  • ALEX NTUNG
Security analyst, one of the biggest experts on political and security risks in the Great Lakes region of Africa
„The only thing I knew about Britain before I came to Britain, was Princess Diana. Nothing else.“
Alex considers himself one of the luckiest people in the world as he has gone through so many horrible and dangerous situations we could hardly imagine. He grew up in the middle of a civil war in Congo, then fled to Rwanda where he lost many of his friends and family members in genocide. There he decided his worst day had not come yet. „I decided my past would not determine my future,“ he says.
In 2000 Alex escaped to Great Britain where he graduated: he received a Master's degree in Anthropology of Conflict and Violence at the University of Sussex; at Brighton University he continued his postgraduate studies in Management Studies. Today he helps and advocates diplomatic solutions to humanitarian crises and armed conflicts in the African Great Lakes region. He is a recognized expert on migration policy. He wrote the book Not My Worst Day about his personal experiences in Africa. He publishes professional studies and lectures. Alex has earned several awards for his work.
