Thank you so much for writing this. I hope this comment could be stuck on the main page on all social media platforms so that everyone could see especially the haters. As a fan, it rlly hurts to sometimes see Jae being criticised for even some things that he has never done before.
Jae seriously promoted the group more than any other member. He made a youtube channel, twitch streamed, he joined dive studios and did a lot of work, he joined other streamers in their streams to get people outside of kpop community to know day6. He did all this by himself with no help of the company. He even approaches other artists for collabs for his solo projects. And yet i don't ever see the company support him. While YoungK is getting all his solo projects supported by the company. I mean wth.
Well jae was the only one doing stuff cuz I’ve noticed jyp artists don’t usually do stuff outside of their groups besides a few idols

Idk if you know how a company system works but everything you want to release need to be approved by the board (or management). J clearly said he don’t want the management to review his song or works done (while he’s in contract with them), so how the company can support him? (Not talking abt music industry only, but that’s how I’m working in my industry too). You can’t compare why yk get to do his solo stuff, because he definitely okay with the screening and the ‘pass or not decision’ by the company and management, that’s why he put his stuff on DAY6 official channel. And did you know everything posted on official channel will be counted as their wages, eg all the views and money they got from yt will be divided with all member of the group? Tbvh, yk work according to the company standard, for instance he already close to jukjae and has his personal number but he never ask jukjae to collaborate with him personally via kktalk, he ask jukjae to work together officially via company representative person. Big difference here actually and I’m lazy to explain why. So really, you can’t compare both of them. Ask J why he can’t put his works on official channel and why he don’t want to be screened and don’t want to get a pass from the management and company while he’s still in contract with them? He’s in contract but move like an independent artist, that’s why.

Jae had said way before that the issue isn't individuals in company but the management and management culture in general. So the company is the issue here not JYP as person or particul staff members.

Honestly JYP has a horrible way at managing their male artists/groups lately. Aside from the lack of support and lack of promoting, it seems like they also have lack of freedom. Wasn't he also told to stop streaming as well not long after he first started?? Everyone else has/had their own thing outside the band. Radio shows, guest appearances, solo work etc...Meanwhile he did everything on his own or was told he wasn't allowed...
He does seem a lot happier after all this bs, he's been streaming and hanging out with his streamer friends. I wish him the best for his future solo work as well and hope it's either in his own company or a company that actually cares...or even as an independent artist!!

@@lazybokie2574 It's kindof what happen when the company is named after yourself.. People who learn more about it quickly realise Jae likes JYP himself (and as far as I know he seems like a genuinely good person, though I don't know that much about him) and the issue lies within JYPE.
But for people who don't learn more, the line between JYP and JYPE gets blurred easily ^^'

The way that Jae has been treated has made me realise just how hypocritical people are.
People: “He/ she took his life …. Why didn’t he/ she speak up in public so that we could support them?”
Jae speaks up and is open about everything.

I stopped stanning anything kpop after the Killian story broke out. Nothing about Kpop surprises me anymore. Nothing.

The breakup between Jae and JYPE was to be expected if you've been keeping up with his streaming career, his friendship with other streamers (especially OTV), and his performance with 88 rising. If Jae stayed with JYPE, neither of them would be happy. Jae wouldn't get the freedom to do what he wants and JYPE would have an unhappy worker trying to fake something he doesn't want to do. Jae did say to believe in him and Day6 though. Once all the members from Day6 finish their military duties, I truly believe they'll come back together to perform again regardless if the rest of the members are still with JYPE or sign elsewhere
same he asked us to trust him and the others so I will, they are one of my ults and Jae is my Day6 bias so I have to believe he will perform with the others again
@@vstopbiaswreckingme7194 my one regret is not seeing them back in 2019 when they had a concert stop in Miami. I didn't think that would be the last time I'd get to see all 5 of them together for a long time. Getting a PS4 over a concert ticket and bus fare wasn't worth it in hindsight 😭

