👋 Hi from southern New Mexico...What a beautiful place to camp. I remember the outhouses when I was real young and the time there was a hunt on the farm with all the hounds baying. 🙂 ...You have a great set up. Tali enjoying herself. Yup don't sweat the small stuff..Angels all around you and Tali and the family.
Welcome back TheLvablebird! 'Hope is all well with you in southern New Mexico! Tali girl & I do enjoy our camp. Thank you! Yes, we do have Angels! God Bless my friend & Thanks for watching!
Isn't it the truth Jason! Dealing with disappointment is all about viewing it from the proper perspective. Keeping a positive attitude has always been a challenge it seems. Dealing with real tragedy, like my family had to this past Fall is quite a bit tougher. Thank you for taking the time to watch this video all the way to the end. Most folks don't do that and they miss out finding some encouragement they may have needed otherwise. Your comment above made my heart smile. Thank You Sir & Thanks for watching!
First husband took me to the "Endoor Furnace". It sure was interesting to see where the ore had been dug out of the ground to be taken to the Furnace to be made into ammunition for our Confederate forces. Ammunition was then transported on the Green River to it's ultimate destination.
Bill I said it before but I have to say it again , you have the best camp ever ! 👍 I talk to my dog the same way you talk to Tali Dog lol .My grandkids think Grandpa flipped his lid sometimes . You and Tali Dog stay safe and thanks for sharing . God Bless !

You just gotta roll with what's thrown atcha. And sometimes you really do have to Unwrap A Smile! Being able to laugh at yourself is good tonic. Thanks for coming along with Tali girl and me!
Another great one Bill! Calm seas do not a good sailor make. Whether it’s stove pipes or ground bees, each hurdle makes us better. Thanks for the great perspective!
I have watched this video again and again and I still love it. I see by seeing posts on Facebook that you and Tali girl are back in the mountains again and I hope that you will make a video for us all. Enjoy your time at camp.
Yes Colin we are back in our mountain camp. ‘Working on new videos as well. We have a very invasive plant here from Asia. It is a large bush that grows wild & twenty feet tall or more. Autumn Olive. They do however, produce a delicious, very small, tart berry. I harvest about 4 quarts yesterday and spent today shooting a video making Autumn Olive Jam. That will be in our next production. Thank you for checking in on Tali girl and me!
Bill I appreciate all your videos, the first one I saw was good camp and I committed it was best I've seen on TH-cam and it still is.But I wanted to thank your words of wisdom of life and encouragement, but most importantly your openness of our lord and savior Jesus Christ, because of that you are truly blessed.THANKS BILL
At least eventually you made it to enjoy your season and have fun with Tali girl. We lost Queen Elizabeth 2nd today as in Thursday afternoon. See you and Tali girl soon.
Yes we did Colin! And it's almost time to head back to the mountains again. Queen Elizabeth II certainly lived an extraordinary, exemplary life! Always so good to hear from you my Friend!
Glad to see you back Mr. Dixon, and your commentary the last few minutes of this video brought a tear to my eyes. Thank you and God bless, you have such a gift. A ministering spirit I guess:) Thanks again for sharing.
Thanks Bill for the start of a a new camp season. They say these things are sent to try us and as you say we have to overcome them. It was nice to see Tali Girl jumping around knowing she was back at camp in the mountains. The good Lord sent us these things to try us out. Good luck to you both ☺️ and enjoy your stay and be safe. At least you had your breakfast on the return journey 🙂.

