    Glad that those parents were held accountable. Don't have kids if you don't want to be responsible for them. Well...unless you live in Arizona, because even if you would be a lousy parent you may have no choice. I wonder if that could be a future defense?

      Many women will go toxic if they have a miscarriage. This is cruel not to allow abortion help to women having a miscarriage. Unjustified!

    There are two sides to every issue. Being imprisoned for 'not having control over another human being' is a bit concerning. Human beings don't have wires, or a remote control. _You_ can't just flip a switch and have that other human under your control. Yeah, *your* kids had normal brains - so *you* were able to form your child. But, until you've been a parent of a child who is clearly defective, you wouldn't understand to what extent there is little to nothing that you can do to *_force_* the brain of another human being to do something. Unless you imprison that child 24/7/365, you simply cannot control the brain and actions of another human being.

      As parents they had all the control. They didn't have to purchase him a gun. They could have listened to his concerns. They could have listened to the teachers concerns. They had every chance to do the right thing and chose to do the wrong thing and then get up in the middle of court and say they wouldn't change a thing that they did.

    • @hughchambers7069
      @hughchambers7069 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So why buy him a gun if you can not control him

    • @gatsbylight4766
      @gatsbylight4766 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@hughchambers7069 - For the same reason that *you,* or any other parent buys their child a *car* when they turn 16 - despite that fact that the child will later drive recklessly and get into an accident: Because *you can't predict the future actions of another human being.*
      OBVIOUSLY, if you knew your kid was going to drive reckless one night and cause an accident, you wouldn't have gotten him the car. Likewise, there are MANY parents who let their young children have guns... and OBVIOUSLY (hopefully), if they could *predict* that their child would shoot someone, they wouldn't have let the child have a gun.
      To be clear, "I" personally wouldn't let a teenage child of mine have a gun. But, the world doesn't revolve around *_me_* - so I understand that other people do have different perspectives.

      True. I had a daughter who just would not obey me. After appropriate appropriate discipline, I honestly didn’t know what to do. I got her mental healthcare from age 5 for ADD. I sent her to Brat camp (Remember that) but nothing worked. She grew up to be an alcoholic and drug abuser and she had little respect for the law. She’s been in and out of jail. She has NEVER voluntarily listened to me. She never learned from her mistakes. It’s terrifying!

    Just on one comment made, viability for a foetus delivered at 14 wks is dire. The resultant foetus is unlikely to survive, even at 20wks it is a massive fight to save the infant and often there is lifelong medical consequences for that child should they even survive.

    parents need the right to discipline children without interference, as long as they are reasonable, and the school system needs the right to discipline as well, as long as its reasonable what the discipline is in response to.
    There are some things, I have heard some schools try to punish kids over that are ridiculous, as well as some things pushed on kids that are wrong.
    Our entire culture is torn in chaos and no one seems to have a proper solution to fix everything. Maybe we all need to work on a way to work together for a greater good we can all agree on?

    Religion is in a negative spotlight more today than ever before because they have gone political. Not long ago it was considered unseemly to openly question religion; but once it became political, it became fair game. Freedom of religion was a sacred right of every American, but once Evangelicals tried to force their religious dogma into law to coerce everyone to live accordingly, that got people's dander up. They began to openly challenge religion and question its grounds to make such demands. Christianity's greatest weakness is that once people begin to question it, it unravels like a knitted sweater. The next thing you know, people are questioning god's existence.
