- Answering all the questions about maternity leave! How I’ve structured maternity leave as a surgeon for each of my 3 kids, how long of a maternity leave I’ve taken, how to make it work, the challenges of going back to work, all talked about here!
Omgg i followed your channel when i was in high school and now im about to start my residency in opthalmology this year in march. I really love your channel thanks for sharing this part of your life too so people like me be able to grow up with inspiration like you.
I used to always watch your videos in med school, and now I am more than halfway through residency - time flies! Welcome back
I cant tell you how happy I feel to see your video again. 😊 Today itself, I was scrolling through your channel wondering when (and if) you'll upload again. Congratulations!! ❤ You are a part of the inspiration in my career, so thank you very much and please do keep uploading.
Congratulations! I am glad that you posted to update us all. Hopefully, you will keep posting more.
I waited four years for this. Welcome back!
Wow Andrea! What a great surprise to see this! Congratulations on your 3 children! I'm not on instagram and had no idea. Hope to see you back here again in the future! I love your videos, you're a fantastic communicator. I have a massive interest in medicine and used to love your videos
Aww yay happy you made a video!!
It is very true about separation from a new born. When my daughter was born, I walked into the hospital room and my wife was alone. I asked her where Peyton was and she told me the nurses came and took her. Man did I get a little upset. I went and looked for her so I could see her. It hits us all differently.
Missed your videos! I’m an Ophthal resident in UK and your videos inspired me to explore ophthalmology and eventually join it. Hope you keep making videos and congrats on baby #3!
Hi Andrea,
I'm not in the medical community and actually live over 5000 miles away from you in Europe. I just wanted to let you know that, even as a man, you gave so much inspiration to me personally, and I want to raise my daughter to be like you. I'm not sure if it's possible, but I will make an honest effort.
More than 10 years ago, I searched all over the internet to find the best learners, and I happened to find you through one of the sites that residents use to help them learn. In my opinion, you provided the best practical examples-solid advice both technically and mentally.
I'm planning to go back to university, even though I’m older now. Three , four long years lie ahead of me, but I'm sure your channel will be a huge help. I will visit it whenever I'm stuck.
So even though you don't update your content, just know that your work continues to impact someone else's life.
I'm also very happy and proud that you excel not just as a doctor, but as a wife and mother. What you do is truly exemplary.
6 weeks maternity leave is criminal 😮In Belgium it’s 3 months or 4 months depending on the company you work at, partenity leave is 15 days too

CONGRATULATIONS. Wonderful video...and it's great to see a new video from you after so long.
Wow just wow wow wow I love sou
Just a advice , you should not have your baby on video , when you post a video to TH-cam , google owns that video , they can sell it or do whatever they want with it . And TH-cam is full with creeps and pedophiles that can download that video with your baby and use it for their own disgusting purposes You should be very careful displaying your baby online , you don’t know who is watching
Just a friendly piece of advice Andrea .
Just keep infants out from public view online ,period, I know you love your baby but if you want what’s best for her or him . Don’t include the baby in your videos , they can’t consent so you have to make that determination for your kid .
Taking videos of your baby is great if it’s private , they are memories, but keep the videos private so not 10 billion people can view it . Infants have no place online , they are innocent and precious. If you gone to med school you should now these things , it’s irresponsible behaviour Andrea
there are privacy and safety concerns of infants when they are posted online. There are risks associated with sharing photos of young children, especially when they don’t have the ability to consent to having their images shared with the world. The internet can be a very public space, and it’s difficult to predict how those images might be used.
Your baby can’t consent being shared with the world 🌍
Omg :)
Omg u wonder what happened to you recently!!! I used to love your studying videos they helped me through college!!!!
