With Mousinho at the helm and the full backing of the Eisners, I reckon mid table for us next season, wouldn't be surprised if we finished higher but mid table for me, Fratton park is an intimidating place so I cant see us losing too many points at home, so really all down to our away form which was unbelievable last season, all depends on who we get in really.
I'd settle for that. Shame we haven't got the derby, but good to be back after 12 long years!

As a Wednesday fan I’d love a dull mid table season TBH. But it’s possible we could do better. The Steel City Derby is definitely something that adds a bit of extra spice to the season. I think we will be top 10 with a reasonable transfer window. We’ve already resigned Bannan which is good news. Fingers crossed 🤞

Great content, fellow Cov fan here, and yes I am biased but with a couple of decent additions I can really see us pushing for automatic promotion this time. The poor finish to last season is a concern but I'm putting thst down to the Cup defeat. In MR we trust, PUSB.

I really wish everyone would stop writing off Oxford United and Plymouth Argyll. They are not the same animal as a Rotherham United, and have far greater ambitions than the likes of a Peterborough United or Wycombe Wanderers going forward, compared to when they came up then went straight back down. I think the pair of them could cause a few upsets next season, and maybe finish well clear of the drop zone. Des Buckingham - perfect manager for the club, can't argue that one. Also I feel it's Rooney's time to shine - 3rd time lucky as they say. Of course it is possible they both get relegated, but I'd really love to see them prove everyone wrong and actually make progressive in the Championship over the coming seasons.

With Boro, it's all about hitting the ground running and players staying fit. Injuries absolutely destroyed us last season and we still finished just shy of the playoffs. If lady luck shines on us, we could be top 2.
I honestly believe Portsmouth and QPR are going to have great seasons and yes Leeds will win the championship as for Burnley I'm not sure how they will respond after Kompany going to Munich.
Last but not least Rooney going to Plymouth I think there must be money for transfers otherwise why would he have gone to Plymouth.

And with Plymouth too, I like Plymouth and Rooney in there is gonna mess things up like it did for Birmingham, Hope it wont be the case though

Don’t underestimate us a lot of good things happening at oxford. New stadium and ambitions to be a top 30 club we wont be coming into the leauge to make the numbers up so if we do go down were go down fighting. COYY 💛💙
An impossible task this, but fun to listen to. I have a feeling that Prem spending will be a lot less than last year, so that could allow more Championship clubs to survive the annual scouring. Here's hoping! The Championship should be great viewing this season, and I look forward to the Ultimate Battle: Sophie's vs Matt's Predictions. Suggestions for a future prediction video: first manager to go, after which match will Watford jettison their gaffer, manager of the year, player of the year, furthest progress in the FA Cup, club dealing the biggest drubbing in a match, and after which match will Watford jettison their second manager this year?

@@patrickwatkiss7872Millwall were unbeaten at home under Harris and won 5 games in a. Row. If they carry that form to next season they will finish top 6
@@Connorpunk2024 Millwall did finish the season with a flourish from the Leicester game onwards and are certainly no pushovers. It's possible they could scrape the top 6, though I'd be inclined to believe with my gut that they'll finish 8th or so.
But back to the top 6 finishing, so will at least 2 of Luton, Hull, West Brom and Boro. And there's no way the Wall are finishing 4th or higher...
I must admit I am very disappointed with you saying blackburn are going to relegated because we might lose smozdics, we had that last year because we lost Diaz the time before that when Adam Armstrong left. The ONLY reason we were in the relegation dogfight last season is because we had a manager that did not give a monkeys because he wanted to leave and was not allowed to. Do I trust John eustace to take us forward not a chance but I doubt we will get relegated just because one player leaves. Unbelievable oh well I suppose a broken clock is right at least once.
@@patrickwatkiss7872 I based that on their form at the end of the season. Many teams when they are demoted go through a rebuild season for the next season. I think this is what Luton will do. West Brom may get top 6, I just thought I would throw a wild card in there. Boro not this year.
Nice and modest of you two, but this is now THE SEASON for Coventry, I see Sky Blues built a good teamwork, core team stays, they proven to be able to take down teams like Leeds, Liecester... also playing on such high level with Man Utd, that's already call for top 3. Regardless the quality of relegated teams, this is what our team should be aiming for.

