Actually had it directly from members of the crew: there was indeed a problem with the guitar that Win was playing, and yes he did throw it, and the headstock shattered. I'm not sure why anyone who knows anything about these four would think that they would do anything fake or staged during a live show.
This was amazing, my favorite song of the set, Ben threw his mike in St. Augustine. HOWEVER, this was clearly staged, the guitar was working fine, faked a mishap, gave the good guitar to the roadie, smashed an already broken one.
