual things you can pay for and it is not considered prostitution. I think this is because the Japanese are concerned a Japanese prostitute will have a child. Those Japanese girls you hooked up with while doing business with the a Japanese company did not meet you by chance. She works for the company. When you go into the other room to discuss issues away from the Japanese, the room will be bugged so they can listen as to what you say. Most Japanese men who have any money at all always have a mistress. Sex between married couples after having a child is fairly rare in Japan. Maybe that is why they have mistresses.
gabriella joyce You have use ur mouth 👄 to suck them up, chopsticks 🥢 are there just to lift the noodles out of the broth so you dont deep ur face in !
lane1953 It's better than China. The culture makes it so people won't want to help you at all. Basically, if you bring someone to the hospital or be the one to help them... you're also financially responsible for their medical bill.
What's funny is, she is so young she doesn't know that restaurants in the U.S. used to allow smoking. That only stopped in the last 30 years. We read magazines at Barnes and Noble. I've never seen it stopped. When did Americans stop drinking beer or alcohol at picnics?
Slurping ramen and other hand made noodles is a great way to inhanse the flavour of the noodles and the multi layered broths. And is considered a great compliment. Showing respect for all the time and effort they put into your meel
love Japan. some of the things that I noticed when I go there is that people going up escalators always stand to the side even if it's not busy so that way people who are in a rush can go past. I also noticed that in Tokyo there is really almost no trash on the ground but there's also very few trash barrels anywhere. as I was told is that people are very conscientious about the trash and they will actually bring it to their home, to a restaurant or to wherever the destination is or whenever they do find a garbage Barrel and then throw the garbage out. this is amazing.
Grew up as in lived there from 5 to 13, and when I moved back to the States it was a bit of a culture shock. I heard a lot of horror stories about America but they weren’t really true lol
"In other countries"? The US isn't other countries, it's a weird place. In most countries you can drink in public. The USA have these weird rules that make absolutely no sense. Biggest porn industrie but no nudity, prostitution illegal as long as noone is filming it. Bleeping out words EVERYONE from the age of 5 on knows what actually has been said or putting liquor into paper bags so everyone knows you're drinking liquor.
I've been to may european countries where public drinking is forbidden. Here in Norway you get a ticket if you drink public (but some take the chance anyway) ;) And yeah, we have special stores (Polet) for buying alcohol over 4.7%, and it closes early, and all alcohol sale at food stores closes 8 pm in week days, 6 pm on saturday, and is illegal to sell on sundays :P
Kinga... B20C0 is correct when they said "most countries"... and even though there are ~195 countries in the world, for some unknown reason you decide to jump in and correct him because you know of at least TWO countries where you can't. So, what about the other 60 countries you've been to? Oh, that's right, you haven't, but you get up on your soapbox to big note yourself as if you have. Doh! Only do so when you can speak with authority and know you are right.
You left your phone at the station and still found it? In South Africa if leave your phone unattended for a minute. You are guaranteed to never see it ever again.
Hahaha. I am from South Africa. I love my country. But living in a country where 50% of the youth population is unemployed means you avoid passing out in public places and leaving your valuables lying around. It tends to get taken by someone who needs it more than you. I can't count the number of phones I have lost on one hand.
Reason I like the smell of smoke: legit reminds me of Japan. I probably will never smoke but when I catch a whiff of it it reminds me of Japan. One of our trips our first step outside in Japan was right next to a smoking lobby, outside of the airport of course, and we had to wait there for a bus.
Kemsy no I know that very select places allow this like special events but you can't go down the street drinking. Think about American culture where you see people drinking from the brown paper bag, it's to cover up the bottle.
I live in France and I'm pretty sure we're allowed to drink outside without the brown paper bag but I only see people who are already drunk do it, so...

I also like how Japanese people call "gaijin" basically everyone who's not Japanese, even when they are travelling. Like, bitch please, when you're in my country, don't call people "gaijin" when you are the gaijin here... 😒
@@shizukagozen777 Which is weird because I have been told that the use of the word is actually frowned upon now.
@@thesaltygamer1204
Yeah, that's what they say but that's not what they do. Or maybe only the ones who are around "gaijin" a lot tend to use this word less than other Japaneses, idk.
The editing is what brought me to the channel early on.
And the content is what has kept me here.
Keep it coming!
+Tokyo Lens :)
I like the editing, it's really funny sometimes, but at the same time I think it's "too much" of it. Like make pauses between the funny parts to like give people some time to "breath"
i don't think we need to tell Ryo that he's cute.......
i think he already knows that, and not only cute, but also handsome ^-^
yeah... I love Japanese people... ryo looks cool
Oh so he's good at slurping...
... *interesting*

MORE RYO!! also the editing is funny keep making videos like this ty
this video is the definition of editing overkill.
DutMasterSmut And we love it.
I was about to comment please find a new editor 😂😂😂
It is funny that you commented on the editing. The style reminds me a bit of how Ruby Rod segments in the Fifth Element are cut, particularly with the music. I love it :)
Youve never seen shitposts have you?
its exactly the amount of editing I like
It's actually disrespectful to eat or drink as you walk down the streets of Japan..
not really...
if you don't drop anything (spilling, crumbling) and hold tight to your garbage (don't have wrapping waving in the wind...), you should be fine. Keep looking for a bin, although they are rare, or bring your garbage home.
But it's fine to pee in public when drinking
Sylvain Piche yeah, my friend dropped her garbage because she couldn't find a bin and a lady started yelling at her. I told her before she shouldn't take a drink out.
yes, exactly. ;)
@shift taz Hey! Genki!? You speak Japanese? I teach Japanese conversation!👍🏻👍🏼💜
Klysee T because it sounds gross
Saphira Tamaki You should never go to Japan than if you think it ‘sounds gross.’
Also, what’s the reason for saying ‘because’?

