@@jackburton3822 Hi Jack, I have a bunch in the collection a CT 9/10, CT 10th Season 3-5, and the CT 10th (11th Hour), and the 11th Doctor. Then, there's the Rubbertoe 4th, 11th (version2), 12th, and I have the new 10th pre-ordered. All that said, I keep the records in a file cabinet for the history of the replica. So you're in luck. I ordered the CT 11th on 8/16/17 and it arrived on 9/20/17. So you are in the ballpark. You'll find CT to be forthright and honest. I wouldn't worry there. Plus, with all the COVID frenzy, items are taking more time to travel depending on from where (and how) it's sent. I just had a music box set arrive from Japan yesterday via the 'quicker EMS' mailing and it took 6 weeks. I have had DHL and UPS from Britain take 2 and 3 days. CT has been doing this a while and when you consider what he has offered, he is very much a passionate fan himself. Now, if I could only find him to have my CT 9/10 Doctor sonic repaired!

The CT sonic is the best 11th doctor sonic replica out there by far, really want on of these soon. My only wish is that the sonic had a brighter led but I’ve only ever seen it in the light and in yt vids.

All the CT screwdrivers I've seen reviewed don't have much swirl. Must be some sort of reviewers curse. :P

This video is quite old now, and I must ask, do you still use it alot or did it get boring after a while? And did the quality deteriorate as time passed?

Hi mister man , I know this is 3 years old but I myself have a CT sonic . I bought mine second hand and I can say that the sonic holds up perfectly , except for the leather which gets a little worn over time with handling .
Hey I appreciate the reply! I wound up getting it and I agree with your assessment. It’s a very durable device, and you can improve the flickablity by placing a bit of translucent tape in the four bottom crevices where it gets locked in place. So still going strong.

They got it from the celestial toystore and it’s 500 pounds however if you live in America then it’s like 600 and up

Some of the struts look like they are slowly popping up away from the body or conical section
The Restoration of Dr Who over time the circular placeholders get loose and make the copper sections looser (up, down loose)

The Restoration of Dr Who I don’t think anyone sells them. I would try and dismantle the section that is loose and probably add a dab of super glue on the under side so that it sticks to the body.
TheCybermanFan - The Ultimate Whovian I damaged one and had to do some crude shit to get the strut back on. If I wanted to put a new rivet in I’d have to drill out the previous brass in there
The Restoration of Dr Who I’ve done some work on a friends sonic, the struts just pop off if you apply enough pressure to them. Was a fairly easy to fix.
I've heard that the newer CT sonics don't live up to the quality of the older ones. Is that true? I'm wondering if I should get one myself.
I honestly can't speak to CT's newer stuff (or even if he's still actually making them) -- But word is that the newest edition of the Rubbertoe is actually unbeatable. From the pics I've seen, that may-well be the case.
I can confirm the newer CTs arent as good as they used to be, they have more QC issues. Also a lot of them have a copper collar with not enough clearance for the sonic to extend withour scratching the inner rod, and it can make it impossible to flick open

EverettAviation Have a look at the pics on his site. The think looks AMAZING. Word is that he borrowed some of the construction methodology from CT’s (threaded parts, etc), but his lens and center core are a million times better looking. The cage looks great and I have it on good authority that the flicking action is second-to-none. I’m working on getting one in-hand so I can do a comparison.
I think the issues in this review come from the fact that this was Nick’s first go at making these en masse, and was trying to use the same methods used when making the original 4. He probably had to take some shortcuts to make it happen, resulting in this kind of thing. It seems he’s ironed out all those wrinkles.
And add that to the fact that this was the time when everyone was biased for CT.

If you've got an order in and trying to decide when you can expect it, I'm not gonna be able to help. I preordered mine very early on, probably a couple years before it actually came out, and I don't really know what's going on with CT's sonic business these days. Your best bet is probably to reach out to him via email for order status.

mitchell houtz No, these are an online-only deal. The CO Toy and the Wand Company remote control sonics are the only ones you can buy in a store.

Xxprima_noctaxX When I bought that sonic, I was making less than $30k a year at a $12.50/hr job. I just planned and saved. Also, this thing literally can’t be manufactured for $400... it’s incredibly complex and time-consuming. If you ever get to hold on in your hands, you’ll see.

It’s not at all hard to afford if you know how to set aside a little money. Sometimes I would literally save $5 towards this thing. I got mine with a $9/hr job. Yes. I live on my own and do pay my own bills. Don’t get me wrong, took me about a year and a half to save up for it, but I now have one and it just arrived this past Friday.

Okay so there's a guy going by crackletech I had the my ct sent over and he charged 100$ I have an interview with him if your skeptical . It's on my insta @sonicscrewdriversandtherstuff .Hope he fixes it !

Is the quality of these sonics still good?
I can’t speak firsthand to the quality of any of the newer Sonics. Anecdotally, people who I trust tell me that CT has fallen to the wayside, while the new Rubbertoes put even this CT to shame.
Again, I haven’t handled either at this point, just what I’m hearing through the grapevine.

@@RG-dc5il From what I’ve seen of the newest Rubbertoes, that’s what I’d have to recommend. I have it on good authority that they re-engineered the intervals so they’re just as robust as the CT, all the issues in this video seem to have been solved, the swirl is vastly superior... and sound now comes standard.
@@PropsmithReplicas I probably will get the CT as it is cheaper and I don’t really mind if the quality has downgraded as long as it looks accurate and the flick works well.
