Whenever I put the pistons back, they go in well, just a small portion of dust seal lip is always turning inside. Is there any way to avoid this ? Or it’s acceptable that way ?
Doing my rear D1 calipers for the first time as the pistons have corroded, As always your catalogue has the perfect video to help me. Proper Lockheed ones so I'd rather refurb them than put pattern ones on.
@@trailerfitter2 Managed to get callipers gauge inside when I removed the brake pad, but it was not enough to measure the inside diameter of the piston
I recognise that orange paint on your bench. Matches my towbar
Hi I really love your videos , please can you tell me how many internal small orings are there in the disco 1 front caliper ?
Many thanks
TRP also makes aftermarket hgv parts here in US as well. Been busy week in my shop so spending morning catching up lol
They are getting bigger here in the UK. truck and trailer parts, workshop consumables etc.
Great video, thanks

Those scrap pistons look like useful dollies for the press.
Thanks again, great vid.
No downs on this one. ???
Can anyone help me with the inner diameter of the pistons? Don't realy want to take everything apart just for one measurement. I have 46mm pistons.
How did you measure them?

Just out of interest you use the terms "SERVICEABLE", "UNSERVICEABLE" and U/S, which makes me think you ex-forces ??
if at any point he says snafu you can be certain of that
My dad was in the RAF. Some things one cannot get out of their blood for sure.
I use those terms, learn't it from my first boss (HGV), he wasn't military though...
Maybe his dad was :)
