All of the Shquad know how much I love my Vantage GT8, starting road back during the Road to GT8 Series. Now that it's a few years old, let me take you through the costs behind my ownership and what's involved each year.
Honestly, this is one of my favourite of all the cars you've owned. The sound is second to none, it looks stunning (this shape over the new vantage any day) and it's a manual
What a beautiful video! watching a man that truly loves his car no matter what is cost drive it how it should be driven.....with a massive smile on his face!! much love Shmee, i was smiling with you.
Today I saw Misha's video on the GT R Pro, and all I was thinking was: Shmee's car needs to get to the Nurburgring! Also that upcoming 850 package from Renntech sounds really interesting! 😉😉
It’s very interesting to know that your Aston Martin GT8 cost less to maintain than some everyday cars. About the price, I think it will start appreciating at some point because of the numbers out there. Please build your own garage so that some of us can come and visit your garage. Thank you very much for sharing this great content with us. You should not stop talking. Your talking is what makes this video worth it.
I still love this car as much today as I did while watching each episode of the road to GT8 - I remember the anticipation as a viewer of the channel just waiting for the day it would arrive! This is still one of my favorite cars in the fleet, the color spec is my favorite of all the shmeemobiles, and only the Senna was more anticipated by me. But I remember waiting weeks on end during the road to GT8 for the next episode to finally release so I could watch it, that was such great fun! Thank you Tim, for sharing the journey - it's been one hell of a ride! Cheers!
The biggest problem I have with my Vantage is keeping it clean and free of bugs/brake dust because I love driving it so much. These cars aren't meant to be garage queens. Great video, Tim!
Wow, I had no idea how amazing this car sounds. It’s so visually appealing & looks like such a blast to drive, i’d love to see you take this car on more trips and to more events when things start to go back to normal!
*To most people, it's not about having the fastest car. It's slow and won't beat your 2020 family sedan in a 0-60 race but MAN is it fun on a back road with the top down. I love and respect all of your cars Shmee, but the GT8 to me is my favorite one by far for all the reasons you mentioned. PLEASE don't ever sell it.
I love the V8 Vantage, I'm actually looking into buying one myself. Earlier today I actually came accross an old post on Pistonheads by you about putting the Sportshift in learning mode :D (not sure I'll get one with sportshift though, probably going for a manual). The GT8 still looks awesome and sounds even better.
@@Shmee150 Yeah was a bit surprised to see a post by you pop up. Been reading up on the Sportshift to see if it is really as bad as some people say it is. But opinions are quite split so will need to drive one myself at some point I guess.

Love the GT8, I'm glad she's a keeper! Those British twisty narrow roads are so beautiful!! Took my father over to GoodWood FoS last year (we live in Sweden) and hired a Cayman 981 GTS to bend those British country roads with, what a memory for the rest of our lives! :) Was looking forward to repeating that this year but I guess we'll have to wait a little longer, atleast the roads aren't going anywhere.
I love the look of the gt8 it’s so gorgeous especially with the orange accents. Love the channel Tim. Love the content and I hope you can continue producing the excellent content you make. Stay safe.
I love the Aston Martin Vantage GT8. Its the type of Car you probably wont get in the new future ever again (Engine). Thank you for the great content as always.
I am so happy that you enjoy it and share it so I do not have to pay for it. When you itemize the cost and understand your cost per mile or per hour, it becomes impossible. I am a car enthusiast, but will happily add that I drive a 2015 Infiniti Q60. No warranty cost. It sits for free in my garage in Toronto. Insurance is $1500 cad or 700 pounds per year. Annual tax and registration is $100. Annual maintenance about $300. It never goes wrong. Starts every time. Sounds terrific. Puts a smile on my face when I drive it. Its comfortable but sporty. If I curb a wheel or get a scratch I am disappointed, but not financially impacted. By the time I'm done, it will depreciate 90%. But who cares. It still costs next to nothing. I have the cash on hand to afford exotics but refuse to indulge for the same reason I crew on my friends yacht and refuse to own one of my own. In your case it is a tax write off as a prop for a TH-cam business. The great thing is you also get to drive / enjoy it. But be clear. It only makes sense because it is an actor that pays you well on TH-cam.
You could benefit massively by moving slightly up north Shmee, You could buy land, build your own custom garage and have great driving roads on your door step! Maybe tour north England this summer?!