Hi there Hull City fan here Good job guys. It looks about right to me just at the moment. Recruitment and retention is going to be important for most teams. The owner at Hull City has got the managerial appointment he wanted Tim Walter from Germany . Apparently we can expect heart attack football ,so can we expect Brazil 1970's style who knows. We may be a fun team to watch but knowing the football that is normally needed to get out of the league ,I hope we dont play naively otherwise we will get picked apart.

I’m old. So I remember having to wait weeks for the week before the season started when all the newspapers would have predictions.
And so I really appreciate all these early ones.
Of course the question is are they useful at all?
It’s just a bit of fun for most fans I guess but I bet solely on long term markets and yes I do think having the opinions of people who avidly watch football can only help. Especially as I have to start using these markets even in summer.

What you said about Watford was spot on. Some of our fans have lowered their expectations to mid/lower half of the table, but Tom Cleverley done well at the end of the season IMO, so hopefully we can do better than expected.
Fearing the worst but hoping for the best,the lot of a seasoned football supporter. But the team has talent,if only they'd use it effectively,and in Clevs we trust!

Argyle are staying up next season, hopefully better position than this season just finished, hopefully well above the drop zone, maybe mid table

Derby County/Portsmouth/Oxford United will win the Championship (Bring the vibes of the 1984/85 and 1986/87 seasons).

The mood in plymouth is still 50/50 on rooney , but in the last few days we have made a couple of new signings .... hopefully we can get mike phelan as rooneys no2 , i thinknthat would be massive for us .... i can see why everyone has us to go down but time will tell ... i got us to absolutely destroy the championship and win promotion by Christmas ( lol )
What on earth were Plymouth doing hiring Rooney? They seemed like the model well-run club slowly improving each season. Yes, they only stayed up on the final day, but most of that was down to the seismic shock of Schumacher leaving them in the lurch, and without that shock they would almost certainly have comfortably stayed up.
Surely there must have been loads of potential managers who would be a much better fit: the guys at Bolton, Mansfield, Stockport, Chesterfield, etc. An up-and-coming guy from a lower league instead of a big name who has failed big time. Such a strange decision from a club that seemed so sensible and grounded. Now I would say they are almost certainties for bottom place.
I'm not a Plymouth fan, by the way, I'm Norwich. So I have seen how one dreadful managerial appointment - in our case, Dean Smith - can destroy years and years of good work.
As a Pompey fan I’m kinda fuming but at the same time I kinda agree.

One of the main reasons Blackburn did so badly was John Dahl Tomasson. He had lost most of the dressing room and couldn't organise a defensive set up. They were far more organised under John Eustace. I think there are 10 teams worse than Blackburn but they will need to replace Szmodics in some way.

Burnley will definitely go up again. They did so well in the championship last time, can't say the same for Sheffield united tho

You can buy yoyos with Burnley on. One side it says premier league and the other side it says Championship.
No kompany and can’t see many of the players staying. So top 6 is fair but not a definite thing for them to go back up

Think Cov will get top 6 next season. Without that cup run and the disappointment of the Luton final I can see them pushing on. Just need to start the season better. A lot of the malaise with teams like us, Sunderland and Preston seemed to be the boredom of being stuck in mid table with nothing to play for.
Id put us top 12 as well maybe could get playoffs depending on transfers, id put cov top 12 as well, the form towards the end of the season didnt scream to me that they could push on for the playoffs next season, unless of course they have a good transfer window

Whilst i share people’s concerns about Rooney, hiring such a big name is massive for a club like Plymouth
I think that Norwich City would probably finish in 9th place in the Championship.
Argyle won’t be going down. You two have conveniently overlooked the transfer fees that will be available to us when Whittaker and Cooper are sold plus imminent investment. Rooney is now at his first STABLE club and will also have his first full transfer window to recruit in. Mid-table this season. Believe it.

Birmingham - not one player was his and also the manager who took over from WR had 20 games left and couldnt save them so perhaps they just where not good enough
This season he will for the first time have a pre season and perhaps bring in some of his own players
