This is a great question! From a practical standpoint, it depends a lot on your level as a learner. There are some differences in vocabulary, pronunciation and even grammar, but the vast majority of the language is the same. So, if you are beginning to learn Spanish, hearing Spanish from any country will help you. At a higher level, if you know you are going to be spending time in a certain region, you may want to focus on that accent or vocabulary for your own comprehension. Spanish speakers everywhere will understand you regardless of the Spanish you learn (we all understand Spanish from different countries). Thanks for asking!
