A small step in the transformation of becoming United States Marines, weekly haircuts are meant to strip recruits of their individuality and for hygienic purposes.

To clarify: I haven’t been in the military or any form of basic training. I hope to join still though if it’s indeed true that they literally been there for like years or something. it’s almost easy money and it’s what you gotta do. Hello Mike, im not in the military, but i have a cousin thats in the Army. I don't know what station or rank my cousin is in i don't pay that much attention to all that. My hair grows fast, so if i ever get my hair cut bald like these kids in this video my hair would grow back in 2 weeks. I can use hair gel to spike my hair up for 4 weeks, and by the end of the 4th week when my hair gets puffy and dampy i use my gel to slick back my hair to look like the Don from the "Godfather" movie.

I swear to this date the barbers sharpened the teeth on their machines so that we recruits could feel the teeth ripping around our ears and on our neck. If I had long hair, then I wouldn’t go ofc, but if I hypothetically didi, I would donate it and have only short hair so that it doesn’t go to waste. And I wouldn’t go anyways as to not torture myself & I don’t even have long hair.
Oh lord don’t do that. They still have to technically “shave” it and dig into the scalp. One of my friends was bald before he enlisted and grew out his hair before going in.

I wore a buzzcut for most of last year. But the atmosphere here, the whole setting of this, looks to me like all the warmth and personality gets buzzed away from them.
That’s one of the reasons they did it.

@@qase8070 I had all lengths from a No. 0 to a No. 6 (19mm or 3/4"). I think for the same length all over I used the No. 3 (10mm or 3/8") the most out of them.
But later I went from the same all over to fading it down on the sides, like a No. 1 (3mm or 1/8") over the ears into a 1.5 (3/16" or 4.5mm) into a No. 2 (1/4" or 6mm) into the top, usually a No. 6 or longer.
Right now though I grow it a bit for a slickback / rockabilly style (it's about a No. 8 (1" or 25mm) on the sides and a No. 18 (2.25" or 57mm) on top.
That’s because they do. One of the reasons i would never go to the military. I am an individual and absolutely despise masses and conformity. These people basically got the Buzzcut against their will and that’s why they all look like animals on the way to the slaughterhouse. If you do it out of your own free will you can rock it with confidence. I had an undercut and then always wanted to see what a buzzcut is like. So i buzzed it to like a 3 because i always liked the Raymond Reddington Style from Blacklist. Once you do that and are confident, nothing can take your confidence away because there is no hair. Once you built confidence with a buzz cut or no hair you would stay confident even if someone forced you to get all the hair buzzed like these guys in the video. I love the buzzcut btw. Late night showers, feeling the raindrops, what a great experience!

@@DrOctatonic Yeah I have a similar condition. No matter how much Head & Shoulders I use I always have some stuff left in my hair. Head & Shoulders does help but it's always an above normal amount. Tho it's not just on the scalp it sometimes activates on certain parts of my face. For my face I use a cream to calm it down and eventually get rid of it but things like stress and shit reactivate it.

When I was in job corps a guy asked me to give his a marine corps haircut, I asked him 3 times if he was sure and he said yes times.
When people saw me cutting his hair they started laughing and I told them he asked for a marine corps haircut and they stopped laughing.
When I was done I showed him the haircut he screamed and ran and told the RA and he was crying, she asked me what did he ask for I responded a marine corps haircut.
She looked at him and said he gave you what you asked for, she than looked at me and said you did a good job with I responded thank you ma’am.
The moral is know what you really want than don’t complain if it didn’t cost you a dime, be sure to say thank you.

Back in 68 Air Force Basic we got the haircut on the second day of basic right after our first pay which was something like $25.00 which we spent mostly on stuff we were told we had to have, sosp container, soap, shampoo, razer, shaving cream. Everyone had to have the same brand. The haircut was 75cents and we were encouraged to tip a quarter.

Edit Sat/01/16/2021 at 14:48 at least 9 months later: I actually have mutilated it, but it’s still at least 4” in the front, and I’m not going to mutilate the very bottom part of the back. However, it’s not the same because I kind of wanted to do it, plus I’ll also grow all of it out eventually. However, I could’ve definitely at least had 7.5” in the front if I just didn’t mutilate it at all after I fixed the proportions and eliminated all of the damage on Sat/07/31/2020.
