A real eye opener. Never think this could never happen to you, because it can and will should our governments continue on the same path

Why does America spend billions of pounds every year (raised from taxation) on the State of Israel, yet allow their own people to suffer from poverty and homelessness? An estimated 50 million people are living in poverty in America. Disgraceful

At least on here , they have a shelter to go to. I was turned down more than once from a shelter because I had more than one son and they said it wasnt ok for me to be in a shelter because of that! It is wrong! Ive been thru heck and back and never will forget that!

The Minimum Wage in Australia is $16.24. In the USA it is $7.35. Please note that a Big Mac in the USA costs about the same in Australia as what it does in the USA. The USA needs to Strike for a Higher Minimum wage. America is no longer the land of opportunity. Australia is. Always please note that the Unemployment rate in Australia is Lower than what it is in the USA.

The homeless situation is a serious life threating matter and will continue to be. This ungodly government and their greedy leaders, have purposely lost touch with their citizens. As of now, counties & local authorities are on the brink of criminalizing homelessness. If you're fortunate to have a car to sleep in then you're constantly harrassed by the police treated like a 2nd class citizen, better yet a non existant citizen. The amounts of suffering homeless individuals & families, yes families, have skyrocketed, pushed into a survival mode There is absolutely no freedom in this country unless you're paying for it! Simply a ploy/genocide to get rid of the middle class and depopulate it's people.

I do wish them all the best, both families seem wonderful and have the power to get up again. We just sometimes need someone to pull us up so we can get back on our feet to move on and pay it forward later.

My heart breaks for this man. We have family we could rely on if it really got bad but I know not everybody has that.

My heart goes out to those families. This should not be possible. In Germany nobody has to be homeless unless they want to. Amercia should take that and manifest in into their politics.

In response to Jose Stickman: To be ill is one thing, but to kick a family when they are down...shame on you! Hope you never become ill, homeless, and hungry!

I'm angry that men can walk out on their families and get away with it. They should have to give 75% of their income to their families and the men can sleep in a shelter or on someones sofa. Only a loser would abandon his family like that. Thank God for that wonderful mom who insisted on keeping her sons with her. You are in my prayers.

Even if they save enough money they will more than likely not pass a rental application.

And Americans are just putting up with it. This problem is so easy to fix but we don't seem to want to make any hard choices

Yes, men are to take care of the family and be adaptive for the sake of the family structure, but social/economic evolution has trained men away from righteousness and love/devotion unto the family structure. Please don't give up hope though, since there are those who DO NOT desert the family.

How is it, illegals can find jobs? Granted, they may need more than one job to support a family but they're not homeless. The clerk at our local gas station works 3 jobs to support his family in a nice neighborhood. Your first example, both parents are overweight and now the husband has health problems. I was in the bank and an older gentleman was asking for help. He had kept refinancing his house and used the money to travel. Now the loans are due and he can't pay and will lose his home. People buy homes they couldn't afford. Getting worthless degrees, etc.......The illegal, willing to work 3 minimum wage jobs, brings home $4200 a month. He is willing to work any job. What I see more and more, are people living on unemployment or claiming SSI rather than work.

and keep them and wish them well :)

I'm sorry but they should have let family take the children in. Keeping together homeless is not helping either of them.
