Welcome to the first episode from our Cunard Queen Anne series! Join us for a look around the magnificent ship - what's your thoughts of this brand new Cunard ship?
This would be a very classy way to join this ship at Liverpool old port (not Birkenhead) and sail across the Irish Sea to Dublin now that Dublin Port has been expanded to take cruise ships - Cunard should take this ship on a British Isles Cruise all around the U.K. and all around Ireland 🇮🇪☘️🇮🇪❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for the video, lads. Great to have a walkthrough perspective. She really is a magnificent ship. Many Cunard traditionalists seem a little conflicted by the new design, but I think it's a fantastic (and brave) effort to try to transition the company into the future with potentially a new customer demographic.
Our pleasure! Yes we completely agree and have had the same conversation with many, even big Cunard fans! Think it’s something the brand needed to try for sure.
Fantastic Video!! Thank You Gentlemen for all the hard work to make this possible! I’m booked for the Anne’s Transatlantic Maiden Voyage in January 2025 ! Really excited ! I’m an avid Cunard super fan and have sailed on all the other three queens. Love all of them !!! For me, the jury is still out as far as Queen Anne goes?!? Not thrilled with the contemporary interior decor. And the design of the Promenade Deck is VERY disappointing! Perhaps I will change my mind when I see it in person? Don’t get me wrong, I will very much still enjoy the maiden voyage, BUT for now I will continue to be a supporter of QM2, Victoria and Elizabeth!!! You guys are awesome. Always enjoy your videos and your entertaining and funny personalities ! Such WICKED or should I say CHEEKY senses of humour ! Cheers, your fan MikeW.🇬🇧🇺🇸
Yeah, she certainly divides opinion! Will be interesting how we find her on a proper cruise, think we’ll like her lots to be honest. QM2 is something else. Don’t think any ship will ever compare to her ❤️ Thank you so much for the support 🥰
Good review, was nice to see the Queen Anne sailing along the solent by Portsmouth onto Southampton. The Britannia restaurant looked more impressive than the club dinning room I think.
Loved this! I totally agree with you that the renders didn't do it justice before launching - I've found I'm much more 'bought in' to this ship since seeing so many creators onboard - the ship comes across so well 'in the flesh', rather than in the professional photos. One venue that was interesting to see in this video was the Golden Lion pub - I'm always amazed how that place always feels like a traditional British pub, but it doesn't seem to have been pulled off as well as it has been on the other ships. Loved this video - I now can't wait for the first batch of cruisers to get off and sort their content!
💯- the renders didn’t do it justice at all! We think because it’s a bigger and lighter space it may seem that way. Know what you mean. Glad you enjoyed! Yeah there will be lots over the next couple of weeks. Have you booked Anne yet?
@@CruiseMonkeys yeah, totally agree! I haven’t booked yet, but eyeing up a short cruise towards the end of the summer that miiiight work! 🤞🏼 How about you guys?
Great tour as always and I've no doubt it's a lovely ship. I'm slightly underwhelmed but I'm sure I'll be impressed when I board in August. It seems they're trying to attract passengers who don't like traditional Cunard. I can't see her knocking Queen Victoria off my #1 favourite ship. I really dislike the lifeboats blocking the promenade view.
We’re sure you will! This is definitely a ship moving away from the tradition, looking to attract customers from the likes of Celebrity etc. we’d think. Very different to the other queens. Yes many have said the same about the prom.
Loved everything about this video, so well done. I can't wait to board her but sadly it won't be until next March. Looking forward to your next video......thank you both x
Great tour of the ship. We have cruised many times with Cunard and love the ships. On QA later this year. QE and QV can be a bit quiet post 10pm. Hopefully QA will have lots of 'nightlife'. I believe the Bright Lights Society is not to be missed. Looking forward to hearing about your next cruise on QA.
Great video lads, really enjoyed it,Cant wait to see the next. Also looking forward to when you sail on her for a full cruise, i cant remember if you said in this video when 😜
Glad you enjoyed it! Ohhh, didn’t we mention, we’re back on there in June 🤣🤣🤣 Joke aside, since being home we’ve been so excited to get back onboard, that’s genuinely how much we were wowed by it!
Thanks for your video, so pleased that finally showers have a grab rail for those not so steady on their feet! Looking forward to trying it out on June 7th 24
Thanks Luke & Gavin, Great information and look around Queen Anne. Looking forward to getting on her in August , Shame lifeboats restrict views on prom deck ,but better than obscured balcony deck ?😊
Very welcome, hopefully useful! It is a shame about the lifeboats getting in the way on the prob deck. According to the deck plans deck, the balconies on deck 4 are listed as obstructed but not sure how obstructed they are, to be honest we think they’ll be partially obstructed, with lifeboats obstructing downward view / lower half - we’re sure pictures will become available over the next few cruises.
5:41 did you get to see the Bridge? I’m so used to ferries like the Irish Ferries Ulysses Cruise Ferry, the Irish Ferries WB Yeates, as well as the Stena Adventurer Ferry from Holyhead to Dublin (there is a documentary about the Ulysses on Superships) with the WB Yeates being twice the size of the Ulysses, but I’ve seen a lot of the other cruise ships on Ben & David’s TH-cam Channel 🇮🇪☘️🇮🇪❤️❤️❤️❤️
A lovely ship, the design is just amazing. Not sure about all that marble though especially in rough sea, one wet patch and you're flying! Apart from the models, do you ever keep trinkets from your cruises, like that mini map?
What a great whistle stop tour guys, the ship looks amazing. Having travelled with Cunard since 2004, we are definitely in the traditional Cunard crowd and are struggling with the new design language, but we will reserve final judgement until our trip in October 😊. We are going in Queens Grill and we were wondering, do you still have to get into a particular lift and use your cruise card to access the Grills area like QE & QV or is it like QM2 where anyone has access to the area? Really looking forward to seeing your vlogs from your upcoming voyage, thanks 😍🚢
