Coming from a Master EUW player, Sett isnt OP, he is just "unbalanced". That doesnt mean he is too strong. Sett is insanely strong against melee champs, thats his thing, but absolute garabge vs. ranged people. His only way to get close to ranged champs is his ultimate, or flash E. Thats the "balance". Feels unfair if you play as a melee against him, feels unfair if you play as a ranged vs him cuz he cant do much and he looks pathetic. But its the same thing when playing Rammus. U pick him if you are against many AD Champs. Feels unbalanced.

But that's the weaknesses of every other juggernaut and lot of tanks. It's not exclusive to sett and sett is usually better at dealing withe Range compared to juggernaut like Darius who is practically forced to take ghost.

He went from 80 hp to 400 in 14 seconds. Half a healing pot for 60 over the first few seconds, but like... Goon was healing around 23 per second, whereas other champs literally struggle with healing 30 in 15 seconds. Truly obscene.

@@cere_lac Have you actually seen Garen passive numbers? at level 5 Garen heals 2.3% max health every 5 seconds and needs to be out of combat for 8 seconds. At least if I hit a Garen he will not heal. If he's healing and not letting you hit chances are he's probably missing a lot of CS because you can zone him out from farming if you threaten to stop his passive.

Let me break it down and explain why it is batshit insane.
First, Sett does have Doran's Shield. That provides him with a flat 1.2 HPs(Health Per second), and then it has the potential to provide him with up to 5 HPs.
There is no indication that he does have Second Wind, as no buff appears on the buff counter, thus you can't claim that he does have Second Wind. Unless, of course, Second Wind is broken and does not appear as a buff on the buff counter, which would then be an indication of how well made the game is. But, fine, we will go ahead with the supposition that he does have Second Wind. 0.6 HPs and 4% missing Health over 10 seconds, which would be 1503, because he falls down to 84. Thus, we get an extra 6 HPs, as 4% of 1503 is 60, and then we divide that by 10.
That would be a grand total of 6+0.6+1.2+5 = 12.8 HPs.
Refillable potion, which was halfway expired, gives him an extra 10 HPs.
And, thus, that's 22.8 HPs from items and runes. Cool, I'd say, and be done with it, but notice how the duration was 14 seconds. None of those lasts for 14 seconds. Each of them falls off. First fell off Refillable Potion, then Doran's, then Second Wind, and, by the last 4 seconds, he was just chugging on his passive. His passive, which had his health regen at a comfortable 11 HPs.
Sett has 2 HPs, base, at level 9. He still has that 1.2 HPs from Doran's Shield... And then the remaining 8 HPs comes from his passive. That is insane, not only because it is straight up, a slightly weaker Refillable Potion, but because Sett's passive doesn't ONLY do that. Sett's passive... Stay with me... Makes his attackspeed 4x greater than it actually is. Because he gets to hit once with his Left Punch, at normal speed (1x) and then he hits once with his Right Punch, at super speed, (x8). Average that, he hits 4x as fast as his attackspeed would suggest he does. NOT only that, but he also does bonus damage every other attack and gets bonus range. In short, he already has an incredibly powerful passive... And then it's made even more powerful by slapping a Health Pot on it.
But okay, let's compare to Garen. So, Garen gets 4.9% of his max HP as Health per 5... But that only happens 8 seconds after he has taken damage. So, in this situation, whereas Sett had the immense support of his passive pumping out ludicrous amounts of health for him, Garen Would have only been healing what his items and runes would have allowed. Thus, if he had the same items as Sett here, and the same Runes, he would have healed 22.8 over 4 seconds, then that goes down to roughly 13, then that goes down to 8, then that goes down to 1.2 over the remaining 4 seconds. If we are generous and give him his base HPs, which is 1.6, he'd have healed a lot less.
His passive would have kicked in at the 9th second and worked for 5 seconds total, restoring 4.9% of his max hp, which, in this situation, would've been, if we go with the supposition that his HP is the same as that of Sett here, would've been 77.
So, Garen gets to heal... 88 HP over the first 4 seconds, then, over the next 4 seconds, he would've healed for a staggering ~52, and, then, over the next 2 seconds, he would have healed for around 15... And then the last 4 seconds would have had him healing for a whopping total of around 10. Add, to that, 77 from his passive kicking in after the bigger numbers went down, and you get 242 Health restored over these 14 seconds. If we add his base HPs, which is 1.6, he gets around 22 more, so that's 264 total Health restored over these 14 seconds...
Which is around 60 less than what Sett got. And, do keep in mind, Garen's passive ONLY does that. It doesn't increase his damage at all.
Okay, so what about Dr. Mundo? Well, Dr. Mundo has a reason for having that as his passive - his spells cost health to use! If he didn't have a means of replenishing health, things'd be quite dire. Either way, let's use the Garen calculations and slap the 155 healing over the 14 seconds from the items, add an intense 36 for his HPs (which is, at level 9, a very hearty 2.6) for a total of 191. Cool, next up, his passive...
At level 9, that's 1.47% of his max hp every 5 seconds... So 1.47% of 1587 is 23. And then 23/5 to get the HPs leads us into 4.6. That, times 14... Oh no, that's less even than Garen! 65 total. Mundo heals for a WHOPPING 256.
Both of these guys get WAY less than Sett. We're not even considering the amount of health that his passive was pumping out for him from the start of the fight, so it's actually quite generous to call him insanely strong off of that, and leave it as is.
If his passive was EXCLUSIVELY the Health Regen, that'd have been okay. Unfortunately, it isn't just that. THUS, champ's broken by design.

Compared to other champs whose passives provide sustain, Sett outperforms them monstrously in this situation. Thus, based on the fact that his passive is as bonkers insane as it is, this is still an example of why Sett is, indeed, broken by design. Fundamentally flawed, if you will.

that’s a stupid argument and i hate when people use it. sett is stupid and brainless but a ton of people play him, meaning a ton of people lose as him. as for pick rate, he has the eight highest pick rate, and the reason he isn’t first is because not everybody enjoys him, he’s a simple champ who uses a lot of auto attacks. ezreal is currently the most picked champ and he has a 49% win rate. the highest win rate champ currently (zyra) is picked 7.53% of the time. which is 53rd most picked.

number 1. fiora isn’t brainless. she requires skill to properly learn and thought process. 2. i never complained about sett being easy. it was simply a fact, though him being easy plays into why i don’t like him, it’s not a big complaint. my biggest complaint is the amount of damage his w can do. everybody says “just dodge it” but when you’re in a team fight it’s gonna be hard to keep track of that consciously. 3. his w, when built properly, can do up to 2.3k true damage. with a basic ability. 4. his passive gives him sustain that is completely unnecessary (though makes sense from a lore standpoint). i don’t have a big problem with his difficulty, i have a problem with how much damage he can do, even when he’s down 0/10.

You know a champ may be too strong or is a problem to the game when you need to build against him before the rest of the team. Versus Sett, you have to have anti heal, anti shield, resistance (but true damage exist so fu for trying to resist), engage all in one because of his insane regen but not too much because he can also full engage on your face and kill you before… this champ is insanely strong and easy for his power, kinda like a Garen on steroids
You don't need antiheal. An armor item reduces setts non W damage sources by half, he doesnt build armor pen. Serpents fang makes sett half a champion. The hp regen is dogshit after 10minutes. Anything else you wanna vent on?

I may say I still think you need anti heal for his HP regen which can go crazy but by not playing Sett, I didn’t knew what they usually build and I searched for guide but they pretty much never really explain what they seek for items as Sett.