@@PungoPrairie I kinda thought so. Hey Mr. Bill, hope it's been a good year and your not long from heading to hunting camp. I am looking to upgrade my camp stove to the camp chef model like you have. Do you know how much room you have from the burners to the awning? I was curious how much space you have as my setup is like yours but I think you have maybe a little more head room. Keep up the videos and good luck this year. I'm 2 weeks from heading to Colorado myself for Elk season.
@@PungoPrairie from the top of my table to the underside of the awning, I'll be close to that. I was just a little worried about getting the canvas too hot. We're headed to the Pagosa Springs area. About 4 hrs north of Albuquerque NM.
@@lgpjr49 Should be a good area for you. I have hunted the Weminuche Wilderness near Durango just to the west of Pagosa Springs and Cat Creek Mesa near Alamosa just to the east and a little to the north. Please be sure to share with me about your hunt. I will be heading up to the mountains here in Virginia to set up camp later this week.
@@PungoPrairie Hey Mr. Bill, no elk, but I'm getting closer. Finally saw a group of about 10 cows and a bull. But they caught wind of me and disappeared. Thought I had then figured out till we had 18" of snow dump on us the last day. Good luck in the mountains this year.
Why in the world didn't you just go buy more stove pipe from home depot or even order some online and have it delivered... stay in the cabin til it arrived? I would have rigged a stovepipe or bought a new campsite stove myself bc you spent $100 in gas at least driving 10 hrs home and back so it wasn't money you saved. There's more than one way to skin a cat as they say...I love your videos and you reading the bible and family holiday videos kept you in my mind and heart. Take care. Poor Tali all that riding and you too!
Well Susan, I should have explained the reason in the video because lots of folks have asked the same question. The pipe is a special made tapered pipe made especially for use with that stove that decreases in diameter with each section as it goes up and matches up for clearance with the diameter of the stove jack sewn into the roof of the tent. The diameter of the first section is 5 inches at the bottom where it inserts into the stove and decreases with each section to about three inches at the top. If I were to buy 5" diameter straight pipe say at Lowe's or Tractor Supply I would have to stretch the stope jack in order to get the pipe through. Which ordinarily, would not be such a big deal. But when you do this, the stove jack grips the pipe so tightly, that during heavy wind gusts the tent roof lifts pulling upwards on the pipe and even with the pipe secured to the stove like I did in the video you referred to, it can actually move the stove around. Thats why the pipe has to have clearance all the way around between it an the stove jack.
Hi Tony. It is a UCO brass candle lantern that I acquired some 30 years ago. I just reordered a bunch of bees wax candles for it last year so I am pretty sure the lanterns are still available. Check this link.bestmarketgoods.com/products/uco-original-candle-lantern-brass Thanks for watching!

I bet you were wishing you could do speed up the set up video again THIS time and get it done in 10 minutes instead of 2 days..LOL. Oh....and thanks for the reflection and lesson there at the end. I need to hear that more often! great advice there.
Bill, you had me shouting at my screen, Just buy a new one at that hardware store 27 miles away! You crack me up 'cause you reacted exactly how I would've.
I knew folks would ask that question Ned. The pipe is a special made, tapered pipe designed so each section can nest inside if the next and tappers to a smaller diameter pipe thimble in the tent roof than the diameter at the bottom where it inserts into the stove.Plus I already had the pipe configured so as to be secured to the stove and not blow out in gusty winds like it did last year. Thanks for watching!
I would like to hang out with you for a bit and get a few tips about making things comfortable around camp. I share your philosophy. As Mark Twain said, "Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter."
Hi Joe, the pipe is made up of five tapered 2’ sections. It is made that way so that they can all nest inside of each other and be stored inside the stove. The diameter of the first section that slips into the stove is larger than the diameter of the section that is inserted through the jack ring at the roof. This tapered pipe is special made and not available at home stores or Tractor Supply. The only carry straight pipe sections and a straight section that is the proper size to insert into the stove is too large to pass through the stove jack at the roof. Thanks for watching!
That's a great question John. I knew somebody would ask it. It's a special made tapered pipe and not available most places. Even Tractor supply. Besides, I already had it configured to anchor to the stove so it wouldn't blow out again in high winds like it did last year.
It is a special made tapered pipe Stephen. The diameter where it comes out of the stove top is greater than the diameter of the thimble where it goes through the tent roof. Not available at local stores. Thanks for watching!
I can't wait to see your new videos at camp this year. I always love your camp adventures.

I would like to hang out with you for a bit and get a few tips about making things comfortable around camp. I share your philosophy. As Mark Twain said, "Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter."
Love it Reginald! Thank you & thanks for watching!
Awesome brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ God in the flesh.
You up to plan Z yet? ;)
Ha! Seems like I am running out of alphabet sometimes Dave.
why didn't you find a store and buy some pipe.
Question. Why didn't you just go to tractor supply and buy new pipe?
That's a great question John. I knew somebody would ask it. It's a special made tapered pipe and not available most places. Even Tractor supply. Besides, I already had it configured to anchor to the stove so it wouldn't blow out again in high winds like it did last year.
Ok. That answers that. LOL
Just go buy some new pipe
It is a special made tapered pipe Stephen. The diameter where it comes out of the stove top is greater than the diameter of the thimble where it goes through the tent roof. Not available at local stores. Thanks for watching!
