Great idea for a series! I'd be interested in hearing if they have any special position or characteristics when packing (e.g., lead goat, good at water or rock obstacles, calming influence on the inexperienced goats, camp buddy, etc.). Looking forward to getting to know them better as the series progresses. Thanks!

Blade reminds me of my Bullet. Also a LaMancha.

I love lamanchas. I have a goat named Phoenix who is 100% lamancha. He likes his little gopher ears rubbed, too! He is more gentle than my other crosses. Very curious, and passive while eating with others.
My goats are de-horned, and I always try to imagine my boy's heads with the horns. They're quite impressive and beautiful!

Blade is a beautiful goat!! Gotta love the sub dominate goats, mine are very affectionate goats. They always want lovings. 😂

I've only ever heard good things about La Matchas.

I have gotten into lamanchas the past few years and like their temperment. So far, they seem to be hardier, less susceptible to parasites, work hard, and are more even keeled then my alpines.
Have you crossed paths with the goat dairy in Eagle that is 100% lamancha? Curious of your thoughts and if you have any of their genetics in your herd.

I do know Jim. He’s a really good guy. I think just a few of his heard are what I’m looking for as far as packers. His breeding is really really solid for milk but wasn’t what I was looking for as a whole for pack lines.

Blade is a cutie. How old is he? Does he show promise as a packer?

He’s will be a stud packer. He will be two this spring.

    Lamanchas don't have ears.
I had no idea there was a breed of goats without ears! Now I'm curious what other crazy things I'm about to learn about the different breeds you have.
