Great review! I'm in the market for a cargo bike and thanks to your very thorough review, this is at the top of my list. I want to haul 2 small kiddos so the Aventon Abound won't cut it with its lower rack weight limit. Also - cadence sensors are just fine people! Quit parroting that torque sensors are the greatest thing around - it's all personal preference. Anyway, it's clear you put tons of effort into your videos and I appreciate it tons. Thanks!!

This bike is really zero’ing in on the best of all the features in the $2k and under slot. If it’s not gonna be a folding bike, then the mullet setup is the ultimate cargo bike geometry. Having a real-sized front wheel for good climb-over and a nice, long front contact patch, smoother and slower steering mixed with a 3” lower rear axle makes for a lower center of gravity for the load is perfect for this role. It’s essentially the Flyer L885 but with better components, considerably more power output, front suspension and less expensive!!! A winner.

Oh yeah, it’s UL listed for both the battery charging and the electrical system!

My .02. On first glance, I like the larger front wheel on the Velotric. For handling heavier loads I think it's a safer option. And I think overall build quality is outstanding. Here's why I went with the Aventon Abound. Value. Bang for the buck during black friday goes hands down to Aventon. Yes, I gave up two features I really like, the larger front tire and locking frame bag but I gained a color LCD, a torque sensor (which I feel is a superior experience) and almost $625 in accessories like panniers, cargo racks, front racks and a place for the grandkids. I also like the turn signals, metal rea floor boards (vs plastic or wood) and the metal fenders.

I've been working on getting healthier and I'm down 80 lbs but I'm still a big guy. I was looking at the Nomad but the Packer certainly seems to be the more versatile choice.
Wonder if there's a reasonable way to slice into the wiring to allow you to throw a high capacity battery bank on the cargo rack and plug directly in. If not, I'm not opposed to an extra battery but it's a cool idea.

If it had a 2x battery powered torque-sensing mid-drive, I'd get this one. But since it doesn't, I'm going with the Lectric expedition for now. No company out there makes the combo of what I want for a cargo ebike. The Dost cargo bike has promise, but it's not long enough for 2 passengers, center of gravity is high (mullet would be ideal) and no front suspension.

I think I'm leaning heavily into this one. I love the looks the most. I know I hate on cadence sensors but I may look past that for this bike.

That bike is big. 75 lbs is not bad at all .. My bike is 52V 1,000 watt 26x4 and weighs that much.

Just too bad it has a cadence sensor. Cadence is a non-starter. Torque sensors are SO much more enjoyable.

How long did shipping take? Is it really 3-4 weeks?

I am going to need to new cargo bike, but I am scared since my Fucare Libra turned into a giant paper weight. I was so disappointed with it, as I had two motors burn out on me with cargo in a matter of a couple of months. Huge warning to anyone interested if you live in a hilly area, hub motors can die superfast, at least the Fucare motor sure did. I don't know if It's because it was a cheap motor, or if all hub motors have this problem. But what happens is the motor gets so hot that the glue holding the little magnets inside the motor melts, and then they move, making the motor not able to work.

@user-hy1dy2tp8z Yeah it really sucked! I ended up getting a mid-drive bike from lectric and have not had a problem since. I really like the mid-drive cause it feels more like an actual bike instead of a moped that has pedals haha.