Jae obviously effed up, which he admited to and apologised to the one person who it relates to, but that does not mean his treatment within JYPE is just and/ or deserved. Whether you still support him and have given him a chance or given up, you CAN NOT deny that Jae has been honest about idol treament, and if you've ignored the things he has said just because you don't like him, then I don't think you respect your favs, who do go through that treatment.
So true, he was also one of the first idols to publicly address his mental health issues and be completely honest about the mistreatment of idols in the industry. Has he made some bad mistakes? Yes, but that shouldn’t negate the contribution he has made to the industry as a whole.
It’s sad the company didn’t allow Jae his proper solo promotions, but it was for the best. I feel that it was mainly through Jae that a lot of people, including myself, know of Day6 because of Jae. I even joked about the band being Jae6 at one point 😂. Best wishes to both the group and to Jae’s solo activities!!

honestly. i was heartbroken when Jae left but i honestly completely understand him. he honestly went through a lot. he practically promoted that group by himself. i found day6 THROUGHT Jae. He worked very hard and it's heartbreaking that Day6 lost another member i don't think Day6 will ever be the same after this. i feel like they just need to make Even of Day a completely separate group and let Day6 be what it once was. i am not happy with a lot of Jae's actions especially as he fell deeper into what i call Eaj rather than Jae. Jae was who we remember him as in Day6 and Eaj was the "real Jae". i can understand why JYP would've wanted to cut ties with him since it seemed like he was constantly getting himself in trouble but around the time he stopped letting "Eaj" consume him and just let himself be Jae, was when he terminated his contract. he loves Day6. he promoted that group better than JYP themselves. i only found out about comebacks by having his post notifications on on Twitter. he was honestly what made Day6 Day6 and i don't think we'll be getting Day6 back ever again even if they release music after they're done their military service. it's heartbreaking cuz i've been a fan since 2018 and i've always wanted to see the 5 of them in concert. i just hope all the members are doing well and i'm proud of Jae and Day6.

I'm sure many idols went through and are probably going through everything Jae has mentioned. I really admire him for taking his stand, and sharing his first-hand experiences because that's the only way for fans and STANS to get a grip of reality. As sad and harsh that might sound, it is the sad truth. Idols are people too. COMPANIES and FANS should treat them with basic human decency.
Fair right to him to leave JYPE, it's never easy of course since he grew up there, but I am sure this is the best for him. He is very creative and this just allows him to do whatever he wants without a board looking over it. His Twitch streams with GTA V roleplay are awesome anyways! Definitely worth watching that.

We don't know what's really happen between the company and the artists/members. The members didn't have a choice so they have to accept whatever given to them, as long as it didn't effect the group.

When i first heard that Jae was leaving day6 i was really sad , but i'm actually happy now knowing that he quit because JYP did not even care about Jae , and now he can go live happily and maybe comeback together with day6 and perform , hopefully JYP learns how to take care of their artists more and show that they actually care about them . I feel so sad just thinking about what Jae went through . I will support Jae all my life. And the only reason i actually came to know about him was because of the way he was treated . I always wanted to get to know other idols by good things that have happened to them or good things they did but I found Jae like this and i'm really sad to know how badly he has been treated.

JYP is a leader in mismanagement. They overwork there girl groups and mistreat there boy groups. The only reason why JYP is in the big 3 is because they rely heavily on TWICE for profits because they bring in more than half of the company's revenue and most of TWICE's profits comes from the Japanese market which is the second largest music market in the world.

They let Suzy do solo activities and she became so popular than it lead to Miss A's disbandment. But JYP's wealth increased because of the success of TWICE and GOT7 and because of them, they saved JYP from bankruptcy and remained in the big 3.

This video was in my algorithm after I watched Jae’s interview on the Sam Sang show. Some people blame Jae for leaving the company without knowing how unfairly he had been treated and the struggles he had been through. During that time, he was also suffering from severe anxiety disorders and taking anti-anxiety meds(and there were side effects of the meds), which was also part of the reason he said some immature and inappropriate stuff during that time.

