Arguably the most humane and human of all the Primarchs, even more than Vulkan and Guilliman. Fulgrim is an excellent book. And you’re correct, he was forced to essentially be a hostage in his own body. Fulgrim didn’t kill Ferrus willingly, the Daemon which possessed him essentially forced him to do it. After his guilt completely consumes him, it explains how after Ferrus dies he looks onto the battlefield and views his now depraved sons as disgusting and irredeemable beings. In order to “escape” this reality and his grief he desperately surrendered himself to the Daemon which promised him relief from this pain. It’s also very interesting how Horus essentially knows something funny is up when “Fulgrim” speaks with him privately. The Daemon revealing itself to Horus, Horus’ disgusted reaction and him threatening to kill the Daemon to save his brother is super fun to read about. It offers a better picture as to understanding why Horus was so well loved among the Primarchs.

great way of ending the video by showing a successor chapter of the "imperial fists" named SONS OF THE PHOENIX that are DEFENITELY not derived from Fulgrim's own genes.
On the topic of if I were in Fulgrim's shoes, personally I don't believe in perfection, I see it as an illusion, a fantasy that can never be achieved, and even if it was achievable, I wouldn't want it as I see it as stagnation, if there is nothing left to strive for, nothing left that can challenge me, nothing left for me to learn, I don't see that as good or something to be proud of, I see that as something to weep over over, to mourn, a reason to be gloomy, a reason to be depressed. Perfection as a personal opinion? Sure, I can see that. But perfection as a universal concept? That's a laughable impossibility. Fulgrim wanted to be perfect, he may see himself as perfect, but is he perfect in the universal sense? No, of course not. To chase perfection is to chase a fantasy, and to chase a fantasy is to chase nonsense. Fulgrim is merely a prime example of what delusional pride looks like. Better yourself, but don't chase a fantasy that can never be achieved.
Hey mate love your intro music It reminds me of the old beatamax videos when you had to take a run and fly kick the play buttons to play the video and the early music is what’s in your intro. Anyway memories eh! 😂😂😛
I think fulgrim is a compelling and interesting (loyalist) primarch because hrs the most human of any of them. We understand his inner struggles of trying to be humble but also prove himself all at the same time. We can better empathize with him because his fall to chaos is so familiar to our own failures. We as humans will still struggle but the realiry is most of us are perfectly fine as we are, just like fulgrim, but all it took was a little push to shatter our inner anxiety and insecurities to make us come crashing down. We all so petty things, have certain ticks that annoy us, and have deep friendships all the same, but these can collide causing us to doubt ourselves and retreat in shame. Fulgrims greatest flaw is he was the most emotional and human among primarch demigods.
Oooh yes. Already saw the old one, now to see how much the remaster has improved. Are you interested in covering xenos characters like Eldrad or Commander Farsight? I would love a character deep dive with the latter. He got me into the hobby and sadly haven't kept up with his lore. I should fix that. But yeah, looking forward to the video.
I have plans for Eldrad but admittedly I need to do more research. Commander Farsight will be a while away as zeno’s I will cover intermittently and have done Tau relatively recently. Will definitely cover him though.
Fulgrim is my all time favourite Primarch, and the Emperor's Children are my favourite Legion. This was not always so but I went on a journey with them and spent more time figuring them out then any other in the setting. As a result I have a lot of opinions and am very protective about them. I'm of the opinion most in the fanbase dont give them much mind and are more often then not the but of jokes and little else. I quite liked this video all things told. At first my biased immune system tried flaring to life. "That's not right" or "that's not fair!" But I got that under control. At least Fulgrim got an well researched, comprehensive analysis that wasnt just judging him the whole time. While i can say certain details arent correct, to be fair everything you've said has been true at some stage. Their lore has been reworked a lot from its first iteration. Like for example the Blight used to be a flaw of the gene-seed that had to be worked out but in some more recent lore that's been changed to being an outside pathogen that just hit them the hardest. Unless that's been changed since then, I haven't heard if it was. Or that it used to be how the legions pride and arrogance towards their own self perceived perfection led them down the road to damnarion, whereas after Graham McNeill's Fulgrim novel it was more the combo of the chaotic taint contracted unknowingly on Learan and Fabius Biles experiments and new combat stims. The impression I got from this video was that you were trying to marry the disparate elements of their old and new lore. If that was the case then I think you did pretty good at that. Though I subscribe to the theory that while most traitor legions walked their own oath to damnation, the Emperor's children were dragged unconscious down theirs. If it weren't for the Laeran campaign they never, ever, would have turned traitor if presented the same options. Clonegrim somewhat validates this idea for me I beleive. I'm very curious what sources you used for this as I saw stuff from all over the written lore in this video. Secondly I see you have an older Fulgrim video. Is it much different from this one? What's that one about? It's almost an hour as well so i wont be watching it just yet. Lastly, because I'm obsessed, I've got a folder full of Fulgrim and Emperor's Children artwork. I search for art of them quite often BECAUSE I CAN NOT BE STOPPED, but there were a few I did not recognise to my suprise. Do you have links to the art you used? I'd much appreciate it. Keep up the good work. I enjoyed this despite my unpleasable nature. This legion and Primarch really are a tragedy. I think they had so much potential to be the best of the Legions. Not in terms of power or numbers but as paragons of what Astartes could be.
