What a great park. We stay there about twice a year on our way to Branson. My wife still has relatives near by the park and her mother grew up when the town was there at the park. We will be coming in and staying for a night next month.
As former COE Park Attendants, we've found many publications to be inconsistent with certain data from park to park. In the end, the absolute best source is Recreation.gov when making your reservation.
It has been a few years since I have bern to Old Greenville. That area has flooded a number of times. I used to live in the Poplar Bluff area. New bridge changed the driving route many years back. Several times in the past, I have seen the dugout at the Greenville baseball (north end of town) field under water, also have many times drive through water on the old 67 curve north of Greenville.

Markham Springs, not far from there, not great for camping but nice walking trail and fun to visit

We stayed there for 2 weeks last summer. Every site had full hookups. We were told the "upfit" to full hookups was fairly recent.