Jerky's COC My opinion exactly. She babbles way too much!!
Ryo, this may seem a bit awkward coming from another guy but... You look very presentable. Ryo, please help make more videos.
Fuck cops
It's your truck. Why are you not allowed to sleep in it?
I think the reason you were arrested was because you were at a public place and it was most likely illegal to camp there (unless it was camping site in which case you need to pay for it and have verification forms) so you got arrested for that.
Nice. I didnt get arrested but i have taken a bit of a nap on a sidewalk up the road from a bar. I didnt quite make the walk home.

Eating miso soup with a spoon is like eating tacos with a fork
BellumXyz lol well my grandparents use eat pizza with knife and fork...
Katherine Canon you do that in a fine dining Restaurant, if you are having a really good pizza
I've seen people eat salads with tea spoons O-O
Perfect lol. Same as Kat, it was adorable watching my ex-pat mom teach our british family how not to politely mangle their chicken wings and pizza with a knife and fork.
Katherine Canon
I mean I do that to not get my fingers dirty.
when i was a kid, i was told that you say “bless you” after someone sneezes because supposedly their heart stops for that short milisecond that they sneeze lol
Joeleen Macapagal it does
söe yeah
Sky even so know one will die from a sneeze, the whole "bless you" thing started centuries ago people thought the devil could take control of you while your sneezing unless someone says bless you
No no no, all wrong. A sneeze is your soul trying to escape from your body OBVIOUSLY so blessing you gets gods attention to bitch smack your soul back
Japan has different beliefs and different culture to other people. So they dont say "bless you" after someone sneezes because they just... didnt really believe the same superstitons
Anyone else watching this in 2019?
Yes. It makes a difference?

you can do most of this in portugal. we drink in public, there's always smoking sections in restaurants and shopping malls, you usually ask cops for directions if they're around, they wont have a problem helping you (unless they're holding assault weapons, you leave them alone. those are usually assigned for extra security in large events or certain government buildings). you can also read at book stores. there are even confy couches and even reading sections. you can sleep outside, though you probably won't be waking up with your phone.
Asking policeman for directions should be implemented by law everywhere in the world.
Coroi Radu-Adrian Somewhere in Europe (I think it was Denmark), police are obligated to give teddy bears to crying children that in crime scenes, accidents, etc.
Great
Just as a small helper to explain why some countries have a phrase to say when someone's sneezing: Sneezing was a sign that someone could potentially be getting sick. At these times even a normal flu could kill you. So they were just "blessing" them and hoping everything would be alright for them.
thats interesting, thanks for the explanation!
Bless you and may God have mercy on your soul.
Hitsugix unless you sneeze directly onto someone then you'd better apologize lol.

Edita Zilinskyte i actually came here for that😏
Deadass. I literally clicked t we what was up with those thick girls on the counter 😏
Edita Zilinskyte
👅👅👅🐈🐈🐈😍😍😍
Youre so hot! Is that really you?
Maybe that is why they have mistresses.

lane1953 It's better than China. The culture makes it so people won't want to help you at all. Basically, if you bring someone to the hospital or be the one to help them... you're also financially responsible for their medical bill.

love Japan. some of the things that I noticed when I go there is that people going up escalators always stand to the side even if it's not busy so that way people who are in a rush can go past.
+Michael yes that's true
The whole escalator thing is the same in France and Spain I noticed when i visited
That escalator thing also happens in America :D!

"In other countries"? The US isn't other countries, it's a weird place. In most countries you can drink in public.
The USA have these weird rules that make absolutely no sense. Biggest porn industrie but no nudity, prostitution illegal as long as noone is filming it. Bleeping out words EVERYONE from the age of 5 on knows what actually has been said or putting liquor into paper bags so everyone knows you're drinking liquor.
can't drink in public in many european countries ex. Poland or Scandinavia (they have even regulated hours of selling booze)
u mean u can except in poland u got that the other way ^^
I've been to may european countries where public drinking is forbidden. Here in Norway you get a ticket if you drink public (but some take the chance anyway) ;)
And yeah, we have special stores (Polet) for buying alcohol over 4.7%, and it closes early, and all alcohol sale at food stores closes 8 pm in week days, 6 pm on saturday, and is illegal to sell on sundays :P
In Greece (where l live) and Bulgaria l visited recently every one drinks on the streets, parks etc. Alcohol is sold every where too

I probably will never smoke but when I catch a whiff of it it reminds me of Japan. One of our trips our first step outside in Japan was right next to a smoking lobby, outside of the airport of course, and we had to wait there for a bus.
