I think my favorite thing about Cabinet Man fan videos is what happens during the last chorus. It's a split between he dies and the chorus is in remembrance of him or it's his last chorus as he takes the vandal or vandals down with him
I feel like if it ended on the sneakers line, it would be the former, but repeating the chorus after that definitely implies murder, especially with how hard it goes.
@@explosiveeg9718 Um I'm pretty sure there is some supernatural force keeping him alive so you definitely don't need a body if theres something supernatural going on.
The first couple of times I listened to it I thought it was some kind of sentient robot (half human, half machine; organs inside; eating a maintenance man) obviously I wasn’t paying too close attention to the lyrics lol
Well, I remember that the song is based off of the infamous arcade cabinet Polybius, a mythical cabinet made by the U.S. government as an experiment that caused health problems to those who played it. The story was (most likely) a hoax, yet the details were not too wrong. The FBI did service arcade machines to break gambling rings, and two kids who played at the same arcade fell under terrible conditions, one of the two dying on someone's lawn.
Fun fact: Neil’s sister, Emmy cicierega, is credited to have worked on gravity falls episode Soos and the Real Girl about a sentient virtual being that kills. Neil made the early gravity falls intro and a song about a sentient arcade cabinet (also a gravity falls episode) so this is either proof holism exists or Disney is full of nepotism

Cabinet Man as a song is actually very interesting- the song is literally about a man who puts his organs into an arcade machine, but when you think about it metaphorically, it’s about celebrities that make themselves into simply content. They go so far to be popular that they’ve turned themselves into a product, and then they get outdated (hence the arcade machine, since arcade machines are rarely used now). They rely on money and appreciation to live (like Neil saying ‘two lungs collecting change’, then he says ‘it’s getting hard to breathe’ right after he says ‘it’s getting lonely’, suggesting that he lives on people’s attention and money). Also, he complains about the people bashing the arcade machine, but the thing is they don’t actually know the arcade machine is a person- they think it’s just a product, which represents antis of celebrities who don’t actually see said celebrities as people. Also, when he says ‘this must be what love would have felt like’, it represents the parasocial love he gets from people- they love him but without thinking of him as a person.
quick thought i had: the quarter trick at 2:20 made me think of how that would feel but then i realized it would really be the same thing as using bait on a hook to catch a fish. just a weird thought.
well if you think about it, he mentions his breath being the quarters in his lungs. think of it as telling your friend to breathe in the fresh air and then treating them to a roundhouse kick to the chest where it pushes the air out of your lungs
2:20 this scene reminds me of a scene in the computer Fighters where a guy sticks a quarter on a string into arcade machine and it jams and then he goes oh no not again and then he shows his hand and it's missing like three fingers
THIS IS INTENSELY AWESOME !! really pretty colors that elevate the mood and so many clever details (i never connected the "getting hard to breathe" line with his lungs running out of quarters, for instance - that's so cool!!) LOVE THIS!!

No it doesn't,,, the animation isnt fluid or smooth enough,,,, Its mostly static shots with zooms and ?pans? To keep it interesting,,, Even anime doesn't have that much static shots the art is pretty but not the animation-
I don't know what kind of vibes this animation emanates, but I like them. It's sorta like Adventure Time or Bee and Puppycat but like with an 80's aesthetic I just live it 9/10 for nostalgia.