I hope Twice will do what GOT7 did because JYP overworks them so much and rely heavily on them for profits.

i was super into day6 a few years ago sorta got out of the whole kpop scene and coming back to hear this is so devastating:( the only positive thing is that it doesnt seem like any of the members have ill will towards each other (based on what jae said) and we can look forward to seeing them all together soon

Nah, I think JYPE just likes to run a tight ship. Take Twice for example, you almost never see them do anything except being Twice. Jeongyeon recently confessed that she was being scouted for an acting gig, and JYPE shot it down.
@@jmanig76 I think that had to be with them trying not to repeat Miss A's history. They let the members venture out but at the end Suzy became extremely popular and miss A became Suzy and friends. That's why Twice was just Twice, no individual project for the members.

honestly why does JYPE even debut boy groups, they always mismanage and basically ignored them. Like it seems like their groups succeed in spite of their company, not because of them. I know all companies are kinda trash cause, like capitalism, but its unsettles me how JYP treats his boy groups.

Honestly, being an aghase and a Myday, I dont believe in JYPE anymore. Even of Day was grouped because Sungjin and Jae was taking a "break" because of their mental health, but I had my suspicions since Got7 was open about what the company treats them. So, in my mind, there's a chance that the company was lying. It all sinks in when Sungjin goes to the army all of a sudden. Sungjin is a spontaneous member though, (like sudden haircuts etc) but, this event was fishy for me. In the end, I hope that each member gets their own happiness, whether they are Day6 or as solo artists now.

GOT7 had so much potential but JYP wasted it. Same with Day6. TWICE also has so much potential outside of music like luxury fashion endorsements or acting in Korean dramas but all offers given to the members are rejected by JYP.

Don't forget about JYP overworking TWICE so much in 2021. SIX (6) COMEBACKS in just 1 year. 3 Japanese comebacks, 2 Korean comebacks, and 1 English single. Plus they just started a world tour. Jeongyeon is still going through anxiety yet JYP continues to pack there schedules.

Day6 got huge cheers at the Seattle Stray Kids concert when they were promoted in a clip featuring JYP groups. I haven't been following them and, from the video, had no clue that there was any controversy. I looked them up once I got back from the concert because the group looked interesting.
I feel like the big 3 agencies of kopo really fell from grace over the time...SM still trying to keep aflot tho they were not rid of scandals themselves...but JYP and YG really went fir self destruction in their poor managment style over the years, which is such a shame, considering they made some of the legendary idols artist out there in the history of kpop...how did they fail so misetably to manage their artists when they had such amazig talents on their hands and they hrlped launch them into briliant star careers? Why is it so hard for them to follow thru on what they started? YG had amazing potential with 2ne1 and Black pink, but they igonred all oportunites of global brands and collaboration, it just blows my mind...they kept rhe girls out of work for years on end tho their populaity was rising...they overplayed the "hard to get" card...did the same witk AKMU, they only focused on Big Bang and worked GD ti the very bone, only to toss him aside when he needed their help...JYP started doing the eame to their idols, just look at how they treated Jamie Park and her debut, poor girl wasn't able to get out music for years under them they barely got some songs and promotion at all and they statted doing that to other artists as well ..SM have many issues as well, but at least they don't look like throwing their artist to the dungeon, they even made an effort lately to revamp the old artist and made collaboration bettwen different generations, at least one thing goood....i'm telling you, kpop is not what it used to be...i trly feel is the end if a once glorious era ..

And him or Yang Hyun Suk (also not the CEO in YGE, it's his brother) or Lee Soo Man (he stepped down from SME in 2010, with 3-4 CEOs after him) have nothing to do with K-Pop anymore. They don't influence anything. Is that what you believe? That he's too busy going fishing, finding new talent with Psy and he knows nothing of what's going on in HIS company?
Well, that's not how S. Korea and the Chaebols work. Lee, Park and Yang are still the K-Pop industry. And they can still end a career with a phonecall. Or isolate an artist for two years, because he talked back. Or order the CEO or the Chairman to take him back, or leave him alone. He still got the shares...

