Excellent comparison! In camera audio, no distinguishable difference... On the video, IMO the 4 looks more true to life, perhaps more natural for lack of better words, and 5 is a little brighter and saturated and a teeny bit fuzzy around the leaves of trees (at 4:30 - admittedly nit picky using a monitor to view this). I think my preference would be to shoot in DLogM on either camera and apply the DJI Lut and adjust it from there which should best give one's desired look. As you always say its a personal preference and what appeals to the end user. NOTE: The sun shows up quite differently and slightly processed on the 5 to my eye (shooting DLogM can correct that). Agreed, go with the 5 if you have a much older camera. And if on a budget, the 4 is a great value right now. Again AWESOME comparison! 👍
Probably not worth it to upgrade just for the camera quality. But if value things like the long runs times, improved low light, bigger brighter screens and even tracking, it might be worth it. And I don't shoot a lot in normal, I mostly use D-LOG M, and apply the correction LUT. At point almost none of the issues you mentioned are a problem, and footage looks great with plenty of Dynamic range. Thanks for leaving a great comment Alex.
The Action 5 is a significant upgrade, the details in the shadows are way better. Just a much better dynamic range. The bonus of a better screen makes it a no-brainer for anyone looking for the best action camera. Great video, Ron 👍
Totally agree, more dynamic range was one of the selling points. I mostly shoot in D-LOG and apply the conversion LUT, and thats's were video quality really comes out. Thanks for watching my friend.
for the money, the action 4 wins, atleast for me! Amazing video quality and features for a great price! I got a combo pack for less than the regular 5pro
Are you sure the video on the right is the Action 4? It has the hdr look of the action 5 and the video on the left looks more like my Action 4 footage . Particularly in the clip where you are sitting.
It's probably not upgrading based only on the camera quality. The big upgrades on the A5P and longer run times, better & brighter screens, improved frames and even tracking. You have to figure out if those new features are worth it to you. Thanks for watching Brian.
I think on the 4, you can have both screens on at the same time as well. I say that because i have the 3, and I can have both screens on at the same time. You just have to find the setting in the menu.
I´m sorry but It is impossible the right video is Action 4, i think you swapped them by mistake. The right video has all the characteristics of Action 5. Unnatural sky color and lighter shadows.
That's impressive Ron. The dynamic range on the Action 5 is clearly superior. Thank you for show this to us.
I think you'll really love the Action 5's dynamic range, glad you liked the comparison. Thanks for watching Marcus.
Amazing Ron! Quite an improvement from the Action 4 to the 5 pro. Great comparison.
Thanks for watching John, I hope you enjoyed it.
To "me", I still prefer the detail of the Action 4
Thank you for your video! If the difference $150, would you get OA 4 or still go for 5 ?

I prefer the right side, which seems to be the Action 4, so I'm surprised about that.
A lot of people agree with you. Thank for watching Kris.
What im seeing on my screen, the camera on the right looks a lot clearer. Thanks for sharing ron 😁👌👍 🇬🇧
Thanks for your leaving your thoughts, many people agree with you.
The 4 looks better.

Great clip Ron. I have the Action 4 and I'm on the fence whether to upgrade or not.

Several people have said the same thing, maybe it was on by default on the A5P. Thanks for pointing that out.
So Beautiful 🔄⭕🔄, my dear friend Ron Brown
Thanks for the compliments, I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