at first i thouhgt this song was about a man/monster that lived in the cabinet of someoen home and if you dint play his game or if you did but you cheated he would kill you. once i listned to the lyrics more i thought he was in a cabinet in the kitchen of an arcade/ then listening to it from starto finish whiel listening to the lyrics i finnaly realised what it meant. gave me shed 17 vibes
Imagine it's Christmas Eve and you're hanging out with your friend from school. You're both bored and really need a break from your parents 'cause Christmas isn't as fun as it used to be. Suddenly, your friend gets an idea. They suggest breaking into the old arcade and wreck a couple old arcade cabinets, y'know, to let off some steam. Your anxious but really excited to try it out. You wait til your parents are asleep and sneak out. Knowing that they're tired from the holiday season, they'll probably sleep like a rock tonight. You and your friend grab the crowbars from the garage and take a cold walk to the arcade. As you approach the derelict building, you briefly remember one Halloween, a middle-school friend saying that one of the technicians who worked there came into work one day and never clocked out and that his ghost captured a couple other technicians who went missing and drove a couple kids to insanity. You got a little spooked but brushed it off and began picking the lock. You look around at the dusty place and tighten your grip on your crowbar. The two of you have a blast, bashing in Pac-man and Galaga. After your past semester, this was better than therapy. Then you noticed the one in the far back, directly across from the front door. You think your dad talked about it once, saying that it was big in its heyday. You mentally apologize to your dad and charge at the cabinet, bringing your crowbar down on the dashboard. Your friend follows your lead and starts swinging with you. You bash the middle of the cabinet and a pile of quarters spill out! You could probably buy whatever you wanted for Christmas now! You notice your friend shoving the side of it and you decide to help them out. With a couple shoves back-and-forth, the cabinet falls to the ground with a loud thud. For a second, you thought someone could've heard you but no one has been in the area for almost a decade. You look down at the fallen cabinet, somewhat impressed with yourself for bringing it down. Your friend makes a lame joke and bashes the screen in with their crowbar. Glass scatters across the floor and you sorta shield your eyes while laughing. You turn to the other cabinets and suggest taking the quarters from the other ones. Your friend eagerly agrees by rushing over to the one closest to you and starts swinging at the coin deposit. You take a couple steps forward before noticing a wet sound beneath you. You look down and notice a dark liquid on your sneaker. You think the cabinet was leaking discharge but what kind of discharge would an arcade cabinet leak? "*You can't win me... I can't be beat...*" You and your friend go stiff as you hear an electronic voice emitting from the shadows of the arcade. "*I won't hurt you... Unless you cheat...*" You realize it's not speaking, it's singing. It's singing in tune with the theme of the arcade game that you just busted. "*You can't see me behind the screen...*" The arcade game glowed softly behind you. Your heart sinking into your stomach as you watch your shadow appear with each note. Then the rest of the cabinets join in on the chorus as the whole arcade powers lights up with its glow, "*I'm half human and half machine!*"

I thought this was about being addicted to the internet, but this helped me realize what this was actually about, a littoral cabinet man
3:36 it was at this moment those kids realized they screwed up
This reminds me of that one regular show episode where they unleash a flying 8bit demon head from playing a cursed arcade cabinet
it's that time of year again ✨
im back happy Christmas eve me from 2021
I hope Cabinet man has a better time this Christmas Eve :(
I love this so much! I really hope you do more! I'd specifically like to see Soft Fuzzy Man, as no one has made a video for that. I love you!
am ked
I don’t think enough people are appreciating how good this animation is, it’s so fluid and detailed
3:45 This feels like he's saying to the vandals that they cheated in the most ominous voice possible.
hand: *comes out of the arcade machine and it explodes*
those kids: *"IGHT IMA HEAD OUT-*
The kicking and pushing over of 87
Was that the assault of '87?
This is gold
This looks like something out of an animated tv show, how did you make something so good?!!!!??!!!??! You should totally be an animator, your talents are amazing!!
Edit: it would be a crime for me but to sub to you because this is soooo gooood omg!
Animaysons 728 they are an animator, did you even watch the video? the entire thing is animated
crowsparks I meant like work on a tv show or something, yeah I see that the whole thing is animated :)
No it doesn't,,, the animation isnt fluid or smooth enough,,,,
Its mostly static shots with zooms and ?pans? To keep it interesting,,,
Even anime doesn't have that much static shots
the art is pretty but not the animation-
Jauque p0pland • 3 years ago hey, shut up.