Thank you! Yea, she sure does, think they’ve done a good job. It will divide opinion that’s for sure! The ship was ‘open’ on our visit so we are not sure, we think it would be key card access to the areas as we do recall on the open deck area there was a door with card reader to go in to the Grills area (which is lovely with those big hot tubs). Hope that helps and we’ll take a closer look in June!
Good to see this and thanks for the overview. This Queen seems to have a very different interior design than the other Cunarders. You boys have any thoughts about that/ any preferences? I sort of felt that the decor was one of the things that made the Queens different from just another generic cruiser. Looking forward to the "voyage" ;-)
It certainly is different and will decide opinions. For a new ship, we really like it. Yes, it’s not comparable to the older queens but we think Cunard are trying to be modern while trying to retain some of their history and we think they’ve done a good job from the brief time we were onboard. We’re looking forward to getting back onboard and spend some real time in the venues :)
Great tour as usual… but I’m a little underwhelmed, it all feels a bit generic and doesn’t seem to capture that sense of occasion, history and style that Cunard are famous for…
I’d say it doesn’t look Cunard but it feels every bit Cunard onboard. It’s still sophisticated and elegant now with just a more modern take on the decor. The only venue I felt slightly underwhelming was the queens room, the screen/stage area was really cool but the lights/ceiling very plain. However as Cunard are aiming this ship at a younger demographic ballroom dancing is outdated and I can see why it feels more like a night club, which is also why there is no longer a yacht club it’s now all here in one place. The pool area, chart room bar, commodore club and Britannia dining room are all still very elegant and very tastefully decorated 👌🏻
Jury is out on this one, the decor is a bit too modern for me. I’m sure we will end up on her at some point but call me a snob but I do prefer the traditional look. It’s the Carnival way nowadays to create this look as shown on pretty much all ships launched by the company over the last few years. Back on Britannia Friday to the Baltics which is contemporary but still just about retains that old look. Anyway love your vids (Especially the boozing)
12:51 at my age, I’d be in the Spa and the thermal area, facials, manicure, pedicure, beauty treatments and massage - I don’t think the fitness area would be for me though, as I’d be the type of cruiser that would be into a total chill out and relaxing cruise experience
Sorry to say that wrap around prom deck is ruined by the life boats blocking the view, it's not a useable prom deck in my opinion. On the ship plan its not made clear the lifeboats are actually on the same deck (Cunard brochure) I suspected they'd be suspended from the deck above keeping a clear view on the prom deck. Glad we've only booked a 4 nighter, that's a deal breaker for me unfortunately. Apologies for the observation but I'm soooo flippin disappointed about that ☹️
Ah yeah, it’s not your traditional prom deck that’s for sure and as some mention, no room for those lovely steamer deck chairs! The plans are strange as it shows them on the cabin deck 4, so those balconies are partially obstructed but also the prom deck. Such a shame! We believe after Concordia, SOLAS require lifeboats on the lowest accessible deck which is why this design, or now, as seen on the likes on Iona the prom decks go above the life boats. It is such a shame as that ‘proper’ prom deck on a ships is such a fantastic space.
The fold out ones? Oh we thought everyone had them, maybe they forgot to place it in the stateroom as we had friends on the maiden and they said they had one.
@@CruiseMonkeys Absolutely. The maiden was a journey of mixed fortunes. Britannia dinner sittings varied in length from an hour up to what would you like for breakfast as you have been here that long. A 90 minute wait for the main course in Princess Grill. Waits of up to 30-45 minutes for a drink in the Commodore Club all thanks to the new tablet system falling over. Not their finest week at sea. Have to say our Deluxe Ocean View with its separate shower room on deck 1 was superb as was the quality of the food throughout, less so the ambition.
What do you mean? They didn’t greet us when we arrived? We checked in as usual saw the bell boys/girls had photos with them, we were greeted going through security etc (but you can’t film that) we were met by our cabin steward but didn’t film him until later on because we wanted to check he was ok with it as he didn’t have a uniform at that time. We felt very welcome it was business as usual
Sadly the ship lacks any form of majstic ambience thers was no wow facters what so ever not sure people will be making many trips on this one time will tell 😮
Ship's internet BLOCKS Google Docs, Google Sheets, all VPNs, Microsoft Outlook, Google Maps and many other productivity sites. Unless you're retired, won the lottery or are on welfare, DO NOT step foot on this ship if you have a real job and need to do any work whatsoever.
The great thing is, they still have the 3 other queens for those that prefer the more traditional Cunard experience and then for those who want something a little sifferent, Anne is a great choice.

You two are my favorite cruisers. Thank you for being so real. I love every moment of your cruises!

That suite bathroom was amazing. Hope azura vlogs are out soon. We're on her in July so would be good to see them before we go
How the other half live! Yes, we’re away next week and then will be starting work on them so you should see some before you go 😀

They are definitely trying to modernise!
IMHO a very underwhelming, mediocre mass market ship. Design is not far from one of the new Costa ships.
Many say it’s very similar to HAL ships too!
I'm sorry, but it is quite simply disgusting. To me it s not a Cunard ship. It is gauche and crass to me.