It's not Park Jin Young making decisions about Day6 though. He doesn't run the company anymore, Jae has even come out to defend Park Jin Young multiple times for HELPING him when he was struggling from the staff. Day6 have their own set of staff in charge of making decisions for them. And the differences between Korea and the west is most rock bands in the west come together on their own. Day6 are idols who were put together and promoted by the company. They are employees who play instruments and write music.

leaving the agency is the best decision. at first i wanted him to come back to his group, but now i understand. he made the right choice. you're horrible JYP. i hope this wont happen to the other kpop bands. its just that.. i wanna see day6 perform again together..ot5. but i dont wanna see jae with jyp again. jyp treated him like nothing. it hurts to hear that jae promoted day6 to everything on his own. without any help from jyp or warever. for now, i'll keep supporting him and the three.

I very hate JYPE, they mistreat there boy groups and overwork there girl groups. GOT7 had so much potential but JYPE wasted it. Same with Day6. JYPE is instead overworking there favorite group, Twice and only relying on them for major profits. Twice is being overworked to the point of anxiety and that's what happened to Mina and now Jeongyeon. In 2021, Twice had 6 comebacks, 3 Japanese comebacks (Kura Kura, Perfect World, Doughnut), 2 Korean comebacks (Taste of Love, Formula of Love), and 1 English single (The Feels). Plus they just started a world tour. It's clear that JYPE is trying to squeeze out as much juice as possible from TWICE before there contracts expire. JYP should had done what SM did when Wendy had to go hiatus, Red Velvet went on a hitaus for more than a year and returned as a full group once Wendy was fully recovered. During Red Velvet's hiatus, SM focused on there other groups like NCT and Aespa. But for JYP, they continue to pack TWICE's schedules and move forward with there plans.

One problem with JYPE is that....... They don't want the members of their group to have their own personal space...... They control their groups and also the individual them selves.......... And they do bad in promoting their groups be it boy group or girl group (but especially girl groups).... All they do is release a lot of music and albums in a year and don't border to promote it......
Promoting is one thing they should be concentrating on, Day6 is a great band but I only discovered them last year, if they had even been doing a bit of promotion I might have known about them much earlier.

In kpop there are not much bands only group, and considering JYPE being a big company the band would be so popular only if they where promoted well enough and also the band speaks English so it's a plus on the western market.........
And this is my opinion...... Park jinyoung created /made those divisions in the company to keep track of the groups /bands in the company and to make release the stress of one person planning for every groups/bands activities....... And also for every group to have good promotion............

Now let's look at YG Entertainment..... We all know the problem of YGE is lack of comebacks /album for their groups /solo artists....
But at the same time when they finally comeback the promotion is next level, the groups might not go to shows but they are well promoted........
And knowing that those members would not remain in a group forever meaning their source of income might be limited they try to push each artist that are ready to go solo....... Cus it's their solo career that would give them more money when they leave the group and company for some they turn actors/actresses and some go into the variety category of k entertainment (like Kim heechul) ...... And YGE always support and promote the idols turned soloist...........that is why BIGBANG, AKMU and now Winner renewed their contract.
Unlike JYPE who don't want their idols to have lives of their own either as a solo artist or have a personal account (TH-cam, instergram, Facebook, Twitter etc)....... For now they want the money they've invested on their artists that's why we get silly amounts of comebacks/albums a year. Got7 left and they are doing good, let's hope if day6 and twice renew their contract they will get more promotion for day6 and solo activities for twice either for music or for acting.

When a Company as big as JYPE use excuses like doesn't have money to manage his artist well and still trying sabotaging his artist self attempt to become better with the fans... yep you remember what happened to B.I of Ikon from YG? yes they do have different case but the point here is how the company treated the artist first when the "signs of rebellion" is out... just for reminder, JYP and YHS are bird of a feather that flocks together...

JYP is losing artists like everyday and there solution is to debut a ton of new groups. I think JYP created Xdinary Heroes to replace Day6. I think JYP will debut JYP Loud to replace GOT7 and debut a new girl group incase TWICE doesn't renew their contracts. To make even more revenue in the Japanese market, JYP is going to debut a male version of NiziU.
I feel like YG and JYP egos got too big and now they just act like they are gods gifts to music. We see how that worked out for YG. Now, SM scares me. I feel like they prey on idols, especially female idols.
Can anyone tell me the difference between JYP and JYPE? I know that JYP is the person and JYPE is the mane of the company. I also understand that he is not the CEO of the company, just the owner.
