I bet the advert had loads of pictures from the outside at different angles and interior but not a single clear photo of the under carriage.
3:30 theres a hole at the CA mount. That's a scrap pile. That's gonna need so much welding and fab work done all for a 2.5.
its important to go look at any vehicle. never buy sight unseen.
lol I have done that twice now Joe
@@KyleSVT and you got lucky.
I’ve owned my tj for about 3 years now took me 4 years to find one only thing I cared about was the frame and even with buying one with a good frame my buddy whose a welder has saved my jeep and saved me so much money on multiple occasions especially if you off-road paint it and wash it as much as you want it’s going to rust like crazy I love my tj but know before buying one you’ll be battling rust
Had to press play right away!
TJs are rust buckets, They do make frame repair because the bottom of the frames rust out on them, its a bit of a pain, but if you can weld they make slightly oversize frames that slide over the old frame, cut the bottom of the old frame off, slide the new one over and weld it up. Its a pain, probably not worth it for a 4 banger though. My advice is to not look for a TJ in the rust belt of the US
Mine has been in Ohio it's whole life. No welds, and it's perfectly fine. Original frame and torque boxes.
@@bubbashubbs298 yeah I just finished welding up my second TJ frame a few weeks ago here in IL, the fact that multiple companies makes the frame kit is pretty telling.
It's savable but only interesting if you could get it for 1000 or so. 4 banger is a fun driver but resale is low
maybe worth looking for one in salt free states and having it shipped it what am going to do for my next tj
💯
being a 2.5 and 6k with the frame and body rust is a no go!
I can’t get my led turn signal on my 2000 to work
They knew about the rust if they painted over it
Bro that jeep is fawked
that frame looks super rusty. body mounts are either gone or are near gone. i'd stay far far away from something like that.
100%
No 2.5 is worth 6k unless its absolutely rust free low mileage and in mint shape.
I have a 2001 TJ 167k miles 4.0 in red. Located in Iowa. Asking $6000. Lmk if you want more info!
Shoot me an email Info.kylesvt@gmail.com. Send some pics and details on it.
Just found your listing. Looking for a manual. Would have been perfect for him tho
@@KyleSVT dang! Sounds good, lmk if he’s interested! Keep the TJ videos coming
Thanks dude! Will do
@@KyleSVT I found it too. It needs body mounts as well. Not worth 6.
I have a ‘98 6-cylinder with 93k miles. No rust.

@@KyleSVT
looking for a manual. Thanks for commenting tho
I’d be staying away from this. That rear control arm mount looks sketch!
Plus a 2.5l 180k miles at 6k idkkkkk
yeah 1.5k max
Completely agree hard pass for me as well
That’s a bit sketch
Why would anyone want a 4 cylinder? They are useless and have horrible resale value!
