bro, you got that etymology wrong, The Greek prefix "para-" indicates beside or side by side (as in "parallel"); hence, a paraprofessional is one who works alongside a professional, while being a professional themselves. Like in Parapsychology, Paranormal or paramedic. We also use it like that in Spanish, it is not from the verb parar.

how to get para certificate?
I googled places by me that were doing the test and that’s it
Hi Tito. I have a Para ESE physical demand test coming up. What are some preparation tips you'd suggest?
Go online and search up practice tests for para
Do a few of those per day u should be fine
When I took the test it wasn’t hard
But yet again I’m in jersey
Goodluck
@@titohustles thank you.
I like this video you are very knowledgeable about being a paraprofessional
Kim Nelson thanks I appreciate it
Thank you for all the advice,I recently move from NY to Fl and worked as a teacher assistant for quite a while so moving to Fl now I have to take the para professional exam to continue working in the school field so what would you recommend, thanks!
Wow that’s awesome your going to Florida I’m in jersey it’s cold out here lol but yeah if the the school requires to take the exam then take it and u should be good to go
My school didn’t require it but I still took it anyways and got the job
@@titohustles I am already in Florida and I really don’t know if all the schools ask for the certificate I’ve heard that depending on the county so I’m just gonna take it because the one from NY is about to expire
@@ginaagaray-castro6914 no prob
It’s better to have it than not have it
I’m sure everything will work out for you
Hi! Is the ParaPro test hard? Any tips on the test and studying for it?
Plus I was a bus aide ... I miss that job ...
What are u doing now?
@@titohustles I'm In California trying to renew my license...I was license in Illinois...
@@marquesdickson5417 that’s what’s up I was just in California a few months ago
If only Cali was cheaper I would live there lol
I’m no longer a para
I started my own business right after quitting but very thankful for that opportunity
@@titohustles man that's good shit ... And yeah it is extremely pricey....
What do bus aides do?
What about Bus Para 1:1? I might begin doing this after the mid winter recess. I was a regular 1:1 para for a student with spec needs.
I’m not sure about bus para 1:1
Never even heard of it to be honest with you
Let me know how it goes though
Hello my friend, nice video. Question, what is the difference between Paraprofessional and Substitute Parapprofessional. Thank you in advance for your response
Substitute paraprofessional is the one who covers for the paraprofessional
If I were u I would try to be the para instead of the substitute the pay is better
@@titohustles . Thank you Tito, I was looking for a substitute paraprofessional because I do not have experience. Do you think , as a paraprofessional can I find a full-time job ? I live in Georgia- Norcross, is the pay same like your state?
As a paraprofessional, how do I get into Parapro Special Ed ? I mean do they ( School) training me?
@@DavidDiaz-tw8wz right so what worked for me was I started off as a substitute teacher and I worked in every position possible to get experience..... if your first started off in this field go as a sub teacher and follow my steps until u can decide what works best for you.... it took me a awhile to make up my mind....I’m not sure what the pay by you is but check online every city Is different
So let’s say I don’t work in the summer will they pay me for the whole summer like other teachers .
Depending on district maybe
They ask if you want to divide your salary into 10 or 12 months. So you have to decide if you want to take home more the months you’re working or take home less during those months and get a paycheck during summer months. When you do that the pay feel really 👎🏻
It's smaller paycheck if you split into 12 months.
My first day is the 12th I'm so excited
Congrats 👏
What type of para are u? 🤔
@@titohustles thank you
How is it working out for you?
Amazing
Hello Tito when looking at this position in indeed for a school district. How will I know if is for a one -one to work with a student. Would the school let me know or I have to ask them when there interview is me?
On indeed they normally won’t post all of that there but u would ask them in the interview on what type of para position is available
Hi Mr. Hustle, I just want to ask do you mean all the paraprofessional positions are for special needs? But why in my school district the opening positions show there are both paraprofessional jobs and special education paraprofessional jobs? Thank you
There are several types of paraprofessionals
Depending on where they put u at
This is how they did it in my school
One to one
Intervention
Behavior disorder
Autism special Ed
Not sure how they do it in your school
Every school is different 🤷♂️
@@titohustles Got you! Thank you so much for your kind replying.
