The old church resemble the old Manila Cathedral , Manila Cathedral was several time rebuilt different style of Baroque design were applied during it's tribulent years of existence this style of the Church of Batangas almost exact replica of the Old Manila Cathedral, Manila Cathedral probably became the raw model of church builders in nearby provinces it "s nice to see that Manila Cathedral of the past still have a replica of it 's former glory The houses are all in the early Antillan Architecture Steep Roof Wooden upper floor with Capiz Sliding window surround the structure and an adobe ground floor in a very simple design the beauty of these structure are the use of natural material most of the houses in this style are often left unpainted and show the beaury of the natural color of the wood the other house with a massive wall with several butresses is in Earthquake Baroque style Pal Klemen developed this style and applied on Churches and in residences where the use of massive buttress protect the wall to fall giving the architecture a distinctive muscular appearance The Aguila family in Batangas is a prominent family of Spanish decent a relative of my father and Col Florentino Aguila my Uncle