Thank you! You are right that I’m trying to have a mix between old and new lore, I try to make these understanding videos more about there journey from the characters perspective so things like the truth of the geneseed problem being a mystery to Fulgrim even though as a reader we have more information. As for sources I used a mix of the Horus Heresy books as well as the Fulgrim novel, with my opinion on how the event affects the character. This part is usually when most of us differ due to how subjective it is. For the artworks just comment the timestamp and I can link it. For the other Fulgrim video it was my first attempt at this stuff and I thought I could do better so this current video was a remaster/extended version. Lastly Fulgrim is one of my favourite primarch’s too due to how deep he really is if you find it, I’m not sure anyone can capture all of his nuances but he definitely needs to be talked about more.
I never could find someone to explain fulgrims origins and this is like smooth caramel mixed over cold steel, sharp. Powerful. And so sweet to my ears
Yes it's almost too smooth, I can FEEL THE PERFECTION CARESS ME, whispering sweet promises into my ear.

@@TheAmberKing Awesome, thx a lot!
Hoping for an extended version one day. :D great stuff!
I hope to see you soon at 100000 subs.
I truly enjoy your content
Incredible video. Perfection to listen to on a long drive. You have a new subscriber.
I really like your intro music and whole blade runner / judge dredd vibe. The rest of the video is great too but I thought someone has to make sure they mention it
Way better then most of the bigger channels. You should do kharn hes one of the most well written characters throughout the lore
This was wonderfully done. I will be watching more of your vids.
Subscribed. I am happy to find more quality lore and history. Good job.
The use of synth wave the badass thumbnails and the deliciously long length of these videos, and that voice 😤👌 M8 stay strong keep uploading your content is peak maybe cut the time of your video by 10 - 15 minutes to make it easier for you other than that your work is PERFECT it’s only a matter of time before your growth will explode like an Ork Waagh!!!!!
theres so many warhammer 40k characters and legions i like. some more than others and the emperors children are one of my favourites. i love slaanesh
great way of ending the video by showing a successor chapter of the "imperial fists" named SONS OF THE PHOENIX that are DEFENITELY not derived from Fulgrim's own genes.
and also i'm subscribing i'm soo happy to have found this channel
Cheers man. It’s probably gonna be a while until a loyalist Fulgrim return, but it’s gonna be a top 3 warhammer moment when it does happen.
I would absolutely love a loyalist Fulgrim v Demonic Fulgrim
Does anyone know the artist for the artwork at 8:51?
Really like a nod towards the Sons of the Phoenix there at the end.
It was said that when hearing Fulgrim's powerful speech to his legion, the Emperor wept. I liked that.
You've got a great voice for this kind of content mate! You give Leutin a challenge! I'd love to see a Collab between the 2 of you at some point
Likes for the algorithm god, comments for the engagement throne!
Awesome work, brother.
Your videos are amazing and tell a complete vision of thr tragedy of fulgrim.
Hey mate love your intro music
It reminds me of the old beatamax videos when you had to take a run and fly kick the play buttons to play the video and the early music is what’s in your intro.
Anyway memories eh!
😂😂😛
great video, really impressive.
Love your videos man keep it up
New sub! Amazing 40k content as good as arch or better almost baldermort/ luetin level
I hope you do one for Rus and the lion too. I have yet to find a good in depth video that covers either of those two primarchs
Impressive. Keep up the excellent work
I think fulgrim is a compelling and interesting (loyalist) primarch because hrs the most human of any of them.
The thing I really dislike about Fulgrim’s story is his mortal side just going “ah well, gone too far now, have to embrace it, no way back”
Ok, I have a question, did the Clone Fulgrim appear before or after Rylanor blew up Daemon Fulgrim and the 3 thousand son
To my knowledge the timings are close together but I am unsure which happened first.
Thank you for this your narration is really awesome 🔥👍
Emperor protects
You did an amazing job!!! Are you an Emperor’s Children fan?
A big Horus Heresy Emperor’s Children fan. You?
Will definitely cover him though.
i hope to see more vids like this i really enjoyed it
Fulgrim is my all time favourite Primarch, and the Emperor's Children are my favourite Legion.
"That's not right" or "that's not fair!"
But I got that under control.
32:21 I guess he learned about Reforged.
This video is perfection !
Man the part where he kills Ferrus Manus nearly brought me to tears.
This . . . Was . . . Brilliant to listen to. Subscribed 👍👍👍 1.34k (ish) subscriber.
I never loved how the demon sword was drawn. That hard angle just feels off to me for a serpentine feeling blade.
Let this be a lesson to you all. If the blade has eyes on it, and it "whispers" to you, leave it the hell alone!
Fulgrim and Magnus the Red are definitely the most tragic of the fallen Primarchs.
Real good shit my dude
