I have the N40-5, and I like it a lot. It vents very well, it's light, pretty quiet, and I like the buckle over D rings. Also the drop down sun visor is not spring loaded, so no worry about that failing down the road. Plus it's a good fit for those of us that don't have Shoei heads.
i like an open face helmet one thing about this helmet i like is the visor/peake we all know what it's like when the sun is low in the sky and your squinting and tilting the helmet to shade your eyes so you can see clearly and safely are there other helmets with a peak sun visor and shield open face .
I have one of these in Hi-viz yellow and like it very much. comfortable, maybe a little louder but in Florida, much cooler than my N-104. Only issue I've had is the face shield seems VERY difficult to remove. would buy again as a second helmet for hot weather.
Yeah.... fan of the N40. Good fit for my head, and comfortable to wear for several hours. No fan of the sun visor.... Wear eyeglasses with photochromic lens. I like that the peak has 3 positions.... right up for visor up at low speeds..... mid most of the time on the open road; no helmet lifting protects the nose from the noonday sun...... low in the evening when the sun is low in the sky. Have never been able to get along with full face helmets..... the N40 provides more coverage than a regular 3/4 helmet, but still good peripheral vision. Suits me just fine...... though might be inclined to pick up a N21 for a spare, and around town use.... less coverage, but Ok for town speeds, and easier to put on..
@Michael Way Bare in mind that the sun visor has safety concerns because in case of an accident it could break and pieces can go in the eyes. This review is from 8 years ago so I'm not sure if the current model still have the sun visor. Nolan is an Italian respected pioneer as helmet manufacturer and they just celebrated 50 years in the business 1972-2022.
Nolan started using WATER based paint on this series and after about 1.5 years it starts to BUBBLE and detach. Once that starts the paint is DONE, fried, gone UGLY. If yours has not YET started to peel (it will, read the forums) you can minimize or delay by PPV or clear coat over a top quality adhesion promoter, 3M makes a great one. Best advice AVOID the water based helmets from Nolan😊
Given that a N44 is only €40 more than the N40, I don't see why this helmet exists. And with a bit of effort you can get a N44 for under €200 anyway. So again why does the N40 even exist...
Good to see a reviewer from a retail store being honest about the product.

The peak causes helmet vibration at highway speeds. However the venting, fit, etc makes this my favorite 3/4 helmet.
I have 3 different Nolan Helmets. This one is my favorite, especially here in hot Florida.

I tried using it with the peak, but at freeway speeds, it causes my helmet to vibrate making everything in my field of view shaky.
You say that at this price point there are better options on the market. Could you recommend me a better one? Thanks.
@Giorgos Giannakoglou It's much cheaper now so when you compare products always check the current prices.
Not so sure the Shoei RJ Platinum is a "bang for the buck" option at almost $500.
I absolutely don't think it is. No face shield, no drop down sun visor. I have 3/4 helmets purchased for under $200 that have more features.
Doesnt sound to happy with this product huh? Thats probably the first time ive heard anthony mono toned with somthing.

Could we please have that again but in intelligable English and at a much slower delivery. Jeez!

It’s an old video, but this helmed sucks. The wind pushes the shield down in your line of vision. Ridiculous and very dangeroes. Don’t buy.
