- Hey guys in this one i do a 2008 kia sportage glass hidnge replacement cause there arent videos about it online so i figured id make one as well as replace mine since mines warped and also letting some water in!

Great video! I found that you have to undo one end of the hydraulic lift (side you're working on) so the glass moves freely, work on one side completely, then do the other side.
Thank you so much!! Ill keep that in mind next replacement that was so scary when i would do it so nervous it would crack
@@MarkPuke13 I wasn't worried too much about the glass itself because when the hinges are off, the hydraulic lifts hold it to the hatch. I'm actually working on mine right at this moment. I needed to see some extra advice and ran into your video which helped out tremendously. Thank you!

Thanks for this. Have to make this replacement this week. My hinges completely failed and the shocks pushed it several inches out. Going to have to carefully push it back in place for hinge replacement, I guess.
Also tip I recently learn was to also remove shocks when installing new ne by one so it does t push glass out like it did on me

Where do you have to stand to know where is the righthand side and lefthand side hinge? Is it at the back of the car or front of the car?
I stand in the back and looking at the hindges that where i go from there...
Also whats cool is some of these parts fit the moulding of your cars shape so youll
Know of its wrong or not..or you got the wrong part for the hindges!!
Happy wrenching this was a pretty hard fix just cause the lifts and how it can break the glass so yeah be extra careful and have a homie help ya out!!!

Thanks Mark….. Do you think if you disconnect, the bars would keep it from moving while you replace one at a time??? Just asking because I got to do this!!!!
That can help.. but be careful that glass is heavy!!!!! Have some extra hands and eyes for this job!!! This was actually scary cause i could have shattered it if i did a mistake!! So again be wary!! Thats why i always say my videos are for help and some tips/advice!! Anything that happens i wont be liable ahaha but Thanks for watching and happy wrenching good luck!

Does anyone know where to buy/find that "special piece" ? The black piece that touches the glass? I had to throw mines out thinking it was going to be easy to find but I have had no luck finding a replacement even when buying new hinges. It had part of the hinge corroded onto it making it unusable.
I got mine on ebay took a while
But I kept looking for it, and I found one. Actually, the seller was from Korea.
