Nick, I have been a profitable trader for 10 years and routinely still look for ideas posted by other people in my continuance to learn, however truthfully with the exception of one it has never influenced my trading strategy. I hate indicators and the only thing on my charts are S/R zones to govern my theory on market manipulation. This video is by far the best and most relevant take on trading I have every seen. I honestly wish more traders who have found success and have gone through the proverbial shit process would post stuff like this. Wonderful f**king content man. Thanks for not being one of these idiots trying to bolster their own profile by posting crap. Bottom line and best point in my own words, simple and repeatable process without emotion is how you make money! Great Job!

I have been learning how to trade for 1.5 year now. I'm about to take my first withdrawal EVER and its 15k, made in 7 trading days, started from 800. Your risk management is the only reason I could do it. Once I have enough money, I'll buy your courses because I can only imagine the value in that content if this is what free content has done for me. Thank you Nick... my family will forever be thankful to you for what you have given us. Now the only thing that's left to do is be consistent.

Dang man. 27:38 hit hard. That's me. I'm so embarrassed to admit this but I've been trading on and off for almost 8 years....still not profitable. I keep coming back. Spent countless thousands of hours looking at charts trying to find edge. Thousands of screenshots of different "setups". Been through terrible emotional swings man. Took me this long to really have it drilled into my head that there is no system out there and that markets are impossible to predict. I'm not looking to make millions. I just want consistency. I know what you are saying and showing is true.

I've seen quite a few of your videos here on TH-cam and I always take everything with a pinch of salt no matter who it's from on here as you know how it is lol.
However I fully endorse everything you say here.
    The realist talk!
No bullshit, any beginners here please listen to this and watch it over and over.
It's all probabilities and risk management. You just need an edge a ton of discipline to find that edge and collect tons of data.
Oh yeah and don't forget you're your own enemy when it comes to trading.
It doesn't have to be complicated!
It just needs to be consistent.

    One word of caution:
Market conditions do exist, wherein you don't just get stopped out, and thus the leverage DOES matter.
Back in 2015, I missed getting smashed on the Swissy move, by pure luck ... but it was a 1.2x leverage, so even if I was in it (I had gotten out the day before), I would have survived.
Many didn't survive. They went on that theory of "Well, I'll just put 10k down, and leverage up", and the stop was not hit. One nanosecond ... it was trading at X, and the next nanosecond, it gapped by like 600 Pips. And then CONTINUED to wreck people as it slammed lower. It actually destroyed entire brokerage firms, and not only smashed peoples accounts, but then they were in the hole, and owed thousands.
IT DOES HAPPEN. Black Swans are rare. But they DO happen.

Second once you have the plan you DO NO NOT deviste from the plan you stick to your plan no matter what! I started trading on a demo account today, after watching Nick's videos for like 5 or something days. I played around and guessed I'd make a profit following this strategy on a 1h chart, and it would've made a profit. Following the KISS (keep it simple, stupid) method is probably the best advice to give someone, along with risk management etc. I have a long way to go, though. My heart dropped after setting a buy stop to activate, and it activated randomly a couple of minutes ago, so imagine if that was on a real account XD
Going with plan A so far.
Short story long, thanks Nick 💪

Great video. I appreciate the simplicity. It's the same thing in golf. Everyone wants to drive the long ball but you just need to find a club you can hit 150 yards straight and forget the driver altogether. Doesn't have to look pretty, just has to get you closer to the hole. Thanks for posting this, it's a great find.

Two best phrases I heard that apply to trading is 'be reactive, not predictive' and 'inconsistent input results in inconsistent output'. So don't strategy swap, find one that works in a backtest, then forward test then live test. And stick with it.

This is really not as difficult as many people presume it to be. It requires a certain level of diligence, no doubt, which is something ordinary investors lack, and so a financial advisor often comes in very handy. That is how people are able to make such huge profits in the market.

    • @josephbush
      @josephbush ปีที่แล้ว +3

@georgeh I completely agree, this is why I decided to give a coach control over my everyday investing decisions. Their proficiency in research, specific knowledge, and risk management makes it difficult for them to deliver below expectations. They emphasize minimizing drawbacks while maximizing risk's asymmetrical potential. I have more than two years of investing coach experience, and I have made more than a half of a million dollars.

@aureliobjm The adviser that guides me is HEATHER LEE LARIONI. She works with Empower FinanciaI services near my old office so I saw her often. Run a SFO, and completely agree. When we decided to allow ones to see what we do, it was with a caveat.
None of this crap with the big house, no "videos with flashing the cars". Trading, and only Trading, and showing how private structures ACTUALLY work.
And you're right. Back in the day, I trained traders, and I've come to a conclusion. Most just won't make it. They can't work in an iterative environment, hyperfocus on entrances, do something I have long called: "Method Hunting" (Changing strategy 15 times a week), and are too focused on binary event satisfaction. Most HUMANS ARE BUILT like that, and so it's not really anyones "fault", and thus sadly, it means most won't make it.
    And absolute TRUTH.
As a Business Partner of mine likes to say ... "All analysis, in the end, is sort of bullcrap"

Absolutely love what you said at 14:31... The amount of horse-shit you hear people saying about their risk percentages etc. I'm still only a couple of years into trading, but thankfully coming into it at a more mature age I could see and smell out the rubbish like those statements. I get it, but I know so many traders in my circle who forget to learn how to TRADE, because their so hung up on the figures. I'm rambling.. you said it best Nick. You're a great resource to this whole community for those who want to embrace what you're saying.. that, and a never give up attitude, which so few people have. I sincerely believe most of the reason people fail at this is simply because they won't stick it through. I'm relentless, I won't ever stop.. hence finding real success and consistency at it now. Sorry to ramble on your comments section.. haha. Just know you're appreciated. Good luck to you all :)
