    Brings back memories of my man and his brother building his 1970 Bronco 289. . pulled the engine and tranny beefed up the suspension installed a 4 speed tranny changed out the transfer case PTO and winch 9000 Ramsey, and got a 351 Cleveland from a wrecked Cougar Eliminator running 750 16 rims and tires , looks great runs like a beast 6 months from start to finish ..? it was built in1980 ,it lives in our barn..? They drive it for Hunting and fishing trips only..?

    Love the historical info and discussion on specific features that distinguish certain years and models. Thanks for creating this.

    I had 66 back in 1970 with the 170 6 cylinder. It had two oil pumps, for going up hill and down hill and held 8 quarts of oil. It had three on the tree with high and low range.

    Fantastic episode by far and I like them all lol. What an impressive collection. Nice story of father passing it down to his kids and Bronco fever down from generation to generation.

    Jimmy has a great collection of rigs and parts !!! Tons of original parts!!! He stopped by my house in south Mississippi and picked up an original halfcab top a few years ago.

    I'm 61, when I was a teenager there was a PTO Jeep in the neighbors farm pasture. It had a trencher hanging off the back. It had a pipe rack and a tow bar on the front. I was told it was never plated and was a trencher it's entire life.

    I learned a few things about Budd bodies that I found on my 11/65 U15. I always knew about the eyebrow grill and drip rail (rain gutter) behind the control pedals but I did not know about the short kick panel. It's interesting that the green U13 has a speedometer with tick marks under the numbers rather than on the outside (top) of the numbers. Might've been swapped out at some point in time?

    The oblong hole in 66-67 was for access to the lift gate strut bracket nuts, later ones had permanent blind nuts installed

    Great clip Jimmy. Two things - you could have given us 66 289 pony’s a plug. And you could have chosen a better hat for film day! Great collection and thanks for sharing.

    I've been interested in Broncos since the 90's. What's rare is a bronco that isn't beat up, hacked on and rusted out! Lol

    My 1922 Dodge Brothers has a Budd body. Not very Bronco related, but in regards to Budd they made car bodies fairly early.

    Have y'all ever heard of a U.S.M.C. 67 Bronco ? I bought a 67 hardtop with a USMC nomenclature plate riveted to the dash. The guy I bought it from said he bought it from a military auction in the early 1970's I have not been able to find another one. It belonged to my scout master when I was in scout camp in 1974. Just curious if there are any more out there.

    • @jgolden9523
      @jgolden9523 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes there have been a couple surface. Does your plate on the dash look like the one in the video but stamped USMC?
      The Marines Broncos seem to be the least common of the 4 branches.

    As you probably know early Bronco wheel cover are the same except for centers as 1952-53 Mercurys.

    • @jgolden9523
      @jgolden9523 ปีที่แล้ว

      The tabs on the back are different as well. The Mercury caps have evenly spaced tabs to hold them on the wheel, the Bronco caps have them in sets of 3.

    I had a 68 bronco station wagon U15. Two gas tanks and turn signal lights on the top of the fenders. Never seen one like that. Bought it off the showroom floor. Would that be considered rare ?

    I’m really surprised, but I just found your channel and subscribe. I was wondering if you would be interested in heading up to Massachusetts to do a story on the five Broncos that I have and the father and two sons bills that we are getting ready to start now. I bought my bronco in 1994 and it was rolled over the body was broken in three pieces and it didn’t run but it did have a 351 Cleveland out of a 71 mark one mustang and still does why don’t you come up and visit and I’ll show you the Broncos I sons are getting ready to stop building now.

    I love old Broncos, too bad they have become unobtainable for the average person. Original Broncos are rare , guys take them and turn them into 6 figure show trucks. I’ll stick with CJ 7’s they can still be bought under 10k, lots of fun.

    my 1970 bronco had a PTO winch on it, the front bumper has been extended and the cross member under the engine has been notched for that drive shaft and there`s the hole in the transmission tunnel for the lever to operate it, all of it was gone when i got the bronco, i`m going to leave the bumper the way it is
