Suddenly, I'm back on my trusty steed, roaming the beautiful newly settled lands, scouting for the frontier to push further out into the wilderness than any other man has before. Greeting strangers with a hearty "Mornin' " as we ride past each other in a short moment of mutual trust in this wild, wild west; soon to be replaced with heavy smoke and fog from the inevitable industrialization of mankind which will one day bring down our entire civilization. This game was just absolutely amazing. One game that I can admit to crying over at the end was this one, had me in bloody tears for a week. Arthur and John, such life like characters that you just believe existed at one point. These characters are just so bloody amazing, because you slowly watch their personalities grow throughout the whole story. Hosea became such a great character that everybody got sad over his.. well, unfortunate defeat. Even watching Dutch slowly ascend into a dark headspace. I felt every part of that story, all of it. I will never get over riding with everyone to Braithwaite Manor. I felt powerful. As if I had more than myself to rely on in that battle. I looked at all of my allies riding with me behind Dutch and thought that nothing can stand in our way.

I'm such a strong person when it comes to being emotional/crying, but I heard that's the way it is after an year, and damn got literal chills and teary eyes. Never got this feeling apart from this game. Thank you so much Rockstar for this amazing emotional ride. This will forever be in my heart. ❤️
This isn’t a game This is a culture It is amazing No other game shares this experience It’s like we know the characters in person We (The Gamers) have made up stereotypes for each character like we all know Micah is a rat This game is like no other Dutch starts out as sane then he slowly becomes more and more insane It’s like the characters are human This game is a culture and it is like no other
Totally agree. Also the characters have so MUCH personality that it makes them real. As a gamer I didn't expect the character I play with to be so full of its own character and after the NPCs proved that as well. This game rides you through so many aspects: Loving to kill, steal, be an outlaw in general To why shouldn't I love it? To wtf why am I doing this? To why did I think it was cool? To FUCK I NEED MY PRECIOUs ARTHUR BACK
I named my horse after my dog, even matched the colours and tried to make him look as much as I could as my dog so you could kinda imagine how it went when he died
This game took time to make and think about, all of it was worth it. It's relaxing to hear these songs, like when you were playing. This is a game worth talking about, worth loving. It's sad that you won't ever play this game for the first time ever again.
unbelievable game. I'm not an avid gamer. Had a PS4 for the last 2 years. I have 3 or 4 games for it. Before PS4, I haven't had a game system other than super nintendo. In between it was just computer games. But not for quite a few years... I was hesitant to get this game, and when I did I barely played it because I found it overwhelming. So much detail and soo many things to do, so many things going on...i felt it would take forever. anyways I just finished Arthur's part. Such a weird feeling to feel something for a video game as I would an emotional movie. I barely held it together when he said thank you to his horse in the end. Considering everything, I need to take a break from the game before I continue on with Marston's shit. This was an intense experience for me. And maybe this is sad, but the character and the plot, interaction of the characters, the stories...Arthur's arc I think changed my life lol. That's how strong this game is.
I had this exact same journey with this game, down to taking a break after Arthur died. I was mad and very sad, (I was sepia stags all the way through the game) and prayed there were some way for Arthur to make it through. I was so surprised how this game affected me. Only except I just got the PS4 for my kids (I know there's more family friendly games on the Switch) and played only Spider-Man and Fallout 4 before this.
@@cocktail3318 but you actually can! Only that you do it playing as Jack, you need to head to Blackwater and then the mission mark will appear. Maybe you ain't really finish the whole game
I knew Arthur died before I even bought the game from watching playthroughs. I didn't think his dead would of bothered me as much as it did I got so connected, when I realised the tb was kicking in I only done like one story mission a day because it was making me feel so sad. I used to just ride around meeting strange people. The ride back to camp with "may I?" Really got me in my feels I was just taken back like woah I've never really felt like this a bout a fictional character. But all great this have an end so I gave up trying to savour it and just went for it, Arthur lived by the gun so he had to die by it. Playing as John just isn't as good. I'm gonna go back and just stay in chapter 3, just never leave it. It's just such an amazing game they better bring out story dlc if they don't it's just wasted potential. It's rockstar though so they'll probably just keep pumping unnessacery things into online until there's flying unicorns with missile launchers for a horn. At least they gave us this amazing story. R.I.P the realist nigga to ever live ARTHUR "COWPOKE" MORGAN
I remember being 11 and staring at the screen when John died/crying like a mess. I never thought I would feel that pain again but Arthur's death was somehow more painful and I'm 19 crying over a fictional character AGAIN It's been like 3 months since I have wrapped the game and still can't handle the music, lmao I'll try again next year
@@brodywarner258Fictional means that something didn't/doesn't exist in real life, Arthur may have been based off of something real but he himself is fictional

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the only game I’ve never actually replayed the campaign for. My reasoning for this is that all of the characters and experiences I had felt inexplicably real to me, and much like real life, once something has passed, there’s no going back. I don’t think I’ll ever replay it.

I was 12 when Star Wars came out.I never thought I'd be moved by another piece of art like I was then. Now in my 50s, Red Dead Redemption 2 has done the same thing. More than a great game. A work of art.
@@huzzzer6083 got my father to play this whilst I was in college, he was a bit reluctant after a bit of encouraging I forgot about it, when I got back from college he was riding around the heartlands enjoying the scenery, hunting, taking care of his horse playing dominoes in a train station, even though it doesnt seem a big deal I’ll never forget it just felt special, anyway needless to say he thought it was awesome and spent months riding around appreciating the world finding stranger missions and doing treasure maps finding and doing random shit for people. @@Coopdog0108 Maybe, but a lot of people said the same about RDR2- "The first game was a masterpiece, why are you trying to milk it with a prequel, we're not even playing as John, this is so stupid". Then they got to play it, and it's gotten near-universal acclaim.
I just completed the game and thats the way it is song, in that scene with Arthur riding to the camp the final time omfg it got me so good..... What a game and what a soundtrack.
At the risk of sounding like a little bitch, I choked up hard with the last hour or whatever it was of Arthur's story. Dude was an incredible character.
The sad part is, at the end of the game. I did the mission where you go hunting and fishing with Hamish, it's like Arthur is doing something for himself since he knew he will die soon. However, Hamish died while hunting the wild boar, and it's really sad because he asked for Arthur to take care of Buell. So I made Buell my main horse, however, Buell died at the final mission which is fucking sad! Arthur died afterward. That's just the way it is, life is tough in 1899.
I did the same! After a harrowing mission I thought I'd relax and do some hunting... nope Hamish dead. Ok I'll take Buell out of respect... he gets dead too. This game really doesn't let up on the gut punches.
I always bring my main horse on the last mission. It’s better than the thought of it sitting in some stable sand getting sold. It’s like the horses gets to die with his best friend
I think cruel, cruel world is the best song in this game. It perfectly represents the sadness, and happiness you feel when finishing this masterpiece of a game.

This game took time to make and think about, all of it was worth it. It's relaxing to hear these songs, like when you were playing. This is a game worth talking about, worth loving. It's sad that you won't ever play this game for the first time ever again.
I just refinished the story and my lord it was just as much of an emotional rollercoaster the 2nd time round
unbelievable game.
That my sir is how a game is supposed to be if that hapens you know you got a good game

I remember losing Buell, too. He was a good horse, it broke my heart.
Hamish is my favorite side character he got something special that I cannot explain
