Does it have a loud voice prompt whne turning on? and "your device is connected" voice when paired?

Yes, it does has a voice prompt but it isn't too loud. I wish all speakers in the future didn't have that feature but some prefer it.

I just ordered these from amazon and I should get them sometime next week if they're back in stock. I got these for work since I assume they work like the bose soundwear companion and I can hide them under my clothing and still listen to music and my surroundings.
Monster and Beasts by Dre partnership ended sometime around 2012 and then apple bought Beats By Dr a few years later. Apple seems to be fading Beats By Dre out to have their own lines of "quality" headphones

I’ve been experiencing sudden volume changes (loud) shortly after the device turns on. Really annoying. Anyone know how to fix this? Using it with ipad.

It's a personal wearable speaker. 100% volume is heard by the user and is near silent by anyone else, therfore you cant do sound tests with personable wearable speakers.

    How's the latency for gaming

      It is bad....

For gaming I use the Avantree Torus Wearable Wireless Speaker. but to use it with no latency you will need to get the Avantree AptX Transmitter. I have not tried it without the transmitter. I believe the AptX codex is what cuts down the latency. I have a pair of TaoTronics AptX headphones I use with my Quest VR headset along with a TaoTronics AptX transmitter. I get NO latency as long as I Use AptX.

i just returned my newly bought monster boomerang speaker, pls refer amazon review as below:
The most AGGRESSIVE audio limiter I have ever encountered on any speaker.
Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2021
At first glance, the Monster Boomerang is a premium product. It has nice packaging, and the built quality is good. It is flexible and comfortable to wear. However, it has one fatal flaw that makes this speaker completely unusable for music. And it's a shame, because it has so much else going for it.
The big flaw is that the audio has a limiter that automatically kicks in whenever there is bass in a song, like a drum beat. So in rap music for example, the vocals will be loud until the beats and bass kicks in, and then the vocals go quiet. So if you turn it up to hear the vocals more clearly, then whenever the bass and beats stop in the song, you will be blasted with the vocals at much higher volume. Every time the kick drum hits, the mids and highs dip on you, a LOT.
This kind of auto volume limiting I've encountered in audio software and I am very familiar with what it is intended to do. However, it is executed so poorly on the Boomerang that it entirely changes how a song sounds as it fluctuates the volume up and down, completely against what the song is intended to sound like.
Look, I love most everything else about this. I have a cheapo "Lanniu" neck speaker also, and it has no bass at all compared to the Monster and often sounds tinny and distorted. The Monster should sound better, and it would, if it weren't for the awful sound processing on it. Yet I just don't enjoy at all when my music is fluctuating in volume so much whenever there is any bass. It ruins the entire music listening experience. You can use this for podcasts just fine, but if that's all you're doing, save your money and get a cheaper one. I enjoy using the cheaper neck speaker for music way more, because it's not messing with the rhythm and vibe of my music. Any song that has a beat, you will find the mids and highs dipping HARD for every kick drum and then going back up. It is infuriating how much this thing messes with the sound.
If anyone is interested, I might record a video demonstrating this effect on the Monster Boomerang and compare it to other speakers, and I could link the original audio as well so you can really tell the difference. Trust me, it is a VERY aggressive limiter on this thing and it's an absolute shame, a major oversight on a product intended for listening to music. I cannot recommend this to anyone if they intend to use it for music. Sorry, Monster. This is a fail. Perhaps it could be fixed with a firmware update. But until then, one star.