It breaks my heart to hear kids are but on meds. I understand at some cases it might be needed, but its disturbing how this is increasing.
Anyways, thank for the video.
It is what it is 🤷♂️
Thank you for the info. You gave a awesome summary of what to expect. I was unaware that I might have to deal with kids on Meds.
@@lucerolucerito6041 thanks I appreciate that 👏
I’m happy that this video can help somebody else out 🙏
I remember when I was getting started I wish there was a video like this out there lol
What did you get paid as a Para? Would you be willing to share the resume you used to get your first Para job? Also, I understood I have to first be a substitute Para to move on but I only see Para postings. Did you experience something similar? I read that as a start sub, I'm supposed to contact schools I want to work with directly.... how did you discover the schools you wanted to work with?
My resume is regular and nothing out of the ordinary I literally just copy and posted from google. I started off as a substitute teacher and got my experience from that and then went on indeed or linked to get the full time para job
Can you give examples of you interview question when you get this job position?
It’s really general questions like about
Your experience
What will you do in certain situations
Pay rate
Work hours
Interview is not hard it’s pretty simple questions you should be good to go
Hello Tito, I hope you are doing well with your family. Question; Since I do have enough credits hours t and be able to apply for a substitute teacher or a paraprofessional , do you recommend me to take " The Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE)? ". because I have the feeling that I want to get into the education field right away , but also I do have the feeling that I need to take the test, to proof myself that I know the subjects very well and not screw up to the kids with ( math, writing and reading ). what is your advice? should I take the test " assestment test. Thank you
U should ask the school you want to work for
On what qualifications you need to work for the school....every school is different but double check with the district first before doing anything maybe u can work right now as is....u don’t need a degree or credit to work for a school u can use your high school diploma but double check with them first
Hope this helps you
Associates degree!
So you're saying that "Paraprofessional" means "stop professional"? I don't think that sounds right...
WHAT lol u really commented that 😂
If you don’t mind me asking what is a normal salary range for paraprofessionals in NJ
Depends on district but $17k-35k
Where in New Jersey?
Linden
I'll be back;)
bro, you got that etymology wrong, The Greek prefix "para-" indicates beside or side by side (as in "parallel"); hence, a paraprofessional is one who works alongside a professional, while being a professional themselves. Like in Parapsychology, Paranormal or paramedic. We also use it like that in Spanish, it is not from the verb parar.
Hi Tito! Can you share some information with me that how to renew TA certification? Because it has to be renewed after three years. Should I renew it only by myself or I should ask my school to help? Thank you in advance for your response.
Hi how are u?
U should renew it yourself
I think it’s easier that way
Instead of getting the job involved
I feel it may take longer to renew if u ask your job
@@titohustles Thanks for your prompt reply! Then how can I renew it on my own? could you please guide me through the steps? I'm in NY, I believe it's the same steps as NJ. Thanks again!
@@jingchen1717 to be honest not really to sure
Because I never renewed mine
I started a business after my school job and never looked back but I would check online really 🤷♂️
@@titohustles I appreciate it! I will check it online. Many thanks!
Did you ever stay after school with students in clubs as a paraprofessional?
Kiley Thomas no I didn’t but if you wanted to work extra hours they have after care well at least my school did which was from 4-6:30....,but I couldn’t work that after working from 8:30-3:30 lol I was drained ...... some parents look for tutors so you can pick up more side jobs like that
Can u talk about your interview process
Sure
It was simple really
They asked me a few questions about my experience and why do I want to work there

How did you go about becoming a Para in Jersey. I know the process is less tedious than NYC. I looked up the requirements and I have an associates degree so I do qualify. I just don't know how to start the process of looking for a job.
Great question
I basically just checked online for requirements
Then I saw that some schools require para pro certification so then I took it for it could look better on my resume but not all paras have this and need this to get hired
Then I started looking for jobs online then got called for me interviews and eventually got hired but no longer in the field anymore due to starting my own business