@@p0p525 dude even if it has mistakes not everything can be perfect to your standards
1:54 I finally found Waldo
After watching this probably too many times I just realised that it's the same kids that cheated and got electrocuted are the ones that broke in
Daaaaamn, this is so freaking satisfying to watch! Everything is so fluid and the colors look so pleasant! Fantastic work!
TIS THE DAY, PEOPLE. arcade happens to be empty today
IM LIKE ON THE VERGE OF TEARS DEADASS THIS IS SO AMAZING WTF,,,, I think this is literally the best animation I've seen to this song
i just keep coming to see this video every month since i discovered its existence
Probably the most underrated animation in the world
happy anniversary to cabinet man getting rekt
For some reason it was so hard for me to picture of this song each time I listen to it but this...THIS...thank you just THANK YOU
This is definitely my favorite Fan-Made animation for this song
NEIL MAKE THIS OFFICIAL
Moment of silence for the Cabinet Man about to get his ass beat tonight
I love nail cisgender
TIS THE SEASON 🗣️📢‼️
I don't know what kind of vibes this animation emanates, but I like them. It's sorta like Adventure Time or Bee and Puppycat but like with an 80's aesthetic I just live it 9/10 for nostalgia.
Y DID I NEVER REALIZE HE TURNED HIMSELF INTO A FUCKIN MACHINE PLSBDBDHDHCBSBD ITS LITERALLY IN THE LYRICS
SAME OH MY GOD I THOUGHT IT WAS A METAPHOR FOR SOMETHING NOT A LITERAL MACHINE WHAT
you cant win him, he cant be beat, he wont hurt you unless you cheat, you cant see him behind the screen, hes half human and half machine.
"Man my hidding spot was so good it took years for them to find me!"
NOW WHO TRAPPED NEIL IN THE ARCADE MACHINE?!
thank god for narrative music I love this so much
at first i thouhgt this song was about a man/monster that lived in the cabinet of someoen home and if you dint play his game or if you did but you cheated he would kill you. once i listned to the lyrics more i thought he was in a cabinet in the kitchen of an arcade/ then listening to it from starto finish whiel listening to the lyrics i finnaly realised what it meant. gave me shed 17 vibes
I THINK ITS CHRISTMAS EVE
This is amazing! How are you so underrated?!
I literally did not realize this was what the lyrics were, I've been listening to this song for years lmao
Awesome video
Love this song. Even before Ranboo, though I learned more lemon demon from him, I’ve always loved this song.
@ad haha this isn’t even the worst of the comments

I’ve been working on my own Lemon Demon animated video, and seeing this right now was such a treat. Excellent, EXCELLENT VID
you have no idea how *incredibly* happy this makes me
I love your abstract visuals at the beginning, and the color pallet is to die for!!
You have no idea, but that little stumble while the person was trying to run away from Neil's ghost added so much to the animation.
absolutely LOVE how cabinet man is just like 👁_👁 most of the time
I dont think I'll ever get tired of Cabinet Man fan animations; they're all so amazing. I love this!
Almost a year ago today I was on TH-cam, I saw this video in my recommended and for some reason I decided to click, I had never heard a lemon demon song before, it was one of the best decisions of my life. One year later I have listened to all of lemon demon's music. Thank you for making this video.
2:13 LEMON
im so dumb i never even listened to the lyrics of this song as a STORY before, and now the song makes a lot more sense
i just realized this song is just about Polybius, but with ghosts ( I guess, but he technically isn't dead) and the game is alive.
1:46 me when i see players and get quickly revered:
This is always how I've imagined it - it's great
I like the ending a lot! You made it in a way where the story repeats it's self which I love!!!
Wow, turns out this song was way darker than i thought. Every time I listened, I couldn't make sense of the lyrics, until the listen just before this one, when i realized how much of a creepypasta it is.
I sometimes forget this song is part of the album. Like is too good
