I have a 91 Atrai, the previous generation. It’s so much fun. Mine is also 2WD, and I’ve driven it on the freeway in Los Angeles. A little sketchy but definitely capable for small cross town trips.
Omg its my van shes famous and beautiful. Im loving her cant get plates till next week but i have so many ideas and i would like to thank you and david for everything daves the man shes one of the best ive seen in my area and shes at my house. Again i would like to thank both of you and look forward to many more videos you guys rock
Saw an Atrai outside my shop in Hanalei. Cute little van! They lifted it and put a surf rack on top. Perfect for beach cruising. My sambar should be here next week. I'll try to keep you posted!
6:16 My 1996 Diahatsu atria rear seats fold flat into floor. Have had mine for 2 years this fathers day. Love it. Mine is all the lower light blue color. With 13" rims and mud tires on it.
Stationed in Okinawa with my Subaru Kei van! These Kei vans are so underrated, the ratio of Japanese/Okinawans to Americans driving Kei vans has to be 95% to 5%.
That is so nice, I love it and the sliding door is on the pavement (sidewalk) side here in the UK. I agree about the glass sunroof, it changes the whole character of the interior. Those Subaru Sambars with all the bells and whistles are the ones for me, like mini Delica Crystal Lites.
Great video Nick!. In my view and I'm on the hunt for it in the Jp autions is the Daihatsu Atria S120 or S130v RT limited twin cam turbo 5spd that i can bring down under to do engine mod to 200hp with water to air intercooler system and Haltec system on to run it all. and cart my drums to gigs in at the same time!. 200hp on a kei van , so far it has not been done yet!!!
move the driver seat all the way forward then pull the parking brake then fold the passenger front seat all the way down then the front seat they fold flat so you can sit on the front seats facing backwards. some have a pto switch on the front driver side by the turn signal and a lever comes down that you put on the accelarator pedal that turns the van into a generator you can plug in a/c power to. thats exactly like my old van. mine had the moon roof i didnt like it cause i was worried they might crack and it would be a total loss. mine hauled ass. this one doesnt have the pto a/c converter either but thats a rare option. dont know if this one has it but mine had a power switch on the left side of the steering wheel down low and hidden next to a coin holder.
visit Philippines. We have a lot of kei trucks as well. And all of our trucks are converted to left hand drive. You can also visit shops that build kei trucks and vans. these are popular in our country. I will wait for you here in the Philippines!!
I would love to have a Kei Van (Turbo or Supercharged) as a daily driver. Too bad California refuses to allow any Kei Car on the roads, claiming they are too unsafe and won't meet emission standards.
Question about importing a Kei: when I’ve imported non-Kei JDM vehicles from Japan, I have documentation for the exact month and year they were first registered. So if a car was first registered in July 1999 and the current month is July 2024 then I for sure can prove to Customs it’s 25 years old. But the Japanese government doesn’t record the month a Kei is first registered, right? So does that mean they just assume all 1999 Kei’s have a month of January build date for that year? (And therefore any 1999 Kei can come in?) or are things currently limited to only 1998 and older Kei vehicles? I’ve only imported one Kei, a ‘92 Beat, 2 years ago so no doubt it was at least 25 years old.
@@Waybeforethefame for the record, it might just be me, redlining it everywhere I go..gotta keep up with everybody🤣 I'm sure if I drive like a normal person, it would last twice as long, at the least.
Ever SMELL an old Atrai that has the 'panoramic' roof? Smells kinds like moldy basement/well used cat box. Any of the next gen vans drive a lot better, but they just aren't as quirky and handsome. I's like a 97 Honda with fuel injection and P/S
@@Waybeforethefame yup, I’m planning to buy it n go back with it to NYC but I’m a little in the fence about it not because of how it looks or anything it’s just the transportation part lol *** the only thing wrong with it is just the head gasket***

Kei Vans >
That van is very aerodynamic. That windshield is awesome.
Windshield on these kei vans are huge its such a cool driving experience
Love the Atrai. I love anything that reminds me of the Honda Element. I had an Element until some decided they wanted to hit it.
Kei is the way .

Yeah the sliding door for us Americans technically will have the back passenger always getting out on to street traffic
Love it. Especially the color
Me too!
That van is adorable. So cute, nice & simple
Perfect car
@@Waybeforethefame you might wanna take it, right??
Couldn't make it to the car meet on long island so that sucks but i saw a kei fire truck in chinatown lol

Some kei cars companies show the month some don’t. But not all are 1/99
I have a 97 atrai liberno turbo with the full glass roof and active aero spoiler. I love it, also its for sale
What are you asking for it ?
May have heard wrong but you first said it's fuel injected and later said carbureted.
this one is fuel injected
Think a kei van would be the way to go.
Let’s see how the next Mira does
Very cool! Thank you!
You bet!
Great video
Thanks for the visit
Does this van have cruise control? Do other K cars have cruise control?
I’ve never seen any of the 25+ kei cars with cruise control
My only complaint on this model: the alternator and AC belts don't last too long with spirited driving😝

fully get why nobody would spend 4 grand on that little red car at the end 😂but for real this was a solid video thanks homie
That minica ain’t bad for 4k come on lol is it worth 7k absolutely not
