  • Half Assini in Jomoro Municipal District, also known as Awiane, it is a small town and is the capital of Jomoro Municipal District, a municipality in the Western Region of Ghana. It is the hometown of Kwame Nkrumah's father. Krumah, the first president of Ghana, had attended elementary school at Half Assini. The town is closer to the western border of Ghana, and is known for its beautiful beaches. One of Half Assini's chiefs, Anthony Kwaw, was best friends with Ghana's first president in school.

    Good old Half Assini.
If it was in my powers here are a few things i would change.
In the residential areas there needs to be more trees and greenery. Too much concrete raises temperatures. Trees reduce temperature and create much needed shade.
There are no footpaths. So some of the principal roads should become one way systems, so that a portion of the road is set aside for pedestrians and cycles or scooters. Such a small town bicycles and greener transport should be encouraged.
I understand that in Ghana byelaws state when you buy a plot to build a certain portion of that plot is set aside as a thoroughfare. This is clearly not enforced and thus we have buildings right on the edge of roads. This byelaw needs to be enforced. Footpaths could be created from recycled tyres instead of tarmac.
Finally i would create a building exclusion zone along the shore. No new buildings can be erected within say 50 to 100 metres of the shore. This would protect the coastline and also ensure everyone has access to the sea and beach. No one built the beaches so there should be no private beaches.
We can do a lot better.
One often overlooked fact about Half Assini and this part of Ghana, is that it connects to a small portion of Cote d'Ivoire which cannot be reached by land from any part of Cote d'Ivoire itself. You can onlt get to the rest of Cote d'Ivoire by boat crossing the large lagoon.

Bros will pick this City over Others, because this was Planed in the olden days before Ghana indipendance, Look at the Layout, even the Capital Accra is Not Plan Like this prestigeous City.
